Located in a quaint neighborhood, at the heart of the city, this is a private cosy room within a charming old style apartment. Here we welcome the Airbnb community and share with you our insights on what to do, eat and see in our lovely Lisbon.
We are a young couple living in downtown Lisbon. I'm graduated in fine arts, a cook at a local vegan restaurant and a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine. My partner in life, Filipe, is a screenwriter. We live in a charming apartment in a privileged central location in and we have enjoyed sharing it with airbnb travelers for over 2 years now.
We have a second apartment on the same building we keep for friends and family. Whenever we are not greeting anyone we make it available for the Airbnb comunity.
Our second apartment has 3 bedrooms and a living room, a nicely equipped kitchen and a full bathroom. Current listing if for a private, single bed room. You would be sharing the flat with other airbnb guests.
We have a biological supermarket 2 minutes away, restaurants, bars and great coffee shops just around the corner and, we are as close as we can possibly be to Bairro Alto, the "night district", without actually being in there. We are quietly close to the buzz...
We are 3 minutes away from the subway station and buses, and we also have the Portuguese old fashion trams circulating around some of the oldest parts of town.
You couldn't be better located if what you like is to be downtown. We are in a traditional neighborhood close to historical monuments as well as everything that is happening ether nighttime or daytime. Yet our street is calm and quiet so you get the best of two worlds, you are close to the buzz of the city in a street that is more like a village.
We are both currently engaged in several activities, so our availability to hang out, show the cool spots or simply chat with our guests varies a lot. We might not be able to greet you personally, in witch case we will leave the keys somewhere in the neighborhood. But if given the time and opportunity we love to hang out with guests, get to know them and share our favorite parts of town.
The street we live in leads to a small square were there is always street performances and even a flee market on weekends. We also know some farmers markets not far from here.
Please use common sense and don't burn down the house ;)
You will be given your own set of keys on check in, so you can roam in and out freely; You will find your room clean and fresh linens and towels. If we forget any thing let us know we are both free creative spirits and can sometimes be a little distracted :)
Please DO NOT leave garbage throughout the house, we have a recycling area in the house and a basket for organic waist under the sink in the kitchen. We also request that you care for the common areas, living room/dining room, balcony, kitchen, and bathroom. Please try to leave things as much, as you can, as you fond them.
We are not allowed to make loud noises after 10 pm on week days (midnight on Friday and Saturday) or before 8 am by Portugal's good neighborhood laws... as well as universal common sense.
If you have any issue, need anything or miss anything in your room please let us now and we will try to help. Feed back is the best and fastest way to learn how to get better at anything in life... and that's pretty much it!
We hope to see you soon ;)
Ana & Filipe
It was definitely a wonderful expierence staying at Ana's house. Very cozy, very (very, very, very!) well located. The house is exactly as you can see it in the photos and Ana made sure everything was perfect; she was very nice when I met her. I will come back to her house if I come back to Lisbon any time soon :-)
As I arrived rather early in the morning the host was trusting enough to leave a key. I enjoyed the apartment as if it were my home. When Ana arrived later in the day she was very cheerful and helpful.
The street is quiet day and night yet only a short walk to many active spots, sunny plazas with cafes, several museums and churches to visit. 5 minute walk to main plaza (Rossio). A simple home but charming. Very comfortable bed. Clean and efficient. Coffee and teas always available and basics in the kitchen to prepare snacks or full meals. A great find!
A Ana foi muito simpática e prestativa em tudo, e o apartamento estava em ótimo estado quando eu cheguei. Como anfitriã ela me indicou ótimos lugares na cidade e me recebeu muito bem. Recomendo a estadia e certamente me hospedarei novamente quando voltar à Lisboa.
Staying at Ana's place was one great idea. Not only it is located within walking distance from two train station, two underground stations, and couple of places you want to see in Lisbon, it offers a cosy nest to stay. Just don't forget you stayat the heart of an old town, so pebble stones pavements and stares. :-(
The appartment has three separate bedrooms, common room, equipted kitchen, and bathroom with tube, so you can have both company and privacy when needed.
Last but not least, Ana is an amazing wonderful person, just don't be shy and ask her about places to go to eat, to shop, to sightsee, or just cruise. I followed her recommendations and was more than excited.
Everything was perfect. I liked the apartment, which is very cozy and fully equipped with all necessary things. The location is also very good – near the central metro stations and historic districts. Ana is quite pleasant host, she helped me with every my question, gave useful advices. I recommend this place by all means.

Hi! My name is Ana and I am kind of a pixie — small, nagging and a geek. I’ve spent the first half of my life in the small island were I was born. As I grew up, I had a clear view of the Atlantic Ocean and to what I thought were dolphins but later turned out to be tuna fish. I wanted to become a mermaid and paint on my time off… from being a mermaid. The second half... well that has been a crazy ride.
I've graduated from sculpture, stop motion and culinary arts and am now a student again, this time of Traditional Chinese Medicine :)
Besides being an Airbnb host, I do cooking workshops and I cooperate with a local vegan restaurant in Moraria, one of the oldest, and more charismatic, neighborhoods in Lisbon.
My favorite things in the world are eating, or any food related activity, going to the cinema with my screenwriter partner, spending time with my nephews, watching Japanese anime (or reading manga) and studying MTC.
I like to make my own cosmetics, house cleaning products and granola :) I like to support the animal killing industry as little as I can and the local farmers and much as I can. I like to reuse, recycle, and upcycle.
I lived in France for my Erasmus and in New York and LA for my boyfriend's Master in screen writing. So I'm comfortable with both English and French.
One of the happiest moments in my life was when I was cooking in a hostel in Lisbon. I love to exchange food and ideas with people from around the world, it's my secret recipe for low cost traveling and to keep and open mind.
The other happiest moment is now :)
