Interaction with Guests
I live right upstairs if you need anything, and I'm always available, but once you check in you'll have the place to yourself.
Columbia Heights is a fantastic place to live and visit. Convenient to everything going on in DC, the Columbia Heights Metro stop is your easy link to downtown monuments and museums. You can walk to restaurants and bars just up 11th st. or enjoy the fountain and community vibe in the Columbia Heights center near the Tivoli Theater. U St. is a short walk to even more nightlife, restaurants, weekend flea markets, and even more shops. You'll really be in the middle of it all!
The metro Green/Yellow line is just a few blocks away, and is a short 5 stop trip down to the monuments and museums without having to change trains. About 30 minutes door to door. It couldn't be easier!
In addition I rent bikes on Spinlister. Just use your favorite search engine to find "profile/15341 on Spinlister"
Communication is the key, let me know what type of schedule you are going to be keeping and I'll be as accommodating as I can. I live here with my two dogs and my baker girlfriend in the floors above this apartment. I work weekends and she works weekdays but both of our schedules are very flexible. Once you're checked in you're free to come and go as you please, and use the shared laundry or hang out in the back yard by the koi pond. If you have any questions please ask, We love this place and think you will too...
Joel was a great host and the place was perfect for our stay. The apartment is quirky, fun and cozy (but a little cold even with space heaters).
Great place with a great host. Joel was extremely kind and accommodating and didn't hesitate to invite us up to his place to check out his amazing collection and hang out with his two very sweet dogs. His place was clean and comfortable (the board games, pinball machine and computer were definitely a plus), and he was responsive and helpful when recommending restaurants and bars to visit around the neighborhood. Joel even left us a bottle of wine, which I thought was very sweet. Overall a perfect experience.
The apartment was just as pictured- plenty of space for 3 of us. Perfect location for our visit to see our daughter nearby. Joel was a great host & responded quickly any request. Being able to bring our dog was an added perk.
Joel has a fantastic property, in a very convenient location for all the usual touristy stuff and the blurry sites of u street. Lots of information given before and during the stay, highly recommended
Description is accurate. You can hear the dogs in the morning. Didn't bother me, I could imagine others caring. 8-10min to metro. Close to a couple major bus lines (64,54,S4,H2).
Joel's a nice guy. Didn't really interact much, wasn't any need.
Joel was absolutely wonderful to work with. Our reservation was last minute and we arrived into the city pretty late at night. Joel was super friendly and even stood in a parking space to hold it for us. He and his girlfriend brought us a bottle of wine after our long, 16 hour trip. He never seemed annoyed that we had three small children and encouraged them to make themselves at home and even to play his drum set and pinball machine the next morning. He was easily available to answer any questions via text, and he lives right upstairs from the apartment. He gave us an amazing suggestion for a breakfast spot, which turned out to be our favorite meal of the trip. Overall, we couldn't have asked for anything else from Joel and his amazingly chill apartment. Thanks again Joel, we will definitely stay at your place or your girlfriend's place when we return and have already passed the word on to our friends.
We had a great experience at Joel's place! The apartment was just as it was depicted in the photographs. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.
We loved the pinball machine and being able to play our music through the speaker system. Overall super cool and fun place to stay. Joel was also an extremely attentive host. He was there when we checked in and texted us to see if we needed anything. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the D.C area!
