The guest room is large, with sliders opening out onto the garden and to a central solarium. The property has is on a quarter acre sunny lot with a pool and view of the Terra Linda hills.
We are located around the corner from the local grocery, Scottie's market, and Nothgate mall is a mile away. The Civic Center with entertainment and 2x/ week Farmers market close by. Bus line connecting to points north and south is a 5 minute walk away. We are located by miles and miles of open space trails, ideal for hiking and mountain bikes.

There is also a TV, small desk, mini refrigerator and a quality Yamaha upright (email hidden) /cassette/radio unit is also in the room with a a selection of music. Bath is shared. The house has skylights throughout and a high efficiency wood fireplace in the living room.
I will provide a simple morning repast of fruit, cereal, coffee, toast and tea upon request. Weekend guests can relax with the Sunday New York Times on the patio or in the solarium. We have a dog Neo, who loves people and he stays outside when we aren't home.

  • I had a wonderful stay. Julia was a very easy going and accommodating hostess. The house is immaculate and very comfortable. The room was comfy and roomy. I will definitely try to stay with Julia next time I'm in the Bay Area.

  • Julia made me feel at home right away! She made sure I had some healthy breakfast foods that I liked and even shared her moms home made jams. The room was spacious and comfortable at a private end of the home. The home was airy and light with plenty of large windows looking out into the garden. The neighborhood felt very safe. She even checked to make sure I was awake when she thought I may have missed my alarm. It was a pleasure staying and visiting with Julia. She was a wonderful host!

  • I had 6 beautiful days with Julia and her family (Alexa her daughter and Neo the dog) and they made me feel at home.
They are very open and warm people by heart which you sense the minute you meet them.
Julia was so friendly and helpful and made my recovering from jet lag that much easier.
I certainly can recommend anyone to stay with Julia, Alexa and Neo.

  • Julia was a wonderfully warm hostess, sincere, welcoming, graciously informal and prompt with communications. The guest room was spacious, peaceful and comfortable. The weather was a little too cool for the pool but it looked nice. Neo the dog was sweet and well-behaved.

  • I would recommend staying with Julia at her home in North Marin Julia is a very kind and person. She is open to sharing information if needed like directions or ideas of what to do. Her daughter and dog are both delightful and an a swim in the pool is very refreshing on a sunny day. I have a tendency to get lost and located myself to far away from the training that I needed to get to. Julia was very helpful in helping me with directions. I would Strongly stay with her. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly!!!

  • The rental space is attractive, spacious and good value! Also, it is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood about 5 minutes from Rt.101. Julia, as the owner is an ideal host, allowing you use much of her in/outdoor living space while keeping to herself, so you have much privacy. If you are in a "good guest" (or simply lucky), you may be treated to one of her lovely breakfasts with interesting conversations in her kitchen. Airbnb is still new to us and it feels like a nice B&B experience w/o all the formality. These home-stays can offer a richer experience than a hotel/motel stay. Airbnb somehow seems reminiscent of that unique "People's Express" experience of the early 80's when it became the first airline created for the convenience and economy of its passengers with few regulations, fees and penalties in the fine print. Hopefully, Airbnb will be able to retain this "start-up" charm as it grows!

  • Julia was very accommodating to us and made us feel very welcome in her home. It is very clean and bright due to skylights in every room. It is located within walking distance of a large grocery store with many options for the health conscious eater. The dog, Neo is super sweet!

  • I enjoyed my stay in Julia's house a lot! Julia lives in a very quiet and cosy house. It is sunny and welcoming. I felt myself really comfortable. The guest bedroom is located in the opposite side of the house from all other bedrooms. Lots of privacy. Next time I will be in the area, I will definitely stay in Julia's house again!

  • Julia was a great host, and it was great to meet her and her daughter and their dog Neo. The home was welcoming, clean and friendly. Julia was great about my initial late arrival, and made every effort to make things comfortable and easy, from travel maps to breakfast tea and snacks. I was in the midst of a long trip and therefore talked with Julia about using her kitchen and laundry, which she generously allowed. The house was in great order, the neighborhood was friendly and in easy walking distance to a few stores/resources, and the pool and yard were great amenities for a quiet, sunny afternoon. The bedroom itself is large, with all the amenities one might need during a trip (bed, desk, small fridge, tv, etc). Bathroom and entrance are shared, which worked fine for me. Looking forward to visiting again some day.
