Original independent house of 19th century, was renewed in 2009. The interiors are bright and connected to each other; the entrance is from the kitchen – then a small access room leads to the bath room with shower and to the sleeping zone that features a double size bed with mosquito net and a comfortable walk-in closet.
A stair leads up to the mezzanine- living room with a wide glass door opened on the terrace facing the Jonian Sea.
Facing east and at the ground floor of a courtyard of one of the eldest side of the old town, the house has been recently restored enhancing the sea view and the sunrise to enjoy from the small but comfortable terrace as well as from the living room.
At the back of the sumptuous Cathedral square of Acireale and the astonishing beauty of the baroque church of S.Sebastiano, our house is the ideal spot for a holiday made of art and nature; the historical centre and its variety of restaurants and Pizzerie, the daily outdoor fish&fruit market are all at just 5 minutes walking distance while a 17th century walking path, crossing the lush green Natural Preserve of “La Timpa”, leads down to the sea side and to the charming fishing village of Santa Maria la Scala. Do not forget goggles and fins!...amazing depths perfect for snorkeling!!
Here you will also find good fish restaurant and the super good "granita" at Bar La Timpa. "Granita" is a sort of slush that Sicilian have as breakfast at summer time. We eat it with bread or a brioche.
MORE ABOUT GOOD FOOD.....
we recommend to have a pizza at Pizzeria Bambudda at the end of Via Chianello (10 min walking).
To do not miss "Bar Cipriani" (200 meters form your apartment)....any kind of typical Sicilian sweet or salty snacks. Try "arancini" (rice ball) and of course their "granita".
Upon request it is possible to have lunch or dinner in our EcoFarm located on the sloop of Mt. Etna. Meals are based mostly on our product (30 € per two persons, basic menu). You will find a choice of different menu at home, or you can discuss your tailor made menu directly with us. Every meal will start with a testing our Extra virgin Olive oil and Etna red wine! The farm is 25 min drive distance.
even if we are located in the historical center, parking is not a problem (but better to rent a small car).In a range of max 300 meters you can find 3 small squares, many side streets and a big public parking place.
ABOUT DO NOT HAVE A CAR......
if you are looking for a holiday without a car, this is the right place to do it.

Angelo e Christina were great hosts.Angelo welcomed us in the apartment and explained everything. He was also available via phone during the week and helped us to find the right place to get wood for the cozy fireplace.Well,I think we cannot say something new about the apartment. It is amazing and we loved all the nice details. The view from the balcony is beautiful. The apartment is equipped with many guides of the region and Angelo also helped us to find a guide for our tour to the Etna in winter . Acireale is a nice town to stay. The people are nice,it os not crowded and the carnival was awesome. Overall, we really can recommend this nice place.
Cette petite maison joliment décorée est un havre de paix. On s'y sent bien tout de suite. Elle est très bien située à quelques pas du cœur de la ville. Cristina et Angelo ont été formidables. Merci !
Dear Angelo and Cristina,
despite the partly bad weather my Mum and I had a very beautiful and inspiring time! Cooking of delicious fish and vegetables from the market in your apartment in Acireale, the celebration of breakfast on your terrace with sunshine and beautiful view of the sea, and visiting very nice places like Taormina.
You did a lot to make our trip that phenomenal!
But also the very interesting impressions of your country estate with olive trees, wine, and not least the culinary art of Angelo have opened up a new way of seeing things and invited much to think about.
I cherish a desire with my husband for a second time to come back to hopefully explore this beautiful Island in better weather. I'm looking forward to seeing you again then!
We've had great days in this cozy, stylish and originally little house. The balcony is amazing with the morning sun and its wonderful view.
We weren´t disturbed by the trains, which are passing very quickly.
The house has everything you need for a great stay and even the music collection fits with the whole arrangement.
We always found a place for parking in the area.
The house is right in the heart of the city. The market, several supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, cafés and even a lot of the places of interest are accessible on foot.
Cristina was very nice and waited for us in the house when we arrived. She explains everything and gives us several hints enjoying the vacation.
the days in christina's and angelo's house were very nice. the two first days we had no luck with the weather. the more we enjoyed the cozy apartment very much. The location is really nice and without car no problem. you need to count 15 min to walk to the beach and to come back 20 min. but it is a really nice beach. a little paradise.
Unfortunately we had some very noisy nights because there were very loud trains with goods carried on the train track in front of the apartment.
we told christina about it and that was very new for her.
it seems to be an exception, that noisy transport trains drive through in the night. at the day time the trains did not disturb us.
otherwise it was a nice stay.
I asked the train company and yes, it was a special event due to work on the main line so big cargo had to pass by night. So sorry for the inconvenient which, as said, we never experienced before.
A big hug to both of you and all the best!
We spent a wonderful 10 days at Angelo and Cristina's house. The view from the balcony is just like the photo. The house had everything needed for a relaxing vacation.
We were able to find parking near the house and also in a large parking area off of Via Galatea which was not that far from the house (the upper part of the parking lot is for paid parking but the lower part is free).
There are railroad tracks nearby but we were never bothered by any trains. We only noticed the trains if we were sitting on the deck and one went by (all of the trains passed quickly and never disturbed us).
The walk to Santa Maria la Scala was quite challenging (at least on the way back to Acireale) but well worth the effort.
We highly recommend Angelo and Cristina's house. Acireale is a good location from which to visit the eastern part of Sicily.
