The Space

I have a beautiful, holistically oriented, southwest style home with 2 guest bedrooms and guest bath. The house is traditional Santa Fe with Mexican tiled floors, vigas and posts and numerous windows and skylights.
Guests have full use of the well-equipped kitchen, spacious yard (fruit trees, small pond, beautiful gardens), sunroom and other parts of the house. There is wi-fi throughout the house.
The guest bedrooms and bathroom are very separate from the master bedroom (my bedroom) so there is plenty of privacy.
The house is conveniently located a straight line to the Santa Fe Plaza (3.5 miles) in a completely safe residential neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. We are 5 blocks from a great walking trail that passes through Museum Hill and goes all the way up to Mount Atalaya.
You can rent 1 or both bedrooms depending on the size of your party (up to 3 people)..
In addition to myself, Patty and Tessa, my two friendly, well-behaved healer mutts live in the house. They will accept as much affection as they can get from guests but also respect privacy.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to welcoming you to Santa Fe.

  • Laura was a wonderful host. Her house is in a nice quiet neighborhood convenient to the plaza. Laura really made us feel at home and very accommodating. It was a pleasure to get to know her. We would definitely stay with her again while visting Santa Fe.

  • Our first time with Airbnb and Laura was a perfect host. She was very respectful of privacy yet always accessible to chat. The room and bath are nicely laid out and away from the main living space and host's sleeping room so privacy is comfortable. There is a nice outdoor area for dining or hanging out and the two BEST DOGS a dog-deprived visitor could want!

Thanks Laura for making our stay so enjoyable.

  • We enjoyed a wonderful week at Laura's peaceful home. It was the perfect distance for a walk into town (Plaza) and very central for accessing hiking areas in different areas of New Mexico. Her dogs - Tessa and Patty were delightful and Laura was a great host - always there to answer any questions we had. We can't wait to visit again!

  • What a treat to stay in Laura's gorgeous home! Frankly, it was hard to leave. It's a spacious home with fabulous art and a sunroom off the dining area that was our lazy afternoon reading space. The location of the house is a direct line from downtown Santa Fe, which made it very convenient. Another great feature: Laura directed us to the arroyo not far from her home which is a great walking trail that leads to Museum Hill. What a bonus! We would certainly stay at her home again if the opportunity arises.

  • Airbnb and Santa Fe were two firsts for me!

I came to Santa fe for a four-day creative/spiritual boot camp. I arrived late Monday evening and departed immediately after my session on Friday.

Embarking on new creative adventures in unfamiliar surroundings/city can be simultaneously exciting with hints of uneasiness, but I could not have had a more PERFECT HOST than Laura!

Laura's home was beautiful with wonderful artwork throughout, and relaxing sounds of a waterfall/pond immediately outside one of the bedrooms.

Laura was very accommodating, considerate, and a great conversationalist, who struck a perfect balance between providing the "privacy/solitude" feel of a hotel-like experience, and levels of engagement.

The first order of business (the morning after my arrival) was an introduction to the ritual of befriending Tessa and Patty :). Tessa and Patty are lovely and were well trained to be considerate of guests as well!! Laura was always quietly available in case I had any questions/concerns about anything, and provided wonderful insights about Santa Fe culture over a nice cup of hot tea on the third night of my stay.

I just hope that "Casa Laurita" has openings during my next visit to Santa Fe!!

  • Laura and her furry friends were so warm and welcoming, we felt right at home! The house is truly a peaceful oasis and Laura is the ultimate host. She was more than willing to share her local knowledge of all the best activities and food. We look forward to staying again!

  • We spent 5 wonderful days in Laura's Home.

The very attractive adobe house was exactly as described and it was nice to be able to relax in the sitting rooms, use the kitchen for the meals we ate in Lauras's house, being able to store in her refrigerator milk, cheeses, etc...

The bed was excellent and the house spotless.

The 2 dogs are amazingly trained and friendly.

For our 1st experience with "airbnb", we were very pleased and would willingly recommend Laura's house to friends

  • Laura was a terrific host and her home was ideal. She is in a great part of town, so I was a quick drive from anything I needed. If you are taking a photo workshop at the Santa Fe Workshops, I would highly recommend staying here since it is so close to the campus and more comfortable than their accommodations (and less expensive, too). Laura's dogs are also a cheerful presence!

About
It's important to me to live in a peaceful space surrounded by nature. I like to grow vegetables (even in winter in my greenhouse) and flowers, fruit trees and and outdoor vegetable garden in summer. My two dogs and I (for different reasons) love to watch the wild birds at the feeders and the small pond in the back yard. I love travelling and and meeting travelers. Welcoming people to my home and city is a great privilege for me. I work at a local social service agency and when not at work, I take yoga and dance classes and go on the nearby trails with the dogs.
