Zachary was an excellent host; he was easy to work with whenever we had questions. His home was clean and spacious; the property was pleasant. Be sure to have a car -- apart from walking around the property and the immediate area, a car is instrumental for getting around.
Zachary really made us feel welcome in his home. He explained where everything was and helped us get settled. The house is nice and well-appointed. The kitchen has everything you need, bathrooms are clean and the living rooms and bedrooms are comfortable. Though, 2 of the bedrooms don't have real beds in them. One has a futon and the other has an air mattress.
One additional thing to keep in mind is that there are chickens right outside your bedroom window. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep past 5am.
Also, the location is a bit remote. If you're planning to be in downtown Austin it will take about 15 minutes to get there by car.
Property is close to downtown, peaceful and has ample room. Zachary and Virginia were terrific hosts, they gave us a list of cool places to check out and were very generous in letting us use the home and even opening up their fridge. There are really cool gardens and even chickens outside! The house was plenty big enough to fit our group of 9, and I recommend it if you want rural charm that's close to downtown.
About the Host, Zachary
My wife and I are in our late thirties. She is a teacher and I own a landscaping company. We are both musicians, gardeners and lovers of good books and good food.
