Interaction with Guests
I live right upstairs if you need anything, and I'm always available, but once you check in you'll have the place to yourself.
Columbia Heights is a fantastic place to live and visit. Convenient to everything going on in DC, the Columbia Heights Metro stop is your easy link to downtown monuments and museums. You can walk to restaurants and bars just up 11th st. or enjoy the fountain and community vibe in the Columbia Heights center near the Tivoli Theater. U St. is a short walk to even more nightlife, restaurants, weekend flea markets, and even more shops. You'll really be in the middle of it all!
The metro Green/Yellow line is just a few blocks away, and is a short 5 stop trip down to the monuments and museums without having to change trains. About 30 minutes door to door. It couldn't be easier!

Communication is the key, let me know what type of schedule you are going to be keeping and I'll be as accommodating as I can. I live here with my two dogs and my baker girlfriend in the floors above this apartment. I work weekends and she works weekdays but both of our schedules are very flexible. Once you're checked in you're free to come and go as you please, and use the shared laundry or hang out in the back yard by the koi pond. If you have any questions please ask, We love this place and think you will too...
Everything about this place was great. A funky pad with so much personality. Everything was provided, and there was even breakfast food available.
Joel couldn't have been more agreeable and has really gone out of his way to make the place very friendly with bear unmatched amenities. My first Airbnb experience was a great one. Thanks Joel.
Joel was great as a host and was very welcoming. Easy to communicate with and even gave us some good tips for places around the neighborhood! The apartment itself was funky & cool and we even got a parking pass which made it easy to get in & out to see the rest of DC. Definitely recommend Joel's place if you're staying in the area!
Joel has created a fun and unique apartment experience. He was quite hospitable, offering bar and restaurant recommendations without being overbearing or invasive. The apartment was as described and is essentially a refurbished basement unit with many services to stay connected. The only issue for me was the low ceilings - at 6'4", it was a bit of a challenge in certain areas. Would definitely return.
Staying with Joel was great! The area was pretty hip and very nice to just walk around in general. We were able to cook breakfast daily and take nice, hot showers. We generally were out majority of the day and really only were there to sleep and eat a quick breakfast before heading out. Would definitely recommend to anyone! He was super communicative about everything and even checked to see if we got back home safely!
So great, Joel was accommodating and friendly and a great dude with plenty of iphone chargers. Sound system is amazing and easy, drums are clutch if you're a bit peeved after meeting people on Washington, everything is super comfy. Best Airbnb to date.
Joel was a great host and the place was perfect for our stay. The apartment is quirky, fun and cozy (but a little cold even with space heaters).
