Our Bed and Breakfast cottage is super-cosy and warm and is set in a quiet cul de sac just an easy 5-10 min walk into Wanaka town centre and lakefront.
Each of the 3 bedrooms has it's own private bathroom (2 have ensuites and the third bedroom has a large private bathroom next door to it) and have Super King or King sized beds. We can make rooms up with double beds or with twin beds as the mattresses all un-zip. Just let us know what suits you and we will make sure it's all ready for you.
The shared guest lounge is really sunny and warm, with a log fire for those winter evenings and leads onto a lovely sunny deck area where we serve afternoon tea in the summer. Free WiFi is available throughout the house.
We always welcome our guests personally with some home baking and a cup of tea / coffee / juice etc and help you with any questions or information you might need for your trip. We are familiar with just about all of the local activities and are more than happy to help you with bookings and recommendations.
In the morning we will cook you a good hot breakfast (fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals etc plus a cooked course such as blueberry pancakes, or eggs and bacon for example). We serve this in our dining area along with any other guests, so it's usually nice and sociable.
Wanaka has loads of activities and is a year-round destination. From excellent walking and biking to sky-diving, paragliding or canyoning, there's something for everyone. The Mt Aspiring National Park is an hour's drive from the town
We run this B&B as a business and enjoy meeting people from all around the World. Criffel Peak View is a sociable and friendly place, we look forward to hosting you :)
There are no cooking facilities in the B&B cottage, guests must go out for dinner.
Check-in is between 2 pm - 7 pm .
If you are going to be later than 7 pm, please let us know so we can make arrangements to meet you
Lovely stay in the ensuite. Breakfast was great and Caroline was an excellent and helpful hostess. She recommended the Rob Roy track which was amazing. The town centre was a quick stroll away.
Caroline welcomed us immediately and showed us where to park our car. She then made tea and coffee for us. She has a great map of Wanaka and the surrounding areas. She made recommendations for hikes and suggested we take the trail up Mt Iron. It took about 1.5 hours but gave a beautiful view over the city and the lake.
Breakfast the next morning was delicious. We appreciated the warm hospitality Caroline showed everyone. Would highly recommend staying with them.
Caroline and Susie are really nice hosts, we got excellent breakfast and enjoyed gathering together and share traveling experiences. The bed is very comfortable. And they also helped us planning our day
Our stay in Caroline's place was exceptional. The apartment was extremely clean and spacious. The view was amazing. The breakfast was also top notch. Everything was far above average. Highly recommend if you're planning on staying around Lake Wanaka. Caroline also knows the area and all activities and was more than willing to help us.
Beautiful and clean with fabulous hostess!
Suzie and Caroline are dream hostesses. They welcome you with tea and pastries, and are curious, helpful, and kind every minute. We loved the wonderful bathtub that comes with the room of twin beds. Even though the bath is outside the room, we were never uncomfortable, and robes are provided if you like. The breakfasts were huge, delicious, and lively with guests from around the globe.
It was a great pleasure staying at Criffel Peak View. Great people and great place. Caroline are extremely wellcoming and helpful and makes great pancakes. We warmly recommend Criffel Peak and would love to stay there again if we ever come back to NZ.
Caroline was a brilliant host - extremely knowledgeable, friendly, opinionated and amusing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all her advice, including details of the road conditions which was really helpful in adverse weather conditions. Her enthusiasm for Wanaka is infectious and we would have liked to spend longer there.

Caroline and Suzie are both orginally from the UK but have lived in NZ for 15 years. We are both keen skiers and love mountain-hiking, biking and running. Suzie is golf-mad and tries to play at least twice a week!
Wanaka is a fantastic place to live and we have run our accommodation business for the past 8 years. We love meeting people from all around the World and helping them have a great trip.
