TheBunkHaus OTR

Dorm - Shared room · Main St, Cincinnati, OH 45202, United States

The Space

The city’s only Dormitory/Hostel Style accommodation for travelers.
April 2014 Guests - You must book at least two nights! I will be on vacation so one night would not be worth making arrangements while I am away. But if you book two nights, a bunk mate will be here to greet you and show you around.
BunkHaus OTR:
Owner Susan Angel, with the help of talented friends and community, revitalized the building using up-cycled and reclaimed materials, creating an organic, Earth-friendly atmosphere. the Bunk Haus OTR provides comfy bunks, rooms adorned with unique art, mosaic tile floors, and accommodates 5 guests. A really cool, I mean HOT steam room ($5 donation) gives guests a chance to relax with aromas of mint extract and eucalyptus! Step into the common area's kitchenette to mix up some fresh local food and enjoy the Fuel Gallery ambiance of local art, music and community.

  • This place is really awesome. There's a few really cool shops, venues, and bars in walking distance.
Susan was cool herself and was very helpful. 5 stars.

  • Really nice place! Friendly and quirky, easy walking to the night life amenities of the beautiful artsy Over the Rhine district. Very glad Susan is running this place, can't wait to come back.

  • Susan is a great host! Warm, welcoming, she's never met a stranger! The location is fantastic - walk to anything downtown and frequent bus service to other areas. I will stay again anytime. Even if I'm passing through I'd want to stop to see my new friend Susan.

  • I had a great experience at The Bunk Haus. Susan is awesome. She has created a really awesome place. I would happily stay there again and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Cincinnati.

  • I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cincinnati. Susan is the most open, welcoming and hospitable host. I loved the combination of a warm, homey vibe retaining and reflecting the creative atmosphere of the OTR neighborhood. Super location: great coffee, restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Access local bus routes. Can walk downtown easily. Thanks Bunk Haus!

  • I absolutely love the Bunkhaus. This is my second time staying and I must say that I do love downtown living! Susan is super cool, accommodating, warm, friendly and her house is an artists' dream. Her place is kid-friendly as I've had my daughter with me both times and she really enjoyed herself. She's even played with Susan's granddaughter several times who is super cute and funny! With all the bad weather lately, no worries. There were nice fluffy comforters for snoozing and Susan makes a killer broccoli cheese soup. Delish!

  • Susan was incredibly hospitable and made every aspect of my stay as enjoyable as possible. My only regret was not being able to spend more time hanging out with her and her Over the Rhine-ian gang. Every guest was respectful and interesting. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Susan & The Guys (Greg & Chris) They are real Angels, Ghettopia & Cincy are lovely,,,,Susan was not even in town, it was too cold & I was sick coz I got all that snow storm in Indianapolis, Susan made sure that I got there safe & Greg filled me in w/ all I needed & wanted to know about that lovely city, the place is cozy, clean, its also an art gallery on a artcy street (Main St). I can't wait to go back!!!!

  • A great place to stay, especially on a budget. Susan is very welcoming and full of suggestions and the bunk haus is located pretty close to some great coffee and restaurants. It's definitely no frills and very basic, but it was perfect for the price.

  • I was driving in a snowstorm from Va and the heat in my car went out, long cold drive in bad conditions. I arrived very late and Susan was waiting to let me in with two hot stones to warm my hands. The room was warm and quiet, and bunk was snug. Up early and back on the road, wish I could have hung out longer but I was on a mission to the Chicago Contemporary Circus Festival. I would stay there again:)

Visit "ghettopia" the little Bunk Haus on Main st....Over The Rhine...in the Heart of Cincinnati! You are so welcome here! Some amazing experiences were my Travels, to Molokai, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Barcelona, India, and I taught on the Navajo Reservation, Nenahnezad, New Mexico, very beautiful lands!!! I lived in the high hills of Eastern Kentucky and off the grid in Molakai, HI. I opened the first alternative fuel transportation company in Cincinnati. and ran all vehicles on CNG.
