Interaction with Guests

About me:
Early 30's female working in the hospitality/tourism industry. I am a native New Yorker and can provide with all the information you need about NYC and its surrounding areas. I speak French, Spanish and Arabic so communication is never an issue. I am very social and enjoy cooking, traveling and meeting new people. I am always available to help you in anyway I can. I travel all the time so I am in and out of NYC but Eric is always home to help guests with anything they need. We both have busy schedules but we are always available for guests.

The Neighborhood

The greatest feature of the apartment aside from its pristine condition is its location. It lies in prime Lower East Side/Chinatown territory, known for its diverse community, vibrant nightlife and artistic sensibility. You can shop vintage designer looks at Tokio 7 and Cadillac's Castle. You are steps away from excellent restaurants and bars including Fat Radish, Beauty & Essex, Les Enfants Terribles, 'inoteca, Clinton Street Bakery and loads of excellent Chinese food.

  • Eric and Laila were very accommodating and helpful. They provided maps and information on the local area. They were happy for us to come and go as we pleased and they made us feel right at home.
The room was just as it appeared on the website - bright, spacious and comfortable!
I would highly recommend this Lower East Side gem for any visitor to NYC!

  • We spend 5 nights at Lailas and Erics place and had an amazing time. Eric introduced the neighbourhood to us right after our arrival, what we really appreciated. Otherwise we would have gone straight to see all the sights, hipster Williamsburg and all that stuff and would have missed all the nice place beeing so close to our apartment. As it is so close to Chinatown and Little Italy you find thousands of fantastic places to eat (especially Asian) and to go shopping.
The apartment was pretty and clean, even breakfast is included.
    Thanks for hosting us!

  • We really liked the room, it was nice, clean and looked like on the photos! We felt comfortable there :-)
Erik offered us a tour through the neighborhood but unfortunately we didn't had enough time.
The direct neighborhood was quite messy and stinky but we didn't spent much time there so it was ok.
It was a positive first experience with airbnb for us.

  • Our host was Eric as we only met Laila on our last night. Eric was a great host right from our arrival at the airport as he organised a car to pick us up. His tour of the neighborhood was very helpful and and he was friendly and helpful throughout. The photos were a correct depiction of the accommodation - very clean and tidy. The location is easy to get around from. This was our first experience with airbnb and it was a positive one. Thank you.

  • Laila was in San Francisco, so we did not meet her. Her business partner, Erick, was a gracious host. Laila had suggested a best way to get from JFK to her apartment on the Lower East Side, and it was very good, and less than a cab.
The neighborhood is very close to China Town, and Little Italy.
The accommodations were very clean, and comfortable. The picture accurately depicted the room. The kitchen and common area were also clean, attractive, and comfortable.

  • We didn't get to met Laila but Eric was a fantastic host! We particularly appreciated the local tour he gave us and immediately felt at home even though it was only one night! Close to the train and Manhattan bridge! Great coffee close by too! Definitely recommend staying here

  • Apartment and room were just fine, exactly as they appear in the photos. Laila was away but Eric was a great host and we enjoyed his company. The front entrance and nearby in street can be a bit smelly with garbage, which is collected regularly, but you get over it quickly and start to enjoy the buzz of New York's Lower East Side - a great place to visit and stay. I'd certainly recommend the room but it wouldn't suit everyone.

Hi Julie, I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry about the garbage downstairs I know the super had been ill for a few days and did not collect the garbage on time.
