My stay at Thanh's boutique hotel in Hanoi was lovely. I arrived on an early morning bus from Dong Hoi, and since my room wasn't ready, I was given another room for the morning so I could catch up on sleep. I also was provided with great information regarding places to eat and things to do. The location of the hotel is nice because it's away from all the crowds, but still close enough to walk to the Old Quarter. I'd definitely stay here again.
The hotel is in a great position in old quarter Hanoi, close to Lake shops cafes etc. The breakfast was very good, fresh fruit yoghurt eggs toast etc. and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The photos are better than what you get, the rooms were a bit old and shabby, and in the higher room we had a very noisy water pump which could be heard all night, although they moved us to 2nd floor and it was better. .
Perfectly fine small hotel. Nothing excellent or terrible about it. Staff were very nice, bathroom could have been cleaner but the room was serviced every day and clean towels provided. Good location right near the cathedral but we had a very difficult time finding the plae as it is tucked down a small laneway. Perhaps ask host for directions when booking. Would bother with the breakfast if it's not included in the room rate. Must try coffee at nearby Cong Caphe!
Host was very friendly and room was as described. Very central and convenient. Particularly helpful with helping us organise our cooking tour and getting us picked up, would recommend!
The hostel is clean and neat as described. Centrally located and by saying that which means it can get noise at night and morning. maybe our unit is on upper floor, we can hear water pump pumping at night. The staff are friendly and helpful. I have to give credit to their quick response on unexpected incident.
We left on the first day after the 4 days public holiday, everyone was back to work and morning traffic was just bad in town. We waited for 35mins and driver still no show. So the staff made a quick decision: he asked a taxi to pull up and took us to the airport just in time. I guess the taxi driver was quite stressed, he took off his jacket, loosen up his tie, turned on the disco music to the loudest and speeding all the way to the airport!
