Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. I absolutely love to cook (growing up my parents owned a restaurant), and a made to order hot breakfast is included! Menu items range from hot breakfast panini sandwiches, homemade biscuits, Lisa's secret-recipe-fried potatoes, and much more!
The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are stairs, so please take that into account if you have joint pain, etc... The full size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house
Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees, fire pit in the center, and some berries when in season.
Just down the street there is a community built outdoor pizza oven made of tile and cob. Also there is a covered cob bench. We built these for public use and community gathering. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, and many food carts including the much loved "Los Gorditos" food cart which was written up in Bon Apetit magazine.
The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown or east toward the Max line (Portland's light rail).
The reservation was canceled 130 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Great AirBnB Stay. Lisa is a wonderful host. The cottage is small, but cute, and very functional. It's perfect for one person. It made for a nice vacation, and is just about 2 blocks from the bus stop which took me right into downtown, and a car wasn't even necessary.
I want to start out by saying this is the first time my wife and I have stayed anywhere using air b&b. My wife and I stayed with Lisa for our Valentines day get away. Lisa was wonderful. I began messaging her about a month prior asking her for her help in surprising my wife. She allowed me to have a gift shipped to her house for my wife and she provided fresh flowers and candy in the cottage. It all worked out perfectly. Lisa also suggested a couple of local restaurants for us to visit. After a wonderful night in the cottage, my wife and I took Lisa up on her offer to have breakfast with her in the main house. She cooked us to order what we had asked for. We also had great conversation over the meal. It was great getting to know more about her and her family, as I am sure she enjoyed learning about us. I highly recommend staying with her. I can guarantee my wife and I will be back. It was such a wonderful first experience with air b&b, we look forward to using the site again, and have already talked about when we will be able to take another day or two to visit Lisa.
Lisa is super sweet, her cottage is very comfy-cozy, her breakfasts are delicious & filling, & she's sociable (without being invasive). We had a great time staying with her, she's everything you want from an excellent host!
Lisa's cottage was perfect (5 out of 5 airbnb stars for sure). The inside was half green and half wood paneling. The cottage was very cute and made us feel like we were staying in a large tree house (or a miniature ski lodge) which seems so appropriate for Portland's tree loving reputation.
We like to run and Mt. Tabor park was close enough to the cottage that we were able to run to it for morning trail running.
Also, Lisa is a great host and her breakfasts were fantastic! If you have some time to join her in her home for breakfast, you should do so. She and her husband are very warm and friendly.
We had a great experience at the South Tabor Cottage. The space was very quaint and relaxing. We had both of our dogs with us and still had enough room to cook dinner and hang out on the second floor. We ordered the breakfast burritos and they were delicious! Definitely filling and lots of flavor. We would highly recommend staying with Lisa at her little cottage.
This cottage was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay while visiting Portland for our anniversary. We have already recommended it to everyone we know will be traveling to Pdx. Lisa was so easy to work with and very sweet and her breakfast was insanely delicious! We couldn't pass it up the second day after trying it the first. The cottage is a perfect size for two and we found the bed to be extremely comfortable. I can't imagine staying anywhere else during future stays in Portland. Thanks Lisa!
Lisa was an amazing host! Very friendly and informative about the neighborhood. She is also very respectful of privacy. If you are looking for a comfy place to stay in portland please check out the south tabor cottage. Her breakfast burritos were a great way to start the day!
Staying at Lisa's place was great! She was very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!!!
We loved the cottage and Lisa was a wonderful host!
