I travel with elders and kids in a group of 10pax. Overall, it is a clean and nice apartment suitable for big group. Though the mattress of the double decker bed a bit thin and hard. The stay was pleasant. Suggest you go thru the cupboards and drawers carefully. You will find the basic supplies such as the toilet paper, hangers , Hair dryer etc. Located just next to the MTR station with lots of food and shops available around the apartment. The apartment is just a street away from Temple street and is convenient to travel around Hong Kong using MTR. Basic necessity is available but if you travel with big group, you may want to bring along your personal toiletries and some basic instant drinks or food. Ms Tsang and the building caretakers were very nice to us.
Basically we had a bad start to the accommodation here. First of all the unit we originally rented was not available as the water heater was out of service. As such we were given another unit.
We also have problem contacting the person who was suppose to meet us. She did not pick up her phone.
Overall the unit we stayed in was clean and very well located near to the MTR. All the facilities such as hot water and wifi were working fine.
Great location!!! Simens & Ms. Tsang was kind enough to let us drop of our baggages at the apartment before check-in time as we had an early flight. The 7 of us stayed 5 nights in this cozy apartment and fit in comfortably but it is definitely not 1300 sq. ft. as listed. On the 4th day of our stay, I rang up Ms. Tsang to ask if there were anyone coming over to clean the apartment but was told that we need to advice her in advance. Anyhow, we did enjoyed our stay!
Great location! The MTR station of Yau Ma Tei was literally at the doorstep of the building. Food and supermarkets within walking distance. The apartment was cozy, a little bit cramp, but this is HK standard. Simens was very helpful. We were a party of 9 and we did fit in comfortably. Even the building doormen were friendly, even if we could not fully communicate. This place makes a wonderful base to go around HK. We had absolutely no trouble taking the bus from the airport and walking for 5 minutes to the place. However, the only thing was we didnt know how to get back to the airport by bus. So we ended up taking a cab to the Kowloon express station for around HK $25, then taking the airport train. It's actually nearer the train station than our usual hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui. Thanks very much Simens.
This apartment is located at the Bell House Building (525 Nathan Road) just a couple of metres away from exit B1 of Yau Ma Tei MTR. Therefore, it is a very convenient place for travelers who wish to explore Hong Kong by the MTR (clearly the most sensible choice of transport in this congested city). There are also many retail outlets, fast food, restaurants, eateries selling porridge, desserts, snacks, etc. around the vicinity of the apartment.
The apartment is located on the 16th floor hence we have to take the elevators, which I think are the tiniest ones I have seen! The elevator is only good for 3 adults max! So for those with big luggage, you might just need to occupy the whole lift by yourself. So for those considering to rent this apartment, do schedule some extra time to take traverse from the apartment to the ground floor via the 3 mini elevators.
Generally, the apartment looks similar to what were shown in the photos however the size might be a little misleading as this place is nowhere near 1,300 square feet as described. Nonetheless, the 3 rooms (including the sofa bed at the hall) do sleep 9 people comfortably.
Our main grouse was the care taker, Ms Tsang, a mainland chinese lady who was tasked to look after the apartment. On the day we arrived, Simens told us to wait at a designated entrance of the building however Simens did not turn up and asked Ms Tsang to meet us instead. Ms Tsang made us wait for more than 30mins and worst of all, she complained that we had waited at the wrong location! After we finally met her, she brought us to the apartment which was not ready for check-in, hence we have to wait another half an hour to watch her changing the bed linens, sweeping the floor and taking down laundry which were hung in the bedroom. I would rather the host tell me to check in later than let us see all the mess at the start of our stay.
What irked us was that someone, probably Ms Tsang again, entered the apartment on 2 other occasions during our stay which I found it intrusive and not appropriate in view of privacy and security reasons.
In conclusion, Simens (whom I never met in person) maintained good communication from the pre-reservation phase to pre-checkin phase. Our encounter with Ms Tsang somewhat marred our otherwise good experience. This apartment is a good and economical place to stay in the Mongkok, Kowloon region for families or large group of friends intending to explore Hong Kong.
It is a very nice and clean place. The place is very accessible to transportation and almost everything! I arrived late because my flight was delayed and the host was very accommodating even in the middle of the night! My party was satisfied and will surely book it again.
