In a fully renovated century home in downtown, a small guest room for a single person. It is great to have privacy and your bathroom on the same floor. And a terrace to read books during the day and enjoy a glass of wine as the sun goes down.
We have two cats, El Polaco and Tita, tourist friendly and polite. :) See photos. Almost everyone falls in love with them.
We are a few meters from a traditional milonga, but in Buenos Aires you can find many different types: Alternative, queer, tourist

The space

We love this old house, reformed respecting its original architecture. It is on the second floor, without elevator. Our cool and comfortable apartment with exposed brick has a true city feeling! It comfortably fits one and is centrally located on a quiet street, just three blocks from 9 de Julio Avenue. Enjoy roof access and easy access to all major subway lines!
You can use the washing machine, the kitchen, the fridge and the phone for local calls. We have two kitten, very curious. We do not smoke. If you smoke, only at the terrace, please.
We have a terrace, with chairs, deck, hammocks and umbrellas to allow you a tranquil day reading, checking emails or sleeping. We also have two lovely and polite cats: El Polaco and Tita.

It is our small guest room, on the first floor of our apartment, independent and quiet, with a private bathroom, closet, and WiFi. The room has a single bed and a second pull-out bed underneath, a light table, a work table, a couple of chairs and a wardrobe 2.50 m x 2.00 m. The bathroom is complete, with bath.

Our house is two blocks from the subway E line; that connects with Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Cathedral, and the Bank district ( 5 minutes). It's also 3 blocks from the 9 de Julio Avenue and the Subway C line (Teatro Colón, Obelisco, Corrientes Av., Avenida de Mayo, café Tortoni). There is a lot of public transportation to La Boca, Palermo, Belgrano, Villa Crespo and Recoleta. It is also ideal for walking to the City Center, San Telmo, Puerto Madero.

Six blocks from here you can find many restaurants (especially Spanish and Italian), pizzerías and typical Argentine "parrillas". My suggestion is to have a meal at a popular and cheap one, El Gijón, four block from our house. Do not forget to try it!

Guest access

In our kitchen, you can use the refrigerator, washing machine and the microwave. You only have to let everything as it was before. We have a good library in Spanish and Portuguese, a collection of poetry and photography books and a CD collection with Brazilian music, tango and jazz.

Other things to note

We have two cats. We do not smoke. We love bikes and tango. You can use one of our bikes.

Eduardo and Gisele were extremely accommodating and helpful. They provided me with a map of the city, suggested places to visit, helped me get around, and even took me to a tango class. I think my favorite part was chatting with them during breakfast. The room/apartment was just like the pictures and I found it quite cozy. The neighborhood was not fancy nor the quietest but at no point did I feel unsafe. It was easily within walking distance to bus/metro stops which made getting around the city very easy. Overall, they were great hosts who really helped me enjoy my first time to Buenos Aires! ¡Muchas gracias!

Response from Eduardo & Gisele:
Muchas gracias Jeremy! Saludos!

Eduardo and Gisele were lovely hosts and made me feel welcome as soon as I walked in their beautiful home. Both were a great to talk to (and were very patient with me while I practiced my Spanish) and were always prepared with suggestions of things to do in Bs.As. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and had a private bathroom; even though I visited in the winter, it was warm enough to sit on the terrace one of the days I visited, which was fantastic. The cats were as lovely as their owners. =) ¡Muchas gracias, Eduardo y Gisele por su hospitalidad!

Eduardo and Gisele are great hosts. They provided me with excellent information and resources about getting around the city and sights and things to do. They invited me to a tango class and show which was a fun experience and I got the sense that it was a truly porteno experience. The apartment is within walking distance from the center of the city or a very short walk to the subway.

Eduardo and Gisele (although she was away for a portion of my stay) were very amicable hosts. Perfectly willing to have conversation but also conscious of giving adequate space. The power went out halfway through my stay, but Eduardo nevertheless made the experience worthwhile by providing candles and by always being willing to offer advice. I even got a parting gift from them, which was incredibly sweet. It's a trip I'll remember for a lifetime, and I was only in BA for two days.

Hola Carey! Vimos ayer que se había desconfigurado el termostato del agua, no estaba muy caliente! Espero que hayas podido utilizarla. Y es buena tu sugerencia de cortinas black out, la tenemos en cuenta! Buen viaje!

Eduardo and Gisele were amazing hosts during my stay in Buenos Aires. They gave me maps and books, a public transportation card, and many suggestions on what to do. They were able to answer any and all questions I had as well. They are both well seasoned travelers, so are a wealth of information. Gisele made several Brazilian dishes for me, including a Brazilian soup! It is difficult to find good soup in Argentina for some reason. They even took me out to a tango lesson, live band, and tango show the last night I was there. Super hosts! The apartment was located very close to several bus stops and subway line E. Which I really didn't need for most of my time there as Eduardo let me use his bike. On a bike you can literally go every where in Buenos Aires. The room was on the second floor, very comfortable and private with access to the rooftop. The apartment was safe and secure. I highly recommend this listing.

Giselle and Eduardo were lovely. They were welcoming and gracious in sharing their home. They invited me out with them one night to a tango lesson, which was really fun. They were very helpful in getting me familiar with the buses and subway and gave me lots of suggestions for things to do and see. The room was small but clean and cozy. I would recommend staying here if someone is visiting Buenos Aires.

About Eduardo & Gisele

Hi, I´m Eduardo, "porteño" born in Buenos Aires and architect. Gisele, my wife is Brazilian and journalist. We love Buenos Aires and Rio-, and we try to be in both cities all the times we can.
We live in Monserrat, near San Telmo. We love to dance tango, reading, listening to his music and walk in this city, or bike, because B A is lovely flat. We like the architecture, the history, the tango and the music of this city.
We hope that the apartment taht we rent in Palermo Viejo (now called Soho by the estate) help many people to know Buenos Aires, its people and all the intangibles of this city: the magic of listening to tango, the fascination for the dance, the charm of its streets or parks, delicious bookstores, eclectic architecture of Avenida de Mayo and San Telmo, or the multitude of cafes and small bars, national passion ...

Gisele is also the representative in Buenos Aires of the RentALocalFriend network. She knows the B side of Buenos Aires, and is very good dancer of tango (in a couple of years, also a teacher). If you want to know the city "renting" a local friend, you can look for her refeences in trip advisor or even .
Bienvenidos a Buenos Aires !
