About this listing
In the heart of culturally diverse "Mid City" section of LA, enjoy unobstructed views of this 2nd fl apt, located at the quiet end of a dead end street, abutting the historic (dry) Ballona creek. Loads of light, gentle breezes and beautiful sunsets.
The apartment is actually a two bedroom, but I'm keeping the second bedroom, which is an office, off limits for now. If you'd like to use the office, that can be discussed. As soon as I put a bed in it, it will be opened up for more sleeping options. Otherwise, everything in my home is open to you!
There is a eat-in kitchen with a stove and microwave (there's a brand new gas grill on the terrace); also a fully furnished living room and bedroom, a bathroom with tub and shower, and a terrace facing the Hollywood Hills (you can see the "Hollywood" sign if you look just east of the bldg, from the end of the terrace!).
The neighborhood is culturally diverse and rapidly gentrifying (for better or worse, depending on your politics). There's private parking in the shared driveway.
Located just three blocks from the 10 Freeway (Fairfax exit), the Venice and Santa Monica beaches are a twenty minute drive west on the freeway.
Culver City and Sony Studios are five minutes by car, but you can walk there in twenty.
Hollywood and the Farmer's Market/Grove is ten minutes in the other direction.
West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Larchmont, Silver Lake, Los Feliz and Echo Park are each no more than ten to twenty minutes away, and the valley and the studios there can also be reached via the freeways in about a half hour.
The new Metro Station is a fifteen minute walk (or five minute Uber or Lyft ride), but, if you hop on the freeway you can be in newly reinvigorated downtown Los Angeles in less than 10 minutes by car (without traffic).
The highlight of the neighborhood is the rapidly growing Picfair Village shopping and dining district. You can walk there from the apartment in five minutes if you take your time. Called the "new" Silverlake and Los Feliz, the small, privately owned bistros, art galleries and vintage shops are quickly being discovered by people beyond the locals.
Interaction with Guests
I'll just be nearby and always accessible, unless otherwise notified (and in which case I'll provide another contact person). I'm also available (of course!) to provide tips and ideas about enjoying the city I've called home for the last twenty years!
And, also, there is a possibility if the guest stays longer than two days, I may need to go to the apartment to retrieve materials from my office while they're there. If so, of course, I will provide ample notice and make sure I'm in and out as promptly as possible.
There are lots of public transportation options available. Bus and subway maps are provided and all in walking distance.
Other Things to Note
Please respect the neighbors, who are quiet, friendly, hard working families.
Also please note: this is a new listing. The reviews that you see dated before 2015 are for my prior home, from which I relocated to this great, new place several months ago. But please read them! You'll get a good idea of my lengthy and positively reviewed hosting capabilities!
No smoking indoors please, and if you smoke on the terrace or in the yard, please clean up any residue.
In certain cases, pets will be allowed for an additional $10.00 charge per night.
