Fun and relaxed loft in San Telmo!

Apartment - Private room · México 750, Apt, Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina

Enjoy one of the oldest and most charming neighborhoods in Buenos Aires while staying at a colorful, relaxed and quiet haven. Rent a room and get use of practically the whole apartment while also getting guidance from a local. Hope to see you soon!

The Space

****From the end of December to May we won't be here, but our friend Nico, who is a lovely and hospitable person, will be here to take care of anything you may need. He speaks both English and Spanish, is really "buena onda", and is looking forward to meeting you all!****

Private mezzanine in a beautiful apartment in San Telmo, a historical neighborhood full of interesting activities, fantastic restaurants, dreamy antique shops and beautiful streets.
The apartment is a one of a kind space, dating back from 1902 and is a silent haven in the middle of the city. The room has a queen size bed, a desk, a hanger for your clothes and a nightstand. Price includes Wi-Fi internet, sheets and towels (and the laundry service for them) and use of the entire apartment except for our private bedroom. We are an Argentine-American girl, an Irish girl and a Colombian lad. We have always gotten along swimmingly with anyone who has stayed here and are very happy to help with anything a guest may need. The apartment is very laid back, with a peaceful and young environment, the motto here is mi casa es tu casa and we are all friends.
We look forward to seeing you!

****We have cats, so if you're allergic or just plain don't like them please refrain from staying here, they think the house belongs to them and will go into your room, they might even sleep on your bed. They're lovely and friendly, but sometimes a little too friendly for people who don't like them or can't be around them.****

Tip: Bring dollars in cash, there are two exchange rates and the "dollar blue" will benefit you but only if you have bills.

Guest Access

You get your own private mezzanine, of course, with AC and all the basic amenities to a room (desk, hanger, bedside table with lamp, towels and sheets included), use of the kitchen, living room and bathroom. The living room has a great selection of books that you are welcome to borrow and the kitchen has anything you might need for cooking a great meal.

Interaction with Guests

Interaction depends on you, if you want to get a feel of how a local lives or want to share meals and have great conversations, we're always up for that. If you want your own private time we do our best to give it to you. We're open to anything!

The Neighborhood

Get a neighborhoody feel while also living within walking distance of a city's the hustling and bustling.
San Telmo is one of the most charming locations you can find in Buenos Aires, it's a key area if you're getting to know the city and great to stay in as it is very open and friendly but also typically porteño.

Getting around

We're close to two metro stations, loads of bus lines, we're relatively close to Retiro and right next to the center of town. It's an ideal location.

Other Things to Note

We have cats.

  • The flat is really pretty and the room if not private since there is no door is really charming. The cats are really way too friendly and they try to sleep with you, next to you, on top of you and in the end I couldn't sleep so left without staying which was a pity!

  • What a unique, beautiful place to stay. The host's friend Nico was extremely accommodating in arranging check-in and check-out/ key exchange and was extremely welcoming.

  • I had a good stay at Sofia's place. It's a neat loft in a charming unit and the location is quite convenient. Though, Sofia wasn't there, Nico was great to talk to and super friendly guy. Sofia's two gatos were very affectionate and did not hesitate letting me know they own the place. Overall, it was a good experience.

  • wonderful place and good people together

  • The appartment was wonderful. Nico had time left and showed us a little bit of the Buenos Aires. thanks for that. The appartment was good located and it was easily to walk by foot to the city center.

You have to like cats, because if the cats like you too, they will sleep at your bed.

  • This loft suited us very well for the 3 nights we stayed in Buenos Aires. It's a great location and Nico was really helpful with us when it came to currency conversion. However, it's worth clarifying that the room itself is a loft without doors or walls over the kitchen in a shared apartment. That said, there is little privacy. We did not feel our privacy was compromised in anyway at all, but it's not a room with a lock, for example. The bathroom is also shared.

The two kittens are extremely friendly and will sleep in your bed with you! We loved this because we missed our own pets at home.

If you stay here, walk over to Chile street for lots of great cafes and bars then across Defensa for some fun shops. It is a fairly gritty, bohemian neighbourhood, with lots of hostels and tourists.

If you prefer something more prestine, modern, private or luxurious, opt for accomodations in the Palermo Soho district or Recoleta.

All in all, worth the $30/night. And our experience in Buenos Aires was priceless!!

  • The flat is really well located and central in walking distance to many things. It is wonderfully furnished and charming.
Nico is a very nice host and has been a great help in answering all the questions we had!
The cats are very sweet and one is indeed clingy during night time ;-)
It is worth mentioning that it is not a "private" mezzanine, as it is open to the living room and kitchen (on one pic you can see the stairway going down) and you will not be able to close a door behind you (which finally was ok for us).
