Very clean two bedroom beach house one block from Kailua's 31/2 miles of white sand with small fenced yard and covered lanai. The bungalow accommodates six. It has a large bedroom with a full size bed and twin bunk beds. The small bedroom has a queen size bed. The bungalow house has one bathroom with a tub/shower and is stocked with bath and beach towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with frig, cooktop and stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pots, etc. The comfortable living room offers seating and eating areas, Direct TV with movie channels and the NFL football package - watch your favorite team on vacation! - and wireless internet access. The covered lania gives you the opportunity to enjoy Hawaii's outdoor living. There is comfortable patio seating, a garden area with a smoothing water fountain and tropical plants. The lania also has surf board racks. Feel free to bring your board or wind surfing gear and store it on the porch!
Just outside the small fenced yard is an outdoor beach shower. The shower is located behind the house; perfect to wash off the Kailua sand. There is also a washer/dryer available for guest use in this common area. The washer/dryer is coin operated. ($1/each)
The property is located in a family freindly neighborhood next door to our main house. It's about a 2-5 minute walk to the closest beach access - just one block away from Kailua beach, one of the world's most beautiful beaches; come see for yourself! We are also within walking distance of Kailua town's shops, and restaurants. Parking is available off street in front of the unit.
We'd love to share a piece of our paraidse.

My family and I had water damage in our home and needed to leave for 4 days while the crew did the repairs. We found Beth's cottage on the Air BnB site and it was a perfect (email hidden)ose to our home and near the beach. Beth is such a sweet lady and was happy to help our family feel comfortable while we were away from home and dealing with the water damage emergency. The cottage was exactly what we needed. It was large (2 bedrooms) and roomy and made me feel that there was enough room for everyone to get a good sleep. Even though we were away from our own beds, we all slept very well on the cottage beds including the children! We walked down to the beach each morning (2 min walk) and felt like we were having a mini beach vacation (much needed!). It was quiet and private. The outdoor shower was perfect...great for washing off beach sand. The kitchen was well stocked and I had everything I needed to cook for our family. The washer and dryer on-site is a plus. The muffins she cooked for us were amazing. The fountain and sitting area in the patio were an added bonus. I would highly recommend her cottage! We plan on renting here again for a family reunion and encouraging our mainland family to stay here while on Oahu.
Thank you Beth for giving our family some respite from our water damaged house and allowing this mama to feel relaxed even though we were away from home.
Excellent area. Beach is great. Neighborhood is safe. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach. Not horrible, but still something you had to organize for. House was clean, only issue was dishwasher didn't work. All that mattered was the beach was great. Lots of beach toys to use.
I have to say that although the cottage was adequate, I felt like was a teenager at a summer camp cottage. For the amount we paid, we were disappointed and we will not stay at this accommodation again.
First of all, our greeting from Beth was not a warm welcome. For whatever reason, our SUV rental vehicle made her nervous, and the immediate explanation to our toddler children to not jump on her couch, soured our first impression. So it was evident that we got off on the wrong foot. Once we got inside, we realized how small and dark the space was, and how we felt so contained by all the doors and fences of this little compound. Each of the 2 main beds were smaller than expected, uncomfortable, and difficult for 2 adults to sleep on each bed. So one of us slept on the couch (with a sheet we bought in town), and another of our party slept on the floor and my 2 year old slept in a closet in the portable bed we packed with us. Three of the six of us have allergies to dogs, and it was evident that dogs had been all through the cottage. Maybe a note that it is a “dog-friendly” cottage would have been helpful on the Air BnB listing.
What was not stated on Beth’s Air BnB listing was that the cottage was one of several rental units that shared laundry and outside shower. Not a big deal, but just something we hadn’t expected. Furthermore, we didn’t expect to unblock the plugged garberator when we arrived, and our attempt to fix the bathroom sink so the basin would hold water was also unexpected. We also didn’t expect fairly constant construction noise right outside the cottage windows for the majority of our stay. The bath in the bathroom had been removed since the images were taken, and replaced with a shower; the bathroom was pretty dingy compared to the images; the BBQ was essentially useless with a massive corroded hole in the bottom; the kitchen was poorly equipped with dishes and cutlery: we purchased a kettle to boil water, small children’s bowls and we used a kitchen knife that we packed with us. And finally, we were told that the dishwasher (pictured on the listing), did not work.
The final comment worth noting is that we had been assured that the neighborhood was safe, and that gear could be safely stored in the common area of the property. Several days after arrival, 6 or seven police cars and officers pulled up directly outside the entrance to our suite and busted a drug dealer, Hawaii 5-0 style.
Very disappointed, and feeling the Air BnB listing descriptions and images were inaccurate. We mean no disrespect to the owners, but future guests need to know what they are signing up for, and this was our experience.
The moment I met Thomas and his family, I knew they were unhappy people and sensed he would leave an awful review. Sadly, you can't please everyone. The previous guests reported that the beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and they were generally pleased.
While this unit is pet free, I am a pet owner. Perhaps, his party was allergic to me.
Beth greeted us when we arrived, she lives in a house next to the guest house. There is another guest house behind this one where a group of college students were staying, and they were a little noisy in the early evening, but were quiet at night. Beth was friendly and helpful, and the house was perfect. The house was well stocked with dishes, pots/pans, a few household staples like oil, salt, and soap in the bathroom, etc. The outdoor shower was great with hot and cold water, a nice perk! The beds were comfortable and I loved the cushy couch in the living room. The outdoor area was great, a relaxing place to read or have coffee with seating for three. Only saw one bug the whole time, very clean! Towels, linens, etc were nice and clean. The dishwasher was broken so we had to hand-wash our dishes, but it wasn't a problem. Kitchen was roomy, nice dining room, the table has seating for 4, and we had our 2 year old son sit on a stool next to me to fit in 5. Beach toy for my son to play with were included, as were beach towels, mats, sun umbrella. I would definitely recommend the house.
The walk to the beach was short and the beach itself was beautiful with soft sand, big waves (we were there in late March), and there were not very many people on the beach. Lots of kite surfers though, which were fun to watch.
We 2 family spent 7 nights at Beth’s house during the Chinese Spring Festival. The house is clean and well equipped. Beth’s chocolate muffin is so delicious.
The location of the house is excellent, 3 minutes walk to Kailua Beach, 5 minutes drive to Lanikai Beach, 5 minutes drive to Kailua downtown, which you can find Foodland, Wholefoods, Safeway and Target. Also easy for driving to Waikiki, pearl habor and airport.
It’s my first experience with AIRBNB, successful.
My husband and I with our two adult children stayed 6 nights at Beth's 2 bedroom cottage in February 2015. The cottage was clean and the common areas were comfortable and suited the four of us just fine. We particularly enjoyed the lanai. She greeted us with delicious muffins on our first and last days. The cottage was only a quick walk (1.5 blocks) to one of the most beautiful beaches -- Kailua Beach, and Lanikai Beach was only a very short drive away. We will miss the sunrise over the Pacific! She had beach towels, mats, chairs and boogie boards for guests to use. Beth was accommodating and answered questions very promptly, by phone and email.
Beth was there to greet us with smiles when we arrived. She and her sweet dogs were so welcoming and everything completely exceeded our expectations. The cottage is large and spacious and the kitchen is very well-equipped. We had the luxury of an extended stay of 23 days and enjoyed it to the fullest. The Kailua beach is steps away and pristine. My small children swam without ever being knocked about by huge waves and had the greatest beach time of their lives. My in-laws also joined us for part of the stay and there was plenty of room for the five of us. Beth provides all you need to feel at home and welcome - even freshly baked goodies warm from the oven delivered regularly during our visit. If you are considering Kailua, this is the place for you. Book it while you can! I've already passed along this jewel of Beth and John's to friends here in Seoul. Enjoy your stay, we certainly did!

I am one of the luckiest women around. I live in a beautiful spacious home in Kailua, Hawaii, one block from the beach, with my awesome husband John and our two very friendly and spoiled dogs. We are recent empty nesters with two exceptional kids!John and I love to "talk story" (the Hawaiian slang term for chatting) with interesting people, spending time together at the beach and watching basketball and football - we're University of Arizona and Arizona Cardinals fans! I spend my free time in my garden, reading great books, hiking or walking the beach with my dogs, and baking/cooking yummy things.
Kailua is a lovely town. I'd love to share our piece of paradise with you!
