Tony was very welcoming and I had a relaxing stay in the beautiful queen bedroom.
My stay was simply perfect. As always, it was the right choice of accommodations to ensure a stress free weekend. Thank you Tony and Maureen for being such gracious hosts and for opening your home to myself and my daughter. We felt welcome and as if we could have stayed for many more days to experience all you and northern Philly have to offer. Great eats, peaceful surroundings and good company. We especially appreciate the generous sized rooms, yoga studio, beautifully preserved Victorian details and look forward to returning again and again! Sue and Jess.
A beautiful and peaceful experience...the many Buddhist and Eastern artworks were a real plus for me. I took the Melrose Park train into my conference in Center City...it was very convenient, and Maureen and Tony were great, low-key hosts.
Our family had a great stay in Tony's house, peaceful neighbourhood, friendly accommodation, very comfortable rooms and elegant decorations inside the house, no mention the healthy breakfast and the nice talk with the host. Appreciate all you did for us. Thank you.
The house is beautiful and very comfortable. Easy walking distance to the train, then a straight shot to Philly. Toni and Maureen were very accommodating hosts, and were very respectful of my preferences.
My american friend Marianne & I spent 3 nights with Tony & Maureen in their lovely character home in a beautiful and safe feeling part of Philadelphia. We had delicious breakfasts each morning with fresh fruit and tea and coffee was always available. I felt comfortable using their kitchen to prepare an evening meal when we decided to stay in one wet evening.
It was a case of right people in the right place and Maureen and Tony were especially sensitive to Marianne's needs, with the recent loss of her husband. Their warmth, compassion and understanding were just what Marianne needed. Tony, thanks so much for sharing some of your knowledge with us. We came away refreshed and relaxed after exploring historical aspects of Philadelphia. Maureen and Tony were very helpful with their suggestions of what to do and we loved the local 1950's diner, the City Tavern in Old Town, which they recommended and ended our stay with a tour of the Beth Sholom Synagogue by Frank Lloyd Wright, less than 10 minutes away from their home. While the train is at the end of their street, we took the car in to Philadelphia CBD, only 20-30 minutes away and found economical car parking in a garage, at the Curtis Center, right beside Independence Hall. All in all if you're going to explore Philadelphia, Tony and Maureen's home is the right place to start. Because they have a number of rooms, they are well suited to a wide variety of group sizes and combinations. It was interesting talking with another guest visiting from Canada, something we enjoy doing - just meeting people from all walks of life.
We wish Tony & Maureen well with their enchanting property.
Thanks so much Marianne for your lovely review. It was delightful having you and Marilyn here, and Tony and I felt right at home with you. We hope to stay in touch with Marilyn. We may even know someone in her area who does the same type of work we do. I'm looking in to that.
Hope you had a great trip back to New Zealand and maybe we'll see you again sometime.
All the best to you.
Maureen and Tony

About the Host, Tony
My wife and I teach relationship seminars, breathwork ,and yoga and organize different wellness events. We love our work and are used to people being in our home for residential weekends and events. We love hosting people here. Maureen isa newly trained Yoga teacher and she loves Yin Yoga in particular. We travel regularly to New York and love the balance we have between New York energy and the lush greenness that surrounds us in the area we live in in Philadelphia.
