About This Listing
Two huge west facing windows provide nice light through the day and a pleasant sunset at night.
This raw, open concept, loft/studio unit has loads of character and is a unique rental option in a central part of the city. The heritage building complex is made up of an eclectic mix of artists, musicians, woodworkers, designers, small businesses, etc. The unit itself has 13 ft. high ceilings, a wall of exposed brick, painted hardwood floors, and two large west facing windows that provide really nice light throughout the day. Simple, designer furnishings give the space a minimalist feel with lots of room to move around. The sleeping area is tucked away on one end of the unit with a nice, comfortable queen bed. The bathroom has a raised shower, rough concrete floors, and includes a washer (with the dryer in another part of the unit). A small, clean kitchen area with full fridge and electric appliances only (convection oven, hot plate, kettle, electric skillet, microwave - no full oven/stove). There is dedicated wireless internet for the unit.
It's a convenient area of the city to access - very close to 24 hour public transit (King and Bathurst streetcars) and if driving, a short exit off the Gardiner Expressway or Lakeshore Blvd. Daily street pay parking and overnight permits available for those with vehicles. Accessibility note: there is no elevator service and it's a fourth floor walk-up.
We had a great stay- the loft was full of character and in a great area close to so much (we did a lot of walking). Dan was flexible with our check-in and easy to get in touch with. The 4 flights to walk up are a little tedious after a long day, but manageable. Would definitely stay again!
Dan has a great place very close to the center in Toronto. The apartment is spacious and light, which we really liked. Dan made us feel very welcome by having the place air conditioned prior to our arrival. Also, clean towels and bed linens were provided. Which, combined with an awesome bed made our stay very comfortable. All in all a great place to stay!
Dan's place was perfect for my 6 night visit to the Toronto film festival!
It's a spacious, really well thought out loft in a great location - a two minute walk to the Thompson hotel and only 10 minutes to the city centre.
The flat itself is a huge space, set out in classic open-plan loft style. The bed was super comfy, and I had everything I needed in the flat. He was even went above and beyond board and put up an air mattress to accommodate my friends who visited!
The loft space was perfect for my short trip to Toronto. It is located in a great neighbourhood with groceries, restaurants, & shopping and transit close by and the loft itself is spacious with lots of character.
Dan was extremely flexible with my late arrival time which meant that we didn't get a chance to meet, but in all of our online interactions he was very courteous and helpful.
I hope to stay here again in the future.
We had a great time. The loft is comfortable and nicely furnished. The light is beautiful in the evening. The AC was a relief on hot days and the wifi worked without any issues.
Dan had everything prepared for our arrival right on time (clean sheets, towels, etc.) and a helpful printout of all the important details. It is several flights of stairs, however, and the old building has a bit of a musky aroma to it (the loft itself smelled fine though).
The bathroom has a cool concrete and gravel floor and huge mirror. The shower is quite small, but the water pressure and temperature is great.
The kitchen is basic and sort of European style. You won't be making elaborate meals, but there's no reason to in this neighborhood. That's because, most of all, the loft is in a great location, close to lots of restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. You certainly won't be bored.
Dan's place was a great fit for me. The location is in the hip Queen West area with tons of cool shopping, funky cafes and bars, and downtown Toronto all within a short walk. The apartment is very unique and has lots of character, and you can tell that this is someone's well-loved home. The bed was comfy and overall - the space had all the amenities one would need or want for a week's stay. Dan was great about communication and gave me a friendly welcome when I arrived. Check out was easy and seamless as well. All in all, this experience totally added to a great first time in Toronto!
Dan's apartment was perfect for us... full of character, clean, high ceilings artist style warehouse in a really cool area with great coffee just around the corner. Thanks Dan for being such a wonderful host and making our stay so easy. If we ever come back to Toronto we will certainly hope to stay at your place again.
