Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. I absolutely love to cook (growing up my parents owned a restaurant), and a made to order hot breakfast is included! Menu items range from hot breakfast panini sandwiches, homemade biscuits, Lisa's secret-recipe-fried potatoes, and much more!
The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are stairs, so please take that into account if you have joint pain, etc... The full size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house
Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees, fire pit in the center, and some berries when in season.
Just down the street there is a community built outdoor pizza oven made of tile and cob. Also there is a covered cob bench. We built these for public use and community gathering. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, and many food carts including the much loved "Los Gorditos" food cart which was written up in Bon Apetit magazine.
The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown or east toward the Max line (Portland's light rail).
This (email hidden) to stay for us. It's compact and rustic but comfortable and cozy, and most people would think the burrito breakfasts are fabulous. Lisa is a warm, accomodating person, and the neighborhood is a pleasure to walk around in. We will return if the opportunity arises.
great time in the cottage! lisa (our host) made it very easy for us to arrive/check-in was a breeze. we had all the privacy we wanted. it was within walking distance to a nice big park (mt. tabor) & a cute little cafe. also close to a pretty convenient bus line. parking was easy. and lisa even made us breakfast! delivered to our door! wonderful!
We really enjoyed our stay here. It is cute and cozy and as others have mentioned, Lisa's breakfasts are amazing! We also took advantage of it close proximity to the 4 bus and easily got around all over town by beginning here.
If you're staying in Portland, definitely check out this very nice and cozy cottage. It's places in a good location, and it has fantastic amenities. But the highlight is Lisa's complimentary breakfast made to order. Make sure to get her rosemary (email hidden) delicious!
The cottage was great. I was only here for one night but it was a very cool space. While the cottage looks small, it has everything you could need and I felt we had plenty of room. Lisa was very nice. I left early in the morning so I was not able to take her up on the offer for breakfast but everything she was offering to cook sounded delicious.
I'm drawn to small, cozy spaces, and open, expansive personalities, so South Tabor Cottage was the perfect fit for me on my latest of countless visits to the fair city of Portland. Lisa provided a delicious breakfast and wonderful conversation along with all the peace and privacy one could want. The cottage makes optimal use of space, with a few angles that could require attention by the very tall! I was very comfy there and spent some relaxing hours reading and knitting in between excursions. The area is obviously up-and-coming, and nearby SE Division Street is developing into the sort of small commercial zone that gives Portland neighborhoods their unique personalities. Within a short walk I found a Vietnamese dinner from the local food truck pod, and the lovely Rain or Shine Coffeehouse. I hope to stay at South Tabor Cottage again.
We stayed for three nights at the South Tabor Cottage. It was a great home base for us to have while we explored the city. It was very clean and had everything we needed. This was our first AirBnB. Our host, Lisa, was very friendly and her breakfast was amazing! We are looking to move to Portland, and she gave us advice on where to house hunt and what we could expect as far as pricing/neighborhoods. We would definitely recommend the South Tabor Cottage. Just outside the city in a great neighborhood.
We had such a great time at Lisas Cottage. The Cottage is so cozy and nice. Lisa and her family are really awesome, and the breakfast is one of a kind. We loved the personal contact. Don't miss this B&B when staying in Portland, you will love it.
Our stay at Lisa's adorable little cottage was perfect. The cottage although quite small has everything you would need, and is close to the lovely Mt.Tabor and local bus links into Portland. Lisa kindly makes an amazing breakfast each morning for you, which we thoroughly enjoyed and Lisa truly is a great chef! :)
We had a cosy 3 night stay, but could have happily stayed longer! We would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants to visit Portland, but stay in a out of town relaxing neighbourhood! Thanks Lisa :)
We had a very nice stay with Lisa. We concur that she makes a delicious breakfast. We were there for one night and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. We would gladly stay there again.
