The space
The Casa Rústica Mundo de las Abejas (World of the Bees Rustic House) is part of El Colmenar, a rural complex located in Chóvar, in the heart of the Sierra de Espadán mountain range. It comprises interconnected accommodations that can be booked together or in combination, depending on availability. Built in 1860 on large red sandstone arches, it preserves the history and essence of a family deeply connected to the land and, especially, to the world of beekeeping, the origin of the project's name and identity.

Its personality is inspired by the beekeeping world that gives El Colmenar its name and is expressed through three distinct areas: the bees, the beekeepers, and the bee-eaters. The Bee Room evokes the heart of the apiary and connects with the idea of order, shared work, and a natural life. The Beekeepers' Room represents the relationship between humankind and beekeeping, uniting tradition, craft, and the connection with the hive. The Bee-eater Room adds a more colorful, wild, and natural dimension, enriching the overall experience with a more vibrant view of the surroundings.

The entire space offers a unique themed experience, linked to the world of bees and the very essence of El Colmenar. This is not your average rural accommodation, but a place with its own identity, where family history, traditional architecture, and apicultural themes transform your stay into a distinctive and characterful experience.
Located in a privileged natural setting, in the heart of the Sierra de Espadán mountains, the house is ideal for getaways, family or couples' gatherings, workshops, celebrations, and charming rural getaways. Its spaciousness and capacity to accommodate numerous guests allow for a comfortable, versatile stay connected to nature. Overall, Casa Rústica Mundo de las Abejas (World of Bees Rustic House) combines history, authenticity, and an original themed concept, offering rural accommodation with soul. 20 minutes from the beach, 40 km from Valencia.

Guest access
Guests can use all areas both inside and outside the house (including the private plaza in front).

There is an Olympic-size swimming pool, as seen in the listing description, available in the town with a bar/cocktail service. Don't miss the chance to take a dip!

We also have a plaza in front of the house, right next to the church, where you can have dinner, enjoy the cool evening air, or have a snack. Ask us about it!

In addition, the town has a sports center, a gym, and the picnic/recreation area known as Las Carboneras, nestled in the Sierra Espadán Natural Park forest.

Other things to note
Chóvar is a popular spot for adventure and mountain sports enthusiasts. It's also popular with urbanites who come to escape the city in search of peace and quiet (it's located just 60 km from Valencia). It's also popular with groups of friends and/or family who come to celebrate meetings or celebrations in a special place.
The villagers are very friendly and welcoming. It's not unusual for some of them to offer to act as Chóvar guides and show our guests every corner of the village. As you can see in the photos, Chóvar has a magical aura...

There is a bar in the village center and another at the Chóvar Olympic-sized swimming pool, a meeting point that welcomes numerous visitors from other towns and cities in the summer. There is also a restaurant at the entrance to the village with a very varied and high-quality cuisine.

The parking lot is in the church square. The house is right next to the church.

To get to the house, park in the town hall square, head toward the church, and enter through the adjacent passageway until you reach the rural house's private square, where there are some antique chairs. Opposite, next to a yellow trunk, is the house.

There's a picnic area called Las Carboneras where you can spend the day surrounded by nature.

It's possible to take nighttime hikes along the road toward Eslida, the neighboring town in the mountains. This involves climbing up the mountain pass, where you'll hear the roar of wild boars, the owl's call, or even come across a fox. This nighttime hike passes by the Las Carboneras picnic area, an idyllic spot in the middle of the forest to spend time with others! The accommodation is located halfway between the two major provincial capitals: we're about 60 km from Valencia and about 50 km from Castellón. The nearest beach is about 20 minutes away (Sagunto).

We accept pets with a €45 supplement per pet.

We are a young family who governs El Colmenar, my wife, me and my son Simón (who presents the house to our guests ;-)). We love nature, sports and adventure; celebrations or events with friends and good conversations, but also healthy living, tranquility and meditation. We are happy to feel that whoever visits us comfortably connects with the town, which usually happens very often, come and discover it.
