The space

Centrally located in cute university town

This cosy house is ideal for families, it easily sleeps 6.
It lies in a child friendly neighbourhood with a little playground right behind the house.
In the house itself is a perfect playroom for kids with lots of toys and even a climbing rack!

You will enter the house, that lies on a calm street, in a small hallway were there is also a toilet. The living room is very spacious and directly connected to the kitchen area.
There are large sliding doors that open up to our small but very charming garden.
Upstairs is a spacious bathroom, with separate shower and a bathtub and a second toilet. Here you'll find bedroom 1 with bunk bed, and the large playroom, were there is plenty of space for an extra mattress.
Up the second stairs you will find bedroom 2 with beds for small kids and the master bedroom. (in our livingroom you'll find that it is possible to change the couche into a 2 person bed)

The house lies in the small and friendly University town called Wageningen.
Wageningen is very centrally located in the Netherlands.
In a 45-minute drive you'll be in our wonderful capital Amsterdam.
Utrecht is a 25-minute drive. (very easily accesable by train)
Wageningen is surrounded by a few beautiful and famous national parks, and the river Rhine runs along the town.
Great for a swim on a hot day!

Because of the university, the town is very lively. There are lots of students and lots of people from all over the world who work at the university or study there.
Visit for example the nice espresso bar Villa Bloem, where lots of students hang out.
Or take your dinner up to the botanical park Belmonte for a good pick nick.

Our house and us.

We are Dienke and Oscar.
And we have four kids aged 9, 7, 5 and 3.
The oldest is our daughter Ate and then come Julus, Mees and Sake our three boys.
Ate and Julus share their room as well as the two little boys do. That way we save one extra room, where they can play, be wild or do whatever they like.

Dienke is a professional artist. Check on (website hidden) if you want to see her works and Oscar is a sound engineer who has his own CD label ((website hidden)) but since the music business is not so strong anymore he works now as a business consultant.

We love to travel the globe and visited many cities with our kids.
We have used Airbnb places ourselves to stay at and we think that it is time now to put our house on it as well.
That way we hope to save up a little bit for our travel plans in which we hope to stay on the road for a whole year!

We felt like Oscar's place was home away from home for us. It is in a child-friendly neighborhood, close to amenities. The home itself is spacious, well-equipped, fun and full of whimsical art. Oscar was a welcoming, helpful host. We highly recommend!

We had a delightful time at the house of Oscar Meijer. Oscar is warm and courteous and was very helpful in arranging our stay. The house was perfect for our needs, as it is centrally located in Wageningen and a nice family home. We give an enthusiastic recommendation!!

Oscar was an incredibly gracious host. The accommodations were excellent. We were very lucky to find such a nice place to stay for two weeks. Oscar went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, and he provided several suggestions when we inquired about local markets and/or directions for getting around town. If you find yourself in Wageningen, and you need some extra room, this is an excellent choice.

Loved this location! Oscar was a wonderful host that answered all our questions within a short time frame. My husband said he wanted to stay longer, he enjoyed the area and the people there. The backyard is gorgeous but we didn't get to use it because it rained while we were there. The grocery store is very close by with an ATM outside the building. The location made it easy to see Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Thank you for making the start of our trip great! This was so easy that it made us want to rent again!

Oscar was extraordinarily accommodating in meeting my needs. He picked me up, made sure I had everything I needed, and was always available in case something came up. He even spent several hours helping me try to fix my computer that crashed while in Wageningen, which was way beyond what he needed to do. The facilities were great and I would certainly want to stay with Oscar again.

Oscar's place is nice for family, we had a nice time there. The rooms are all lovely, dolls are so cute. Highly recommended to families.

We chose to stay in Oscar's home for 2 weeks with our family of 5 (3 children) as it looked like a great place for our kids to have some fun while we relaxed. In no way were we disappointed! The house was very clean and tidy upon our arrival, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed to make a wide variety of meals with lots of room in the fridge. We all slept well in the spacious rooms with comfy beds. Our children had a wonderful time exploring all the wonderful toys in the playroom, the dress-up cloths, the many games and Dienke had even left out some English books that our children could read. The playground just behind the garden was a wonderful place to connect with the neighborhood children, and the whole community seemed very welcoming of us and our children. We enjoyed borrowing some bikes and cycling around this wonderful university town. As well as walking around the near-by wooded area and swimming at the pool across the street. The easy access to a well appointed grocery as well as several specialty shops definitely added to our hassle-free stay. Dienke and Oscar gave us great information, suggestions and directions to explore the surrounding area. We especially enjoyed the little nature reserve which was only a 20 min. bus ride away as well as the arboretum we explored after cycling to the river. This was our final destination after 8 months of visiting 30 locations through 17 European countries .... and it stands out as a top 5 favourite for each of our family members. These hosts, this home, this location and our experience were exceptional.
