Palazzo San Pawl is a unique 17th C building originally built by the Knights of Malta. It has been very carefully and lovingly restored to its original splendor and old world charm in keeping with and enhancing all its original features.
The ground and first floor of the building have been stylishly converted into 4 fully independent apartment-suites which have been named after four Grandmasters of the Knights of Malta. The Hompesch & del Monte Suites overlook the central courtyard whereas the Pinto & Vilhena Suites have windows onto the street. All the Suites have access to the roof terrace by means of a lift which is accessed in the courtyard. The roof terrace commands spectacular panoramic views of the Grand Harbour. The property is centrally located within the bastion walls of Valletta, barely a 100m from the Co-Cathedral of St. John's housing the biggest masterpiece by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, which is the epicentre of our Unesco World Heritage City.
Living in Valletta is synonymous to living in an open air museum, perfect for culture seekers who would truly like to discover this small but magnificent cosmopolitan peninsular city steeped in history where everything is within walking distance.
RENTAL Rental and HOUSE RULES
Smoking is strictly NOT ALLOWED in the apartment or in any inside part of the building. Not complying will lead to a 250€ extra charge (for cleaning all curtains and other fabrics present in the flat as well as closing the flat for two days to do this: don't smoke in the apartment). One can smoke on the co the roof terrace or outside in the street.
People other than those in the Guest party mentioned above may not stay overnight in the property without prior permission from the Homeowner. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
The homeowner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
Keep the property and all furnishings in good order
The apartment must be surrendered to us in a normal state of cleanliness. If not, extra cleaning fees may apply (50€). Disposing of the garbage and washing the dishes is considered a courtesy.
Only use appliances for their intended uses.
Pets are only allowed with prior consultation.
Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We can offer a daily housekeeping service at an extra cost of 15 euros/day.
Water and Septic: No feminine products should be flushed at any time. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you will be charged for the cost of the repairs.
Noise: Do not be loud after 8 p.m., do not make any noise above room level after 10 p.m especially in the common areas, this includes speaking and laughing at a normal level in groups. Please keep noise levels low after 10 p.m.
There are other vacation rental in a building. Please acknowledge the neighbors' right for peace, quiet and respect.
Energy conservation: please conserve energy, in particular turn off lights and devices when you leave the premises.
Roof terrace:Please ensure that no more than 3 persons at a time use the lift, the terrace is open from 10 am - 10pm, ensure that the gate is always closed.
Garbage: please separate garbage in 3 categories: paper, metal & plastic in the blue bin, glass (bags supplied) and everything else(black bags). The black garbage bags if full can be left by the front door as they cannot be put outside before 3pm.
Lock the doors: the insurance doesn't take anything in charge in case of burglary with unlocked doors. Please note that all keys have been tested and work smoothly.
Close the windows every time you leave the flat.
Please note that not complying to the rental and house rules might, in certain cases, lead to an immediate termination of the rental agreement on our part without any refund (plain English: eviction).
Our stay in Norman's apartment in Valletta was fantastic, the apartment was very spacious and felt like we were staying in an authentic Maltese house. The rooftop terrace had a wonderful view of the harbour and was great to relax after sightseeing all day! Checking in was easy and our host's recommendations were very appreciated, our first night spent enjoying fireworks for the local festivals and a live jazz band at an open air bar just around the corner! Нас впечатлил интерьер помещения: сочетание древних каменных стен и предметов хай-тека смотрится великолепно и создает особую атмосферу. Комнаты расположены на трех этажах: ванна и кухня- на цокольном этаже, гостинная- на первом и спальня- на втором этаже. Также имеется терасса с великолепным видом на залив и город,
По приезду нам были предоставленны фрукты, вино, пиво, сок и некоторые продукты. Это было очень приятно, поскольку приехали мы довольно поздно и магазины уже были закрыты. Месторасположение отличное, все достопримечательности находятся поблизости. До парома, который ходит в Слиму и Триситиз всего 5-7 минут пешком, автобусный терминал тоже рядом. В округе есть множество кафе и ресторанов, а также шоппинг центры. На этой же улице, если пройти минут 5 в сторону моря, есть рынок, где можно купить свежие продукты.
Хозяин был очень любезен, показал нам все необходимое; рассказал, где находятся ближайшие магазины и достопримечательности.
Единственным минусом для нас была сырость помещения и немного спертый запах, особенно в цокольной части. Но, поскольку, большую часть времени мы находились на прогулках, то это не вызвало большого дискомфорта.
We spent 5 days in Norman apartment and were very pleased!
There is everything you need to stay and very clean.
We were impressed with the interior space: a combination of ancient stone and high-tech looks great and creates a special atmosphere. The rooms are located on three floors: bath and kitchen on the ground floor, living room on the first floor and bedroom on the second floor. There is also a terrace with a magnificent view of the bay and the city,
On arrival we had fruit, wine, beer, juice and some foods from owner. It was very pleasant as we arrived quite late and shops were already closed.
Location is great, all seensathing are nearby. To the ferry that goes to Sliema and Three-Cities only 5-7 minutes walk, bus terminal is also nearby. In the district there are many cafes, restaurants and shopping centers. On the same street, if you walk 5 minutes to the sea, there is a market where you can buy fresh food.
The owner was very kind, showed us everything we need.
The only drawback for us was a bit moisture especially on the ground floor. But it did not cause much discomfort, because we walked a lot and only slept at apartments.

Schoenes Appartement, fuer zwei Personen ideal. Komfortable, recht luxuriöse Einrichtung, Dekoration. Gepflegte Atmosphäre, ideale Lage. Kleines Manko: altbaudedingt und da wir die EG Wohnung hatten etwas dunkel und auch direkt auf Strassenniveau. Aber uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und man hat die Terrasse, die bequem mit dem Aufzug zu erreichen ist, dort oben ist Ruhe, tollste Aussicht und Sonnenschein. Unkomplizierte Gastgeber, nett und offen. Ganz toll zum Willkommen eine Flasche Wein, Wasser, Brot etc. vorzufinden. Da muss man nicht gleich losrennen. Wir werden gern zurückkommen!
Norman is a great host! Apartment clean and welcoming with fruit and wine. Location is very convenient close to transportation and in the heart of Valletta and all the action. Would stay there again without hesitation.
