Karin was an excellent host! She met us at the apartment and showed us everything we needed to know. The apartment was incredibly cute and cozy. While we didn't spend much time indoors since anything we could want was right outside her door, the space worked great for our family of 4 (we have a 2 kids ages 2 and 5 and she even made sure to set aside DVDs that they would enjoy...VERY nice). With friends close by, we will definitely be calling on Karin again!
Karin was a wonderful host. She was friendly, helpful and provided so much information about the area. We would definitely stay at her place again. Perfect location, great neighborhood and so close to the train.
Karin nous a gentiment accueillis et nous a donné toutes les informations nécessaires pour un bon séjour à Brooklyn.
Karin is sweet and welcoming, and her apartment is lovely and very well-located.
Karin's apartment is just perfect! It's spacious, clean, comfy and beautifully decorated. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights, and had absolutely no problems at all. The weather was freezing cold when we arrived, but Karin's apartment was warm and cosy. It was really nice and quiet, and Karin had thoughtfully bought us muesli, yoghurt, fruit and cookies for our stay, as well as providing clean towels and shampoo, etc in the bathroom, which was a nice touch, especially if you are trying to pack light for a city break!
Karin was really quick to reply to any queries throughout the booking process, and kindly waited around late for us to arrive from the airport, when we were warmly greeted by the adorable George! She was also really flexible with our check out time, which was much appreciated as we weren't in the country long and wanted to make the most of our stay.
Location wise, the apartment was perfect for us. It's in easy walking distance to the subway into Manhattan, or up to Williamsburg. We enjoyed exploring the immediate area, and found some great places for brunch and pizza, and during the winter the Brooklyn Flea is just a couple of blocks away. We felt totally safe coming and going from the apartment night and day.
I highly recommend Karin's apartment, and Karin and George (the dog) as hosts, and would definitely stay here again when visiting New York.
I had a lovely stay in Karin's cozy, beautifully appointed, comfortable apartment. Every interaction I had with her--from emails and texts before I arrived to greeting me at her place when I checked in, to coordinating check out--was pleasant. She responded promptly, and was very accommodating and flexible about details. Karin is warm and welcoming and her extra little touches--from breakfast things and chocolate waiting for me on arrival to the sumptuous bed and bath linens--added to the comfort of my stay.
If anything, the apartment is nicer than in the pictures. Spacious, warm, clean, full of interesting decorative touches, and with a nice little balcony (though it was too cold to use it when I was there).
I loved the neighborhood, which has just the right mix of hip, new cafés and restaurants, conveniences, and urban grit and character. It's easily subway-accessible and a straight shot to lower Manhattan. The building is an historic rehab. The lobby and halls aren't much, but don't let them fool you--the apartment is really terrific, with high ceilings and big rooms. And the building is quiet and clean.
And for anyone who likes dogs, having the opportunity to meet Karin's dog, George, is a definite plus.
I would definitely recommend Karin's place to friends and would stay here again.
Our hostess was extremely friendly and welcoming, as was George (who we greatly enjoyed petting). The apartment was beautiful with great heat and lots of hot water. The bed and couch were comfortable and the apartment was extremely quiet. Lots of parking nearby, close to the M and a good coffee shop. We had a wonderful stay.
