Palazzo San Pawl is a unique 17th C building originally built by the Knights of Malta. It has been very carefully and lovingly restored to its original splendor and old world charm in keeping with and enhancing all its original features.
The ground and first floor of the building have been stylishly converted into 4 fully independent apartment-suites which have been named after four Grandmasters of the Knights of Malta. The Hompesch & del Monte Suites overlook the central courtyard whereas the Pinto & Vilhena Suites have windows onto the street. All the Suites have access to the roof terrace by means of a lift which is accessed in the courtyard. The roof terrace commands spectacular panoramic views of the Grand Harbour. The property is centrally located within the bastion walls of Valletta, barely a 100m from the Co-Cathedral of St. John's housing the biggest masterpiece by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, which is the epicentre of our Unesco World Heritage City.
Living in Valletta is synonymous to living in an open air museum, perfect for culture seekers who would truly like to discover this small but magnificent cosmopolitan peninsular city steeped in history where everything is within walking distance.

Schoenes Appartement, fuer zwei Personen ideal.
Norman is a great host! Apartment clean and welcoming with fruit and wine. Location is very convenient close to transportation and in the heart of Valletta and all the action. Would stay there again without hesitation.
Norman's apartment was spacious and contained everything we needed. The location in Valetta is perfectly located to explore Malta. The wine and fruit were unexpected and very much appreciated.
Norman and his partner were welcoming and very hospitable. The historic flat was beautifully restored with great attention to every detail. However, the flat is on a busy street and the traffic noise is a problem because there is no insulation between the street and the flat. Also, lots of construction. Norman has several other flats inside the main building and those may be quieter. Nevertheless, staying in a 400 year old restored building was a wonderful experience.
Very pleasant property and ideally situated in Valetta.
Within a few minutes walk of the main sites and restaurants.
Norman and Michael are organized, efficient, and extremely responsive to guests. We liked that all the "house rules" were laid out and we knew what to expect. They also had some basic food items (tea, milk, bread, jam, beer, and wine) already in the apartment for our use which was a wonderful surprise. The stairs are quite steep from the loft (with the double bed) down to the living room and on down to the kitchen/bathroom so anybody with balance issues or leg issues should look elsewhere. The water in the shower is hot right away and the bathroom is modern. The apartment is just beautiful as is the rooftop terrace where we took our bottle of wine and enjoyed the view. We had one very minor issue with the toilet and I called Norman on his mobile while we were on our way to Mdina and he had it fixed by the time we returned. Just a wonderful visit!
