The Space

This flat is an atelier converted into a residence. its on the floor level with a lovely backyard which is my favorite place in the house.

the neighborhood is central but fortunately there's no much tourists. its the most charming and residential "barrio" of barcelona. lots of bars, cinema, day and nightlife. 15 minutes walking to the wonders of gaudi, as to sagrada familia, la pedrera, or parc guell.

you know, its the opposite of staying in a noisy and overcrowded area. ask your friends that stood near las ramblas, and you know what i'm talking. this is a very catalan kind of area.

there's a lot of squares where the famous tapa restaurants dispose their tables at the open air. locals come to gràcia to have some drinks with friends and also have some ethnical dinner, because there's a bunch of restaurants from all over the world. for instance, there is an ethiopian, lebanese and a brazilian in my own street; and some greek close by, also tibetan, thai, portuguese, vietnamese, catalan of course, japanese,...you name it.
well, i can help you with that. after all we can agree that
sometimes a local's advice is better than a cold guidebook.

i wish you enjoy your stay and that i can be useful in this amazing town.

if you're interested in meditation, you can join me, free of charge, every monday, wednesday and thursday at our buddhist center, 15 mins walking distance.

  • My three friends and I spent such a lovely week in this flat in Gracia. It's very peaceful, and the terrace is great. The area is the nicest in Barcelona, with tapas bars all around and really sweet places to go and shop or have coffee. Paulo gave us loads of tips about the city and was really helpful whenever we needed anything. I highly recommend this flat!

  • I really enjoyed my stay with Paulo. The flat is very relaxed and has all the facilities one would need. I stayed with my partner and it would be suitable for a couple on their own or two couples. The area feels very safe and the flat is close to the metro. We ate in few cafes nearby and had excellent brunches and lunches. Also there are a few good bars and lovely squares with outdoor seating nearby.
It was my first time staying in Gracia and it felt alot more "authentic Barcelona" in many ways. If you stay here you can easily access all of Barcelona but not be in a touristy area.
Paulo is an excellent host who took time out to meet us and was very helpful with any request. I would highly recommend both Paulo and his apartment.

  • Appropriate for people looking for companionship :) Not suitable for people who want to live separately. Shared accommodation with other people. In the rest all right :)

    Response from Paulo:

my bad! I jammed 2 bookings. i'm really sorry and at the end it taught me a lesson: ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK and write in paper all your bookings. again, i'm sorry, but at the end was only one guy more at the flat and i asked you daily if everything was alright and you, your wife and your friend always said everything was ok. uff

  • We had a fantastic stay with Paulo this last weekend in Barcelona. His place is very homey and artistic and in a great location in the city. It is a short 10-15 minute walk from the Sagrada familia and easily accessible by metro. Paulo was extremely relaxed, accommodating, and gave us suggestions of what to visit during our short stay in the city. He also went out his way to help us recieve our car rental registration papers that we had left in the apartment after he had left for vacation! We had a fantastic and comfortable stay and would definetly return!

i am buddhist, dj and work with social networks. i think i'm an easy going, relaxed person. i can do i good pasta, and some other food, and i really enjoy music, movies and meeting new people. although the best thing is preserve the friends i already have. not easy, but really worthy, isn't it? your booking includes: > one breakfast (maybe exchangeable for a dinner) > a bottle of watter > fresh clean towel > map of barcelona also, if you wanna make part of the project "open Your Mind" just bring a bottle openner from your city/country. its an art instalation. the sentence open your mind will be surrounded by as many as possible bottle openners =)
