  • The cottage was a cute and private place to spend the 3 nights we were in Manuel Antonio. It was rustic although clean and the bed was comfortable and was surrounded by lush plant life. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our deck during the day and at night watching the fireflies, birds and listening to the monkeys. The breakfast was veer good and the view from the breakfast room was stunning. The common area was great for monkey watching. Anita was a very pleasant and wonderful host. This place is great value for the area.

  • Anita at Casa Buena Vista is an awesome host, she is accommodating and very knowledgeable. We loved the cottage so much we asked for two more days and moved to the air conditioned teak house. Difference experiences, the cottage has a kitchen and we enjoyed the cooking, but in the room we had an opportunity to eat out which we love and cool down which was great also. The food in Costa Rica is so yummy. The Manual Antonio park is close and we spent time on the beaches and in the park......all wonderful. We would recommend Anita's casa with one warning be prepare to travel light the stairs are very good exercise, Gale with a new hip replacement could manage the stairs but needed rests to do it. The place is secure and clean, the people are so friendly. Thank you Anita we had a wonderful visit we wanted to stay longer, but we will return!

  • This property is an outstanding value overlooking beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park. Anita and Nuria are both wonderful and we met the nicest travelers there. It is super easy and cheap to take the public bus to Manuel Antonio from Anita's place. Casa Buena Vista is located in an area of very expensive properties and lots of great eating options. Anita goes out of her way to help answer questions and make any needed arrangements. We would definitely stay again. Be sure to get a guided tour in the park if you want to see the most animals.

  • Anita was a great host for my husband and myself. Her rooms were clean and large, and accommodated us perfectly. Her breakfast was great and she was friendly and knowledgeable. We will use her in the future. :)

  • The price of this B&B is very, very reasonable for Costa Rican purposes. However you should therefore not expect to arrive in a very clean or renovated property. The location is great and has beautiful views, and the private parking is awesome. We stayed in the private house which is spacious, but it has no windows and is therefore very moist, it also smells moist. Although the windows had mosquito nets for the windows we still had many insects in the house, including approx 2000 ants all over the place. Off course the house is in the middle of tropical rainforest but a few more measurements to avoid all those animals inhouse could be taken I think. The property hosts many bats, which is great against the mosquitos, but at the same time there is bat-shit everywhere which I didn't find very hygienic as you also walk in your bedroom with the same shoes. The host Anita is very friendly and the lady that cooks and cleans is great, too!

  • Casa Buena Vista was wonderful. We spent many hours on the lodge porch listening to the surrouding jungle sounds and looking at the bay. The breakfast was surreal - we loved the fresh fruit, eggs, and homemade jam. Anita was so helpful and was great to talk to. We would come back and stay for a week.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights at the cottage. It was a great private space. We loved the deck to sit and relax and listen to the sounds of the monkeys! Great location off the main road walking distance to beach and restaurants.

About
I discover Manuel Antonio 38 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our area. (website hidden) We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
