The tranquil living room. (And yes, that's a real fireplace. Our weather is generally glorious, though, so it rarely gets cold enough to be used!)
Ideal for vegetarians, and those in LA for spiritual retreats, transformational education, nonprofit service, and/or yoga.
Serene, charming home on a lovely tree-lined street in the heart of magical Culver City!
A friend from Rotterdam says we live on "the happy, shiny street" - and it's true. Even though we're centrally located - 5 minutes from both major freeways -- you would not even know you're in LA. Culver City is a small town in a big city. We have a delightful French bistro on the corner, right across the park.
You'll have your own giant private master bedroom, with a huge walk-in closet & private bath. There's a sliding glass door to the yard, so when the weather's warm, breezes waft in.
Our kitchen is equipped for a Raw/Vegan/Vegetarian lifestyle, replete w/eco-appliances, juicers, VitaMix & dehydrator. The water is double-filtered and energized.
We are ideally located on the Westside - it's a 15-minute trip to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Downtown, LAX & UCLA! Sony Pictures is around the corner, and Agape is 10 minutes away.
Parks, swimming, tennis, community garden are all within walking distance. You can also walk to downtown Culver City - where we have fantastic restaurants, the Farmer's market, TJs, theatres, and more.
Everything’s already here… bring your clothes, your laptop and your toothbrush! This is a casual, quiet home, built in 1947, classic Culver City. Oh, and parking is easy, right in front.
Your host: Spiritual, 40s. Runs a benevolent organization. Travels extensively, otherwise works primarily from home. Vegetarian/raw. Humanitarian. Mainstream media free. My home is my sanctuary, a place of peace.
Guest(s): Clear-minded, quiet, optimistic in worldview. Vegetarian (no meat/fish or poultry, at least at home), and free of substances.
Your well-mannered pet (a small to medium-sized dog, or a dog-friendly cat) is warmly welcome, with an additional deposit. Sasha, who resides here, is a sweet-natured rescue, friendly to all animals except, for some reason, squirrels. (I think it's because they taunt her.) She is intrigued by cats, and still doesn't understand why they won't play with her.
There's plenty of room for a single or a couple in the suite. The whole house is available as well, fully furnished, for a minimum 3 months' rental. Rates go down the longer you stay.
House rules are: primarily, respect and a sense of humor. Neatness and quiet are appreciated. Vegetarian cooking only, please (eggs and milk are fine). No smoking or substances (e.g. cigarettes, recreational drugs, hard spirits). Beer and wine are fine (red wine must be taken outside, though). If you do bring a pet (small to medium-sized only, please, and they MUST BE HOUSETRAINED), an additional night's deposit is required.
Kindly note that there is a friendly dog on the property, a sweet rescue, so if you bring your dog we'll introduce everybody outside first and everything will be just fine. You may also bring a cat; she is very respectful of cats, just curious (and a wee bit concerned). The cats usually let her know what's what. ;-)
Out stay with JP has been great! We relocated from another part of the world and thought staying at an Airbnb while we searched for a place would be more personal than at a hotel, and also more convenient since we have 2 cats.
Throughout our stay, JP helped us with tips about where to find a place, where are the good restaurants, where are the places to avoid, what to do on week ends, etc... tons of valuable information :)
Her house is great, well located and very quiet, so no worries on this front, whatsoever.
I'd recommend JP to anyone I know who wants to stay in LA for a bit :)
Staying at JP's sanctuary home was nothing less than a relaxing, pleasant and healing experience - which we needed so much... JP is a great host and a super cool human being. She was always attentive to our needs, very flexible and accommodating and always was there for us, just like a real friend.
It was the perfect space for our healthy raw-vegan lifestyle, and I couldn't imagine a better place for us to stay.
This experience turned into a true friendship, and that's something we value a great deal.
We are so grateful for finding JP's home and looking forward to come back again very soon!
Thank you JP, and thank you AirBNB for the hookup.
With much gratitude,
~Baruch and Maya.
Staying at JP's was just totally awesome! She welcomed us as if we were a part of her family.......she made sure that we were comfortable during our entire stay.
