Comfortable seating area with large coffee table, the sofa can be pulled out into a queen size bed.
One of the best Airbnb experiences I've had! Joel provided us with a parking pass, making parking on the street right out front easy. He made us feel super welcome, even allowing us to do some much needed laundry. Very comfortable basement apartment with a pinball machine, Netflix, ac, fridge, everything you can think of. Joel gave us binder full of recommendations, maps of the area, and menus for restaurants near by. Definitely staying here again on future D.C. trips.
Very good experience! Joel was flexible with move-in time, and provided a quick walk through and suggestions for nearby restaurants and places to visit!
Joel's place was awesome and wonderfully decorated! Comfortable bed, couch, cable TV, and poptarts! Everything was clean and comfortable and Joel was extremely welcoming. The neighborhood is fun and diverse and it's a quick walk to the metro!
Joel's place is a funky little haven in Columbia Heights and Joel was a great host. I was there in the heat of summer and the place was cool with the brand new air conditioner unit and clean. It is a basement with low ceilings (and shower head) so just be aware if you are tall (I am 6'3") and the entry under the front porch may be a little off putting to those used to a hotel like stay, but if you like character Joel's has got that in spades. I even got a few games of Xenon in. Thanks Joel!
Joel was a great host! He was responsive to questions by text or door knock and seemed to have thought of everything as the apartment was outfitted with umbrellas, take out menus, and some smart cards for the metro. The place was super cool and was great for my husband and me and our tiny dog. It was convenient to the metro, many chain restaurants, a street with local fare, and some cool bars. Would stay again!
Walking into this bottom floor bungalow left me with a gasp of excitement. The colors of red, white, and black all complimenting of the eclectic decor. In one side of the room holds a full stacked drum kit and xylphone (both allowed to be played!). This spacious studio-style spot has a record player, board games, and interesting books on architecture. When arriving Joel made sure to be more than accomditating, leaving us a binder full of local eateries, maps, and things to do in dc. The two friends I stayed with were intrigued by the pinball machine in the room, which let's you play as many free games as you desire. Joel even leaves snacks; sea salt chips, plums, and smores pop tarts. This place really encompasses the diversity of DC in it's colorful decor. Its a clean, spacious studio with plenty of things to keep you busy, and figuring out what they might be. There were copious amounts of fresh clean towels and basic/essential toiletries in the bathroom. We would happily stay here once more and will be recommending to others.
We had a great time at Joel's. A perfect space for a mini stay-cation and a night on the town. I was a bit worried because I am super allergic to dogs, but the apartment was so clean, I would never have known the dogs had been there (although I would have loved to meet them).
