Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!

The space

Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private..
The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house.

Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season.

Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more.
The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.

Guest access

You are most welcome to hang out in the back yard if you like, pick berries in season and so on!

Other things to note

Check in is at 3pm or anytime thereafter. The cottage will be clean, unlocked and ready for you with the keys inside, so all you have to do is show and go straight on back through the driveway to the back yard where the cottage sits awaiting your arrival!

It's a wonderful place, not spacious but warm, cozy and comfortable. I loved it and look forward to visiting again. It's very well located to the city generally and the major transport routes and the airport, without being on top of them. And it has great walks nearby in Mt Tabor Park. Lisa's breakfast was so good; her Heavenly Hash is well named. Note it's not for folks who can't handle attic-like stairs.

Lisa is a great host and South Tabor is a great neighborhood. We wanted to stay in town one more night after a family wedding. The tiny house was relaxing and comfortable. The fabulous breakfast Lisa brought to our door the next morning sustained us for our long day of travel back to Michigan.

Great little space and with a super location. Portland is such a happening city, and it's nice to be set apart when at "home base" in a quiet neighborhood. Having lived there before, it was a treat to be near the old hangouts. The space is clean and supplied with just about all you would need, except your own food. At Division and 21st is a beautiful New Seasons health food store, so if heading downtown, stopping is easy coming or going. Then the bridges connect with Grand, which intersects with Division, and you're downtown. Easy schmeezy!

The cottage is small, but it was perfect for what my husband and I needed. Lisa is a gracious hostess, and the breakfast each morning was outstanding: highly recommend.

I am a retired clinical social worker ~ I worked for 20 years in local hospitals and live with my husband (who is a soon to be retired RN). We also have a "Schnoodle" rescue doggie Davy-Jones, who monitors the neighborhood from his perch a top the couch. Our two "twenty-something" sons reportedly live with us, but we rarely see them, lol! We've lived two decades here in the South Tabor neighborhood of Portland. Tom and I met twenty some ago while attending the University of Puerto Rico, and we love traveling, as well as opening up our backyard cottage & meeting new people! There are some great walking trails - a couple of my favorites are walking on nearby Mt. Tabor park with views of the whole city. I also enjoy the trail next to the Columbia River. There are also plenty of fantastic places to eat in Portland & the food carts are really innovative!

My hero is Eleanor Roosevelt, I can't seem to get enough of the color RED. In everything. I live for my art journaling group: aka: a bunch of sassy women who meet once a week to do fabulous art & then go out to happy hour afterwards~lol!
My husband is my best friend on earth, followed closely by my dad & fabulously unique sister who (unlike me) mows her lawn in high heels and mini skirts! My folks and siblings all live close by, many generations Oregonians are we all & are happy to welcome you to this great state!!!
Years ago my parents used to own a popular local restaurant with lunch and dinner lines going out the door. I suppose it's how I'm hardwired.... Some people do yoga to relax, I cook write & paint to relax, LOVE it!!! I'm excited to welcome you to THIS particular part of your awesome adventures in traveling, I love meeting guests who are embarking on all kinds of adventurers :-D
