Blue Sea House is a wonderful place. The house itself is spacious, comfortably furnished (including the beds), and quiet except for the sound of the waves. The kitchen has everything we needed for cooking. It has large windows and sliding glass doors that can be opened for ventilation, and although it is not air conditioned (as most houses here are not), we never felt uncomfortable. The bathrooms are way beyond what we have at home. We loved being able to shower looking out a shoulder high window at the ocean. The garage is a covered car port that opens onto a covered wood walk to the front door - something we really appreciated when we had a heavy rain last night. Grocery stores are found in either Pahoa (a funky and fun little town about 15 minutes from here) or in Kea-au. And then there is the view. We loved taking chairs out across a beautifully manicured backyard (with the softest grass ever) and sitting by the cliff and watching the waves crashing in on the black rocks. Sunrises are spectacular. This is altogether a wonderful place and we loved being here! We did not meet either Terry or the actual owner, but that didn't matter a bit as we had all the information we needed as well as contact information for them if we needed anything.
Great place! Very comfortable furnishings and setting. The view from the backyard is amazing. The lawn is a great area to hang out and listen to the waves and watch the sunrise. Terry was very helpful and informative from the moment we requested the booking until the day we arrived. I would highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to return.
Perfect place to stay! Everything we needed was there. We spent a lot of time in the yard looking at the beautiful ocean. Thank you, Terry!
This place is just magical. I stayed here with my husband and two boys and it was perfect for us. It feels like a private retreat but you're only a short drive from the wonders of this side of the island. Waking up to the sound and views of the ocean every day was a treat.
The home is very well kept and most everything you could ever need is there.
Terry was very helpful in giving us directions, as we were arriving late at night and concerned with being able to find the home.
Our stay was very nice and peaceful. Terry was a good host and didn't bother us anytime.
Pros: The house is pretty much on an ocean cliff which is awesome. To sit down near the lava cliffs and watch the water hit the cliffs and take your selfies is priceless. It has very comfortable beds, showers, huge and breezy living space keeps the house naturally cool; an awesome kitchen to cook your meals. Also a fun 4 mile bumpy road leads you to the house.
Cons: No good options to go eat out in a 8-10 mile range. But I guess if you plan to cook your meals this wouldn't matter.
The house and property were absolutely beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and semi-remote which we loved. It was really wonderful at night, very serene and the stars were beautiful.
The home is well stocked for beach go-ers. It was a great base for us to explore the island. Terry made it very easy to get to and get in the house. We are already trying to plan when we can come back.
This home is truly special and is one of our favorite places we have ever stayed. The views are exceptional and we spent hours just watching the ocean, sky, etc. change. The home is also very spacious and is perfect for two couples as there is a lot of privacy the way the home is laid out. The kitchen was surprisingly well appointed. We love the Hilo side of the Big Island and the location of this house is fairly close to all the attractions we were interested in, such as Volcano National Park, hikes, tide pools, etc.
