  • We really enjoyed our stay with Norma and John, it was a happy experience all around: From the start, both of them made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed, including any additional information we may want. The rooms are sunny and warm and clean and very, very nice, as is the bathroom, the breakfast room and the whole house. Breakfast was excellent, and the whole family enjoyed the variety and different choices. The house is in a quiet street just off Muswell Hill Broadway and so everything is within easy access and walking distance. We will be back!

  • Schöne Zimmer. Phanstastisches Frühstück. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber.

  • We had a wonderful time with John and Norma. They took such good care of us--even picked us up from the train station. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our visit with them and will definitely be looking them up again on our next visit to London.

  • My stay at John and Norma's Homestay B&B was perfect! I really cannot say enough good things about this experience. The house, bedroom, and bathroom were immaculate. The breakfast was unbelievable, and the location was great. However, I found the hosts to be the most amazing part of my stay. John and Norma feel like family in minutes--I was shocked at how comfortable I felt to return to their home after long days of travel. They are easy-going, interesting, and open people. Anyone who is able to stay with them will not be disappointed. The price is a steal for the experience and luxury of staying at their place. I will definitely be back to John and Norma's as soon as possible!

  • We had arrived to a very warm welcome and big smiles. It really made us feel at home. The room was absolutely wonderful and impeccably clean with everything we coupld possibly need. The house is so peaceful and tranquil we both slept well especially because my partner nomarlly has trouble sleeping in other beds, he slept like a baby every night. Breakfast was served in a nice relaxed way with so much to choose from and so healthy, I felt like I was being treated every morning...and it was again... amazing. John and Norma really have a nack of making people feel comfortable and welcome, which cannot be said for some of the hosts I´ve encountered. It´s my first time using AirBnB and it won´t be my last. John and Norma are fabulous hosts, also our bathroom was extremely nice and very clean and the view from our bedroom was pretty good. All in all we had a very lovely stay and enjoyed coming home to the BnB after long days of walking round London. Next time we come we´ll definitely stay with John and Norma. :)

  • The Airbnb Team stayed with John & Norma on our last visit to London, and they were absolutely terrific. We arrived to a fresh pot of tea and big warm smiles. There's a lovely and breathtaking view from the park a short walk from their home, as well as plenty of adorable shops to splurge in and restaurants to try. It is easily accessible to the underground and getting around was no problem at all. When we left, we felt like we were leaving family. We can't wait to go back to London just to see them again!

  • If and when I move to London, I'm looking at Muswell Hill first -- a fun neighborhood in north London. Prospective guests might balk at the location, but it's not that far (about 30 minutes anywhere in the center by bus/Tube combo). And it's lovely. Named for an ancient well that supposedly saved a Scottish king, it's a village-like area in the hills, with sweeping looks over London, that got some fame 40 years ago from the Kinks' unheralded classic album 'Muswell Hill.' That's why I stayed there -- the Kinks -- but I'll go back just to stay at John and Norma's place, regardless of location.

Both were wonderful hosts, offering loads of information on getting to/fro and things to occupy your attention around north London. Plus the room with private bathroom were lovely -- not surprising, considering John's a retired interior decorator.

Big breakfasts and plenty of conversation with both made it feel like my London home, and brought the area to life too.

    I will definitely go back.

Hornsey College of Art
John and Norma met many years ago at The Hornsey College of Art in London. John pursued a career in Interior Design and Norma worked in illustration, portraiture and animation and was involved in the making of the film 'The Snowman'. More recently Norma has worked with adults with learning disabilities, in both teaching and supporting roles. We're semi-retired now with grown up children and lots of space to share in our home in lovely Muswell Hill!
