Interaction with guests

Have questions about tiny houses? I offer 1-hour consultation sessions to help you with your own plans in conjunction with your reservation for an additional $30 (weekdays only, with some exceptions). Just let me know you're interested at the time of booking.

Though my family resides on the property, I live a short distance away. I am always a phone call away & able to come out to meet you should any concerns arise. Check-in is "self check-in", and you just let yourself into the house with the key code provided upon booking.

I’m an Olympian born & raised & keep lots of info on things to do in the area, and would be happy to give you personalized suggestions for exploring the town & area!

Although very quiet & rural, the Bungalow is just an 8-minute drive from coffee shops, restaurants & grocery stores, and a quick 15-minute drive from artsy, whimsical downtown Olympia.

Getting around

Most guests arrive by car, as there are no close public transit stops. The nearest bus stop is the Hawks Prarie Park & Ride, which is 5 miles away. The Lacey Transit Center & Olympia Transit Center are other nearby hubs from where you can catch an Uber or taxi to the tiny house.

Other things to note

Unique features of the tiny house:
*Ceiling clearance in the kitchen is 6’ 2”.
**Climbing in and out of the loft bed on a narrow, steep ladder requires agility and balance. Please see the photos in this listing and consider whether you will be able to climb up and down from the loft without putting yourself in danger.

The Bungalow is based on the Cypress design from the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company.

What a great experience staying in a tiny house. It really didn't feel small at all. Had fun exploring the surrounding grounds and the nearby beach. I'll be back.

My husband stayed here to experience tiny house living and he basically loved it. You are within a few hours drive away from so many things whether you want city life or nature. The home is comfortable and fun to stay in. The location is amazing. Take a short walk to the beach or forest. The host was always very pleasant even though we only spoke via email. His one complaint was that the bathroom was too small.

Brittany's bungalow is absolutely wonderful for a weekend getaway. The location is gorgeous and perfect if you want to get out on the trails or explore the beach. The tiny house was warm and cozy and had everything we needed. She even has an empty growler that we filled up at a local brewpub! We would definitely recommend it!

Brittany's place is fabulous! The location is peaceful and the house had every comfort of home that I could want. It's a drive to Olympia but well worth it for the view of the water from the loft and the peaceful mornings. This was my first tiny house experience and it was a great introduction.

This was the greatest place to stay. It is about a 25 min drive to downtown Olympia, but the bayside view is spectacular. Brittany was great at communicating and very accommodating.

Brittany User ProfileBrittany is a superhost.

I'm from Olympia, WA - born & raised. I love to travel, hike, build tiny houses & ski in the winter! Get me outdoors and I'm happy!

I built the Bayside Bungalow in 2008 and lived in it for 2 years. Since then, I have been renting it out to friends, family, & visitors so that they too can experience life in a tiny house. I love small, efficient living and am happy to be able to share my tiny house with others. I also teach tiny house design & building workshops with the Tumbleweed Tiny House company, and offer personalized consulting to visitors at the Bungalow upon request.
