We can arrange your airport transfers
The Riad is situated conveniently near Jemaa el Fnaa making arrival and departure easy - the airport buses stop at the square. Despite this, we would not stay at Dar al Faras again nor recommend it to our friends.
We decided, before arriving at Dar al Farad, to spend an extra day in Marrakech. Charlotte kindly agreed to host us an extra day but did not accept my official request on AirBnB. Instead she sent me a message me asking me to pay a sum she quoted in Euros when we arrive.
She was not there at the riad but the manager received us. We were disappointed to find that card payment was not possible. As we did not have euros on us, we asked if we could pay in dirhams. The quoted sum seemed unfairly high comparing it to the market price for dirham vs euro and even considering the rates at the exchange bureaus. Although I contacted Charlotte asking to do business through AirBnB, she only replied 19 hours later asking if we had paid or not without any proposal for a solution nor offer to help to resolve the situation.
By that time we felt that the personel at the riad tolerated us with cold politeness, and we did not want to move to another place for one night only, so we withdrew dirhams to change them to euros (a procedure that took us an hour in +35C heat) and paid in cash (recognising it's against T&S, and we'll let AirBnB know). The whole thing left a bad feeling, we did not feel welcome nor comfortable in the riad.
Additionally, although the place was almost empty (only one other room was occupied) we were given a small 2-bed room where the toilet/shower was only separated with a half see-though curtain and a wall that lacked a good 0.5m from the ceiling. A bit too intimate for three friends.
Had a lovely trip to the Riad al Faras with my sister. Marrakech was blisteringly hot and busy but the Riad was a lovely oasis with a very welcome plunge pool in the pretty courtyard. We were the only guests staying there which was nice as it was quiet and Youssef was very accommodating and helpful. He met is in the main square on our arrival and helped us with out luggage. He even helped us book a trip to the Cascades which was excellent!!!
The room was small but adequate and the Moroccan bathroom was a lovely touch. It was also good to have wifi at the Riad.
I was a little bit disappointed with the breakfast as all the other reviews had mentioned this as a real plus and we had bread and jam and coffee each morning, with the odd pancake. As a coeliac I couldn't have any of this, but Youssef was very lovely heating up my gluten free bagels that I brought with me.
Overall a vey pleasant stay and I would be very happy to come and stay here again!
Riad charmant, lumineux et calme.
Le petit dejeuner est traditionnel et copieux.
La chambre oú nous avons sejourné était typique avec sa salle de bain et ses magnifiques portes en bois. Elle possedait aussi un climatiseur.
Our stay at Riad al Fara was great. Charlotte was not present but the manager of the riad even walked over to the square to meet with my group, to make sure we could navigate the maze of streets to find the riad. They also managed to arrange car rides to the airport for a reasonable price, and change the schedule slightly at the last minute, despite it being in a heavily odd hour (Saturday morning at 4am). The riad included a terrace and breakfast was also included. Overall, great experience. Close walk to the square.
We (as a party of 7) had a great stay at this Riad. The location was really convenient as it really was only a 5 minutes walk to get to the centre of the main square. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day. Breakfast was such a nice treat to have every morning, cooked by the lovely Aisha. Youssef (the housekeeper) was also really helpful and friendly with providing directions and arranged a trip to the desert for us. Charlotte was also able to answer any questions we had about the stay or Marrakech in general before our stay. All in all, this Riad was an amazing place to stay - thoroughly recommended!
A perfect location for a good price. We felt welcome and people were helpful. Thanks to Charlotte.

I live most of the time in Lyon in France. I am a big fan of the "old Lyon" neighborhood.
I love traveling, specially in Marrakech in the nice and relaxing Riad of my family. Our staff is amazing and welcome our guests very carefully when we are away.
Always happy to provide visitors with recommendations and advice ;)
