Cozy and comfortable 3 BD, 2 Bath, house in the Seabright neighborhood on the east side of Santa Cruz. Just a short walk to the beach, downtown and shopping. Full complement of appliances. Great for a couple's weekend away or a family vacation.
The Coop is a three bedroom, two bath home located on our block in the Seabright of Santa Cruz. The home can host up to 5 folks -- two bedrooms (full & single) downstairs with a shared bath and the light house queen bedroom upstairs overlooking our Windham tree and rooftops as well as eucalyptus heron sanctuary with its own private bathroom.
The bedrooms are cozy and the beds are comfy -- high quality linens, pillows and towels (of course!) and memory foam toppers (bien sur!)
Filled with natural light, the open floor plan boasts a well appointed kitchen, perfect for the gourmet in you,
and dining room/living room area with a large farm house table, perfect for the Visual Artist in you -- crafter, painter, quilt maker, collagist. Original photography bedeck the walls while hardwood floors and spare furnishings may inspire the dancer in you to push it all out of the way and take over! (It did in me!)
Garden back room with cable TV (for the couch potato in you), laundry room with washer/dryer and deep laundry sink (rinsing paint brushes!), office for organizing those papers, outdoor shower for rinsing off surf and sand and two large decks (BBQ) with generous outdoor seating, relaxing double hammock under the arbor and a glorious variety of scented roses flourishing every where make this home a relaxing, comfortable space for a vacation or work retreat.
Walk, bike or drive to everything Santa Cruz -- beach, mountains. boardwalk , the Pacific Garden Mall, great restaurants, wine tasting and music venues -- are all within 5 minutes.
Complete access to the house, front and back yards.
Interaction with Guests
The house liaison will greet the guests otherwise they have complete privacy.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood consisting of primarily detached single family houses. The house is about 3/4 of a mile from Seabright beach, less than a mile from downtown Santa Cruz, about 1 mile from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. There is perhaps no place in Santa Cruz better for shopping: within walking distance are: Shoppers' Corner, Whole Foods, Staff of Life, and a Safeway.
There is a bus line with a stop 3 blocks from the house which runs to downtown where it is possible to transfer to buses that go to all parts of Santa Cruz. The house also comes with bicycles that can be borrowed for cruising around.
Other Things to Note
Santa Cruz has a short term housing tax of 11% of the total which must be paid in cash or by check at the time of check-in.
Only bookings of five days or longer will be accepted.
Absolutely no smoking on the property. No pets please. Smoking or pets in house or anywhere on property grounds will forfeit entire deposit.
House is rented to the number of guests in original reservation as confirmed. Please let us know if you are considering additional guests. Additional guests are 25.00 per guest p/night.
Lost keys: 25.00 p/key
Energy Conservation: When leaving for the day: Turn off the heat! Lock front door, unplug coffee maker (if necessary) and conserve energy by turning off heat & extra lights when leaving our house for the day. Of course, it's OK to leave a light on for loved ones returning in the dark!
Water Conservation: Santa Cruz is on strict water conservation because of the continuing California drought. Guests are requested to be careful with their use of water, in particular, to take short showers.
