Pros: Eric is a really nice and helpful person, he helped me with connecting the TV. The house is located in a perfect area with access to all important locations (e.g. biergarten). You can park in the streets all day. You can find fun games and books in the house.
Cons: The main mattress is too soft and for a long term stay could cause back pain. The house was a bit dusty and we had to vaccume it all. The bathroom curtain wasn’t that clean hence we changed it and the dishware were a bit dirty.
Other than this we were there for a month and it was a fun time!
My first experience with first Airb was fantastic! Eric responded quickly to my inquiry, and he politely waited my transaction. Great welcome and kindness by Eric, and above all also very helpful. The apartment is very cute, and comfortable. House warm, comfortable beds, large windows. Upon arriving we also found the food in pantries and Eric went also to bring the beers! absolutely fantastic. The neighborhood is in an elegant area, very quiet and safe. The services market etc. type. are very close, and there's just ale behind the park Alamo. I highly recommend it to everyone !!!
My staying in the apartment was excellent. The place is beautiful, cozy and well furnished. Eric is a wonderful host and made sure that everything was perfect and ready for my arrival. He provided me with plenty of info on the neighborhood (grocery, Laundromat….) and also with all the info of the apartment.
My cat and I had a wonderful time and it will be very difficult to leave this place now. The apartment is located in a great place, close to Alamo Square (where there is an amazing view of San Francisco) and in walking distance to a lot of nice café and restaurants. I don’t have a car and I did not miss it at all: there are plenty of busses that run around and everything is very easy to reach.
WiFI is not working that well but there is the Ethernet cable that is excellent, and I did not have any problem at all.
I also asked Eric whether I could stay for an extra night and the let me staying without paying, better then this ☺
In conclusion: Amazing!
My roommate and I stayed in Eric’s listing for the summer while we were working in the city. The neighbourhood is excellent! This is one of my favourite areas in SF. Really centrally located with close proximity to lots of different parts of the city. Also quite close to bus lines, as the 21 & 22 are both only a block away and well connected!
The apartment seemed to have a bit of an ant situation when we first moved in. When we asked Eric about it, he just said that we should expect to have ants in the summer in San Francisco, and he gave us some ant repellant products. When the problem grew worse, and we wanted to have an exterminator come in, he was fairly unresponsive initially. He told us later on that he communicates best through text messages, but that would have been nice to know before the several missed calls/emails between us.
He was, however, incredibly reasonable about an unfortunate heater situation, where my roommate and I had unwittingly left it running for quite a while. He warned us about the extreme spike in the heating bill, and was nice enough not to charge us for the initial increased cost we had incurred. In return, we decided to minimise heater usage to try to balance out the cost over our entire stay, to be fair.
The listing description was fairly accurate. The apartment has changed a bit since the photos, so it would be nice to have that updated. (There are two futons instead of a couch and a futon, and the table in the living room is different. There is a curtain instead of a screen for the room divider.) All fairly minor details though, I think!
We found the wifi really unreliable. It was located outside of the apartment, in a basement of sorts, which meant it dropped signal quite often and was not easily accessible to attempt to reset. Some days it was great! Other days it didn’t work at all.
We didn’t use the kitchen at all, so we can’t really comment on that. But on the whole, the apartment seemed really well-stocked with amenities (much more so than we expected!). The apartment is also nifty because Eric replaced the typical locks with key codes, so we never had to worry about losing or forgetting keys, and there’s also an outside gate & a door so it felt quite secure.
I was in S.F. for a little over a month and enjoyed staying in this loft, Eric was very accommodating and hospitable. The apartment was as advertised and clean. The neighborhood was nice with Alamo Park very close as well as several markets and cafes. Public transportation is also very close by and easy to use. I would recommend this loft to anybody that is wanting a nice place to stay in San Francisco.
