I am offering 2 bedrooms (1 double + 1 queen) in my cozy and clean apartment located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in town. One can walk to downtown Northampton, Smith College, the PVTA bus stop which connects to lots of near by towns, a couple of grocery stores and a very pretty park. I have a washer and dryer which you can use and wireless internet access.Of course, you would have full access to my entire apartment (except my rather messy catch all room) which includes a well equipped kitchen, full bath and homey living room with a flat screen TV and an outside porch overlooking my peaceful neighborhood. You must be able to tolerate my old and sleepy cat, Sparky. She prefers to be outside when the weather is warm. Please don't bring your pet. She would be unhappy. I look forward to meeting friendly trustworthy people in need of accommodations on a temporary basis. See other listing (Cozy+Clean...Great Location...1BR) to rent a single bedroom. Can accommodate up to 6 at an additional fee.
I would expect that you would leave my place in the condition that you found it in which will be spotless and orderly.
Great place in a quiet residential neighborhood not far from downtown. We felt welcome and comfortable. The place was exactly as advertised and Trudy was nice to deal with.
Loved, loved staying here. Trudy made us feel so welcome. Her home is cozy, comfortable and has all the necessities you will need. She had left us some breakfast items which we used up and loved. Her cat, Sparky, was such a sweet cat and very friendly. The neighborhood was very nice and safe. Loved the walking distance to Smith. Beds and linens were great as well. Definitely want to stay here again.
I stayed at Trudys place with my 3 sons. It was a delightful cozy home with a friendly cat. It was close to town and extremely comfortable. I highly recommend Trudys place.
We stayed at Trudy's place for two nights while visiting Northampton for a wedding. The apartment was lovely and unique. It's in a great neighborhood within walking distance to downtown. We felt very safe there, and the apartment was very clean. There are tenants above and below Trudy's unit, but they were very quiet. Trudy added some nice touches like leaving a welcome note on the stairs and several breakfast items in the fridge. I left my phone charger there and she has offered to send it, which is very considerate. The only complaint I have is regarding the cat situation. To be fair, Trudy is very clear that you must be willing to share the space with Sparky. However, you need to be more than moderately tolerance of cats if you are going to stay here. For example, the bedroom door of the larger room does not lock and Sparky was able to paw her way in even with the door shut. We had to use a belt to secure the door. She meowed loudly for a bit when we wouldn't let her in. It wasn't a huge deal, but I do have a mild cat allergy and didn't want her on the bed where we were sleeping. Other than that, the place was great.
Trudy's place was so charming, we didn't want to leave! We had a great time hanging out with Sparky the cat, and especially enjoyed the wonderful porch. Trudy also left us breakfast items - so thoughtful! Would definitely recommend Trudy's place for others looking for a home away from home just outside of downtown Northampton.
My co-worker and I had a lovely visit at Trudy's for an entire week while attending a workshop at Smith College. Her apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood with lots of wonderful homes. We were able to walk to Smith College Campus for our class and even downtown no problem. Sparky is quite the companion and made a great pet for the week. Our favorite feature of Trudy's is the porch with a swing which helped us relax after very long days in class. We had a couple of questions during our visit and Trudy was quick to respond. Thank you for opening up your home to us! Much better than a hotel room.
We had a fantastic time at Trudy's apartment. Trudy left a detailed note about the apartment itself and was very accessible by phone in the chance that we needed help with anything.
The space itself was great - lovely rooms, very comfortable for four people. Beautiful block in Northampton and amazing location. We were able to walk to everything downtown as well as Smith College campus.
Overall, our stay could not have been better. We hope to stay at Trudy's place again next time we are in the pioneer valley!

I have worked as a labor and delivery nurse at a local hospital for the past 30 years. I am originally from Williamstown, Ma and have lived many different places before settling down here, marrying and raising 3 daughters who are now in their 20's. My motivation for hosting people in my home is primarily economic (those nagging college bills are looming over my head still) but I genuinely have a welcoming nature and an interest in meeting new people of all ages. I am an excellent source in terms of navigating the streets of New England, finding the best places to eat depending on your budget, recreational opportunities, cultural events............. You can walk to downtown Northampton, the bus route to local communities and even some museums from my house which is located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in town.
My home is very cozy and clean. Of course, you would have use of the kitchen and full bathroom. Sheets and towels provided. If you are interested in staying here you must be able to tolerate my very lazy and old cat, Sparky. and please don't bring your pets. Sparky would flip out. Happy to answer any questions ahead of making your choice.
