Glyfada is a suburb of Athens, situated in the southern parts of the Athens Metropolitan Area. The area, which is home to many of Greece's millionaires, ministers and celebrities, stretches out from the foot of the Hymettus mountain and reaches out to embrace the Saronic Gulf. It is the largest of Athens' southern suburbs. This fashion-conscious suburb is known in Greece for its up market cafes, well-known restaurants, boutiques and cosmopolitan summer clubs; Glyfada has also been called "Knightsbridge-on-Sea","Hellenic Hamptons",or the "Beverly Hills of Greece".On the quay at Glyfada is a rescue and rehabilitation centre for sea turtles, run by ARCHELON, the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece. The staff there provides free educational tours of the facilities and treatments for visitors.
Our apartment is located in the city center, a few minutes away from the sea. On the 4th floor of a five floor building has a great sea view. Everything is in walking distance to the apartment. Super markets, tavernas, fast food, grocery, candy shops and retail shops, clubs, bars.
The apartment has a master twin bedroom, a second one with a double bed, one bathroom, an open kitchen and living room, a balcony with sea view.
The building has an outdoor swimming pull and barbeque and also a play room on the ground floor with a magnificent garden.
The neighborhood is peacefull though it is a block away from the city center. Across the street you will find a super market, bakery, pharmacy, gym.
Public transport is a block away from the house. Buses and tram. You could find taxis also in the same area.
The apartment has a unique position in one of the most famous and rich suburbs of Athens.
The apartment was great. A well equiped new kitchen, a good bed, a washingmachine, a big balcony, a very nice view (6th floor) and always a hot shower. There are nice details in the apartment, like old wooden doors and carpets. Lina and ms. Panagoti are very friendly and helpfull. The apartment is near Dafni metrostation. By metro you can reach in 4-5 stops the centre of Athens and you are at Monasteraki/Plaka, Acropolis, Acropolis-museum, Roman Agora, Syntagma, Omonia en National Museum.
The on the website mentioned bus X97 to the airport didn't operate when I was there. That's no problem because there are other possible connections between the apartment and the airport (metro/train, metro/bus, taxi or transfer arranged by Lina).
A great place to stay!
The flat is very well located. Lina is very kind and very helpful. Closed too the flat you have a small shop to buy everything, where the guy speak well english! Also a good bakery! In the flat, you have everything you need. Thank you so much Lina!
Fantastic location!!! Close to public transport and all of the main neighborhoods and sights. Very nice apartment and Lina and Fanis were amazing. Always available and quick to communicate. They no longer have the washer but there is wifi! Good trade off :) just be careful because we accidentally used ours up too quickly by video chatting. Other than that, only complaint was that the neighbors threw a party one of the nights and it was SO loud it seemed they were actually in the apartment with us and they partied until 5:30 AM. Nothing that was in the control of Lina though and we still wouldn't have changed where we stayed! Thank you so much!
A nice apartment, old but clean and well preserved, in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, close to the main attraction of Athens but not in the touristic center. Lina and Fanis were kind and helpful and the overall experience was positive. The only disadvantage is that the bed is more a 1.5 then a double bed.
Great place and a great host!! Lina was very helpful, easily reachable at anytime and willing to help out with any issues.
Lina was very kind and helpful!!
The house was in perfect state and we've really enjoyed our stay in Mykonos.
We really recommend Lina's villa as it is quiet, not far away from everything and the view is amazing!!
The apartment was great and convenient but the start of our stay was problematic. We needed to arrive late at night after travelling from the Alinossos by ferry, bus and taxi. Feeling very tired, we were met in the street by a man who did not know the right building nor how to get in. After 40 minutes and several phone calls he found the building, opened the door and we finally got in.
A point for travellers is that the parthenon is not the acropolis - the apartment is significantly further than 6 minutes from the parthenon entrance.
We had no contact with the hosts other than through the airbnb site.
Excellent location to visit Athens, just steps from the first archaeological sites.
The apartment is beautiful and functional, mini markets and a large supermarket 50 meters to 500 meters.
He only needs a refresh of paint but overall it does the job.
thank you so much Lina.
Good walk at all.
Appartement très bien situé, dans un quartier calme mais central. On y trouve tout le nécessaire de cuisine, une machine à laver, le wifi, un petit supermarché dans la rue...bref une très chouette expérience pour nos 3 jours à Athènes!
I had a great experience staying at Lina's apartment. Her and her boyfriend were very helpful, easy to contact, and easy to get answers from. My only complaint would be that the area doesn't have that many places to eat close to the apartment so we had to order delivery. It took about 15 minutes to walk to Plaka. However, the apartment was very spacious for my boyfriend and I, and we appreciated the ability to relax after a long time traveling. Thanks again, definitely recommend this place to other travelers!
