Enjoy a tiny house getaway while trying out small living and enjoying the peace of Puget Sound's shoreline. Hand-built by your host, Brittany, the “Bayside Bungalow” tiny house, is a micro-cottage on wheels located on rural waterfront property overlooking the Puget Sound, in Olympia, WA. The Bungalow is perched on a hill above a vintage log home, with peek-a-boo views of the Puget Sound, nestled between fruit trees and surrounded by a lush garden and tall fir trees. Enjoy a campfire at the fire ring, or access the beach via a short trail down the bluff. Views across the water of the Olympic Mountains are stunning! Tolmie State Park is a stone's throw away, which has several miles of walking trails through the estuary and a place to launch your kayak if you’re a paddler.
Although very quiet & rural, the Bungalow is just an 8-minute drive from coffee shops, restaurants & grocers, and a quick 15-minute drive from artsy, whimsical downtown Olympia. I’m an Olympian born & raised & keep lots of info on things to do in the area, and would be happy to give you personalized suggestions for exploring the town & area!

I had the best time there! The main word I have used to describe it to people is cozy and comfortable. I thought it might be too small. I went to her open house in August 2013 and the house was full of people but having just me there to stay this time, it was just right! It has a little alcove area surrounded by windows that is super cozy. The loft with the sky light has an amazing view and is comfortable with the electric blanket and nice comforter. The property has all you could want or need. There is the water pretty much right outside the door and you literally turn around and go for a walk/hike in the fairy tale lush green mountains. She even has a fire pit just below her tiny house. Brittany made sure my stay was nice, even by leaving chocolates :) I had everything I needed for my 4 nights there. It rained most of the time and I have a new appreciation for the rain and the way it sounds on the roof sipping my coffee and just 'being'. She made everything really convenient and was SUPER nice to deal with. She put up with a lot of emails lol. At the end of my stay, I was sad to leave. I'm currently saving to live tiny and was so glad Brittany hosted me and let me live in her cute little home for a few days. I can't wait to live tiny myself. It's small but also so spacious. She had this well thought out and built. It's so cute! Thank you, Thank you Brittany and airbnb for having her on your site.
We had a wonderful, wintry weekend in the tiny house on the bay. We bundled up in warm clothes and hiked on the trails in Tolmie Park, admired herons and hawks at the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge, and cooked up delicious dinners in the tiny kitchen. One night I fell asleep listening to an owl hooting in the nearby forest. I am not a camper - I've never even slept in a tent - and I was a little concerned about how I would fare in a tiny house. Everything was immaculate, well thought out, and easy to manage.
The Tiny House is exactly that... and a perfect house! The view was exquisite, the quiet surrounding the house so calming and peaceful- it was the perfect getaway. I loved every moment there. Brittany made sure everything was going well during my stay, and checked in periodically to make sure things were good. I would return in a heartbeat!
Couldn't have asked for a better first time experience in a Tiny Home. I loved every detail and care she took in both the floor-planning as well as the art and storage. Nothing ever felt crowded or out of place. I was able to cook a wonderful meal and have one of the best nights sleep i've had in a very long time. The scenic location really puts everything into perspective and helps you slow down to enjoy every moment. I'm so thankful that she has opened up her home like this so that those of us who are on the edge about building a Tiny House of our own can test drive the waters :) I can go forward with my own plans knowing that I would feel comfortable with living in this scale.
This was a fantabulous time! My husband and I needed a quaint getaway near nature and this was perfection. I had not pondered the possibilities of living smaller until our visit. I loved the cozy sleeping loft. It is the perfect spot for reading and writing, Waking up to the ocean view through the trees via the skylight was priceless. Brittany was easy to communicate with and has made this tiny house a warm inviting home. I didn't want to leave!
Staying at the Tiny House was enjoyable and an eye opener.
We felt really welcomed. We always wandered how it would be to live in a Tiny House and have been discussing it for a long time now. It was great to be able to actually try it for a few days. It is much bigger than we thought :)
Brittany made this Tiny Home feel cozy and homey. We felt like we belong there during our stay.
The view from the house is astonishing! We loved how serene the atmosphere and quiet was.
Brittany was always available and easy to communicate with. She made the booking process super smooth.
We would recommend to anyone with a little bit of curiosity to stay at the Tiny House :)
WOW what a magic tiny house! We turned up after dark and didn't realise how incredible the surroundings were until the next morning. A view of Puget sound from the loftbed skylight, through the trees of the property. A beautiful sight to wake up to! There is something very romantic about inhabiting such a tiny space that provides for all the daily rituals; cooking below and sleeping above. A tiny home surrounded by an incredible expansive view of the ocean and on the edge of the Tolmie State park.
Would totally recommend this and would come back in a flash, perfect for any kind of magic sojourn!
Brittany's tiny house is cozy and delightful, and in an idyllic spot, close to the park and the water. I stayed the weekend and had everything I needed. It's an easy drive into Olympia from the tiny house, but you might not want to leave!
I absolutely LOVED staying here. I'm hesitant to talk it up too much because I don't want everyone renting "my" little getaway home, but to be honest, it was just a delight. The Tiny House was quaint and charming, with lots of cozy touches. The skylight loft bed complete with heated blanket was the best! I loved the location as well. There was private Puget Sound beach access and a state park just down the road. It was a perfect relaxing getaway for me and my little dog. If I'm ever in Olympia again, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
The tiny house is AMAZING.
Brittany was a very welcoming and accommodating host.
The house was surrounded by woods and close to the water. It was incredibly clean and had several amenities. I just loved everything about being at the house.
I really wish my bf and I could have spent more time there. I HIGHLY recommend the tiny house and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
