This historic stone guest cottage is located in the heart of Five Points, walking distance to many Athens jewels: The Five and Ten restaurant, Jittery Joe's coffee house and Earthfare Grocery, also blocks from UGA campus and the football stadium.
The cottage was build around 1920 and is very cozy and comfortable. It features hard wood floors, central heat and AC, a large television with Direct TV with premium channels, wireless internet and a galley kitchen. One bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, adjoined by a little sleeping room with a twin bed.
The front of the property is on Milledge Avenue with a large historic stone house containing an interior design firm and a furnishings shop. ( by appointment only.) The guest cottage is in the back very of the property and is surrounded by the backyards of neighboring residences. A lovely historic alley runs behind the cottage and guests can walk to shops and dining in Five Points and avoid Milledge Avenue all together.
$50 cleaning fee - two night minimum.
My second visit to Lisa's cottage was another perfect stay!
Despite a rainy weekend in Athens,Georgia, my daughters and I had a delightful visit thanks to the perfect accommodations provided by Lisa. The cozy den was just the atmosphere we needed to catch up and the location so close to 5-points was perfect. I hope to make a reservation to return again to this charming cottage. Many thanks, Lisa. Bests to you and your family, Andrea
Lisa's cottage is awesome! The rustic decor is comfortable and welcoming. It's obvious that she's thought of the details here. The location is ideal, just off a major arterial university road. Couldn't have asked for more.
We enjoyed our stay at Lisa's cottage!
In two words-Absolutely Charming! I will definitely be staying in this adorable cottage again. The location is perfect and the accommodations just so comfortable.
We have stayed in this adorable cottage twice! It's in a great location and comfortably appointed. We would give it a great recommendation.
This was a great location for a football weekend. We ended up with one more guy than expected for the weekend and Lisa kindly brought us some extra linens and pillows shortly after we arrived. She also had the kitchen nicely stocked for a continental breakfast. It's a beautiful neighborhood and very convenient to the football stadium and the rest of what downtown has to offer. The crowd I travel with for the South Carolina/Georgia game would be too big for the house but if my wife and I were travelling to Athens or if I come back with a smaller group for a football weekend, I'll definitely try to stay here again.
This is a lovely, quiet and private cottage! Everything we needed, or could possibly want, was provided. Plenty of towels, expanded cable on a large, flat tv, coffee and supplies, iron and board, plus extra touches ..fruit! The location is perfect for campus. Lisa is a friendly and gracious host. I miss being there...mostly because we enjoyed seeing our son, who is a student, but also because Lisa's cottage enhanced our weekend!
Lisa has a great location close to much of Athens, including the campus. This place is perfect for parents visiting their student at UGA. The cottage was very clean, and the A/C kept it nice and cool (important to those of us not used to the humidity). It's located behind her house / interior design office. She has obviously put some work into the cottage (the bathroom looked brand new), which is just as charming as the town of Athens. Ron helped us get settled in and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed having breakfast outside under the tree in the quiet back yard.
Walk down the back alley to Independent Baking Company. They just opened three weeks ago, and their chocolate croissants are amazing compared to any French bakery in the US! Five and Ten is also within walking distance for the foodies out there. Great experience overall. Thanks, Lisa!
We were in Athens to visit our sons and go to a UGA football game. The guest cottage was an absolute delight! The setting is already beautiful and comfortable and Lisa has plans to make it even better. It is a long walk to campus but my husband and I enjoy walking so it was perfect for us...and traffic is a nightmare on game days so we would rather be on foot! There are good places to eat within a short walk from the cottage. The furnishings and supplies were great and everything was very clean. We will definitely stay there again. Lisa is a terrific host!
