The hotel is in a central location in the backpacker district with abundant shops, restaurants, and attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful and the room is clean with adequate amenities. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The downside to the central location is that the street is loud, however this particular street is quieter than most. However, we definitely recommend Especen Hotel for a comfortable and convenient stay in Hanoi.
Our only disappointment was the organized tour booked through the hotel. It was more of an issue with the tour company, which chose to combine a large Japanese group with our English group to save money. The "English tour" of Halong Bay essentially became a Japanese tour with a few breaks for an English explanation. We were also forced to stop at a 30 min "rest stop" during a 3 hour trip for the pure purpose of ripping off the Japanese tourists at an overpriced shop. Considering we were already 1 hour late our group was not pleased. It was an awful experience, so please do not book through the hotel (there are plenty of agencies nearby).
Nice service, friendly and top location. Direct in the city. Honestly, I expected a little bit more of this hotel. Pictures are sometimes too perfect :) but It's absolutely ok for this money. I don't wanna complain!
Thanh was incredibly helpful and arranged for my friend and I to be picked up from the airport- even though I had a three hour flight delay, I was still safely picked up and delivered to the hotel. Great location, helpful staff, and a spacious, comfortable room. Would stay again!
Very nice host and place in the centre of Hanoi, the room was big clean and tidy. I recommend this place to anyone.
This hotel was very accommodating and welcoming! The people who worked here were very nice and helpful. The building was located downtown but was still hidden in a nice and and secluded area. I will definitely come back on my next visit to Vietnam!
Very nice place. Central and full of life. The room was nice and fitted our needs.
The hotel is quite near the lake and church , people are nice, but the toilet is small and not so clean and the water is not so hot. Not so worthy, but okay.
