  • This was by far the best overnight experience I have ever had. It felt like a home, very cozy and warm. I would do it again for the peaceful feeling and relaxation, as well as the reasoning behind it, (and that was to build a tiny house of my own). I would recommend this cozy bungalow to friends and family. It was an excellent way to get in touch with nature and myself:) I believe it would be lovely for couples as well. How romantic:)

  • Great place! Loved the tiny house and the area. Hope to book again!

  • My husband and I loved our stay! It was clean, and stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals.

We even loved how it was decorated.

The location was perfect!!! I was amazed that a ten minute drive took us out of a quiet peaceful forest and into a bustling city that had delicious restaurants and all sorts of shopping.

We went for a walk to the park down the road and had a great time using the nature trails or just following the water along the beach.

The best thing about this trip was getting to experience living in a fencl! We now know that we both can live in one and enjoy it!

  • This was a wonderful getaway all around! The tiny house was clean, so sweet and cozy, and very well-appointed, the area was beautiful and peaceful, and Brittany was an attentive and helpful hostess! Whether you're interested in the "tiny life", or just need a retreat this is a great escape!

  • I've been crazy about these little houses since I first saw them about 4 yrs ago featured on (website hidden)I had the fun experience of building a couple cabins on my parents' property when I was in high school and learned a lot about building and construction. My wife was really impressed with how roomy and comfortable this tiny house was, and I think she secretly wants one now! Now to figure out how to design one (or a couple) to tolerate living with two kids and not go insane! I'm sure there's got to be a way! The tiny house community would be totally taken by storm if we could pull that off! Thanks for the opportunity to experience this ourselves! Great job, and fun learning experience.... we will be back!

    Response from Brittany:

I'm glad you had an enjoyable time at the Bungalow! I'd love to have you (and your children) back sometime!

  • I had the best time there! The main word I have used to describe it to people is cozy and comfortable. I thought it might be too small. I went to her open house in August 2013 and the house was full of people but having just me there to stay this time, it was just right! It has a little alcove area surrounded by windows that is super cozy. The loft with the sky light has an amazing view and is comfortable with the electric blanket and nice comforter. The property has all you could want or need. There is the water pretty much right outside the door and you literally turn around and go for a walk/hike in the fairy tale lush green mountains. She even has a fire pit just below her tiny house. Brittany made sure my stay was nice, even by leaving chocolates :) I had everything I needed for my 4 nights there. It rained most of the time and I have a new appreciation for the rain and the way it sounds on the roof sipping my coffee and just 'being'. She made everything really convenient and was SUPER nice to deal with. She put up with a lot of emails lol. At the end of my stay, I was sad to leave. I'm currently saving to live tiny and was so glad Brittany hosted me and let me live in her cute little home for a few days. I can't wait to live tiny myself. It's small but also so spacious. She had this well thought out and built. It's so cute! Thank you, Thank you Brittany and airbnb for having her on your site.

  • We had a wonderful, wintry weekend in the tiny house on the bay. We bundled up in warm clothes and hiked on the trails in Tolmie Park, admired herons and hawks at the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge, and cooked up delicious dinners in the tiny kitchen. One night I fell asleep listening to an owl hooting in the nearby forest. I am not a camper - I've never even slept in a tent - and I was a little concerned about how I would fare in a tiny house. Everything was immaculate, well thought out, and easy to manage.

  • The Tiny House is exactly that... and a perfect house! The view was exquisite, the quiet surrounding the house so calming and peaceful- it was the perfect getaway. I loved every moment there. Brittany made sure everything was going well during my stay, and checked in periodically to make sure things were good. I would return in a heartbeat!

  • Very unique & wonderful experience! If you are thinking about tiny living, this is a good start. The space is much larger than you would think given that the bed is above you in the loft, making it different than a travel trailer/airstream. The space was a little intimidating for my wife, toddler, and myself on our first night, but we adjusted to the space by the following morning. Brittany was a good host, and communicated w me through the whole process. We left something behind on our travels, and she promptly shipped it back to us quickly. I definitely hype this place up & recommend to those traveling through Olympia! You'll thank me once you see the stars through that incredible skylight of hers!

  • Hello, I had an amazing time staying at the Bayside Bungalow. Brittany (owner) was very helpful in arranging my stay!
Staying at the Bayside Bungalow was the perfect opportunity for me to experiment with tiny house living. I loved it! Brittany thoughtfully had books, notebooks and a tape measure - all for documenting and learning more about tiny house living. She provided helpful maps, a notebook of local attractions and careful instructions for all of her appliances. Next time, I would allow myself a lot more time to walk on the beach and explore Olympia.
I have already referred friends to this rental and hope to stay there again. Enjoy!

I'm from Olympia, WA - born & raised. I love to travel, hike, build tiny houses & ski in the winter! Get me outdoors and I'm happy! I built the Bayside Bungalow in 2008 and lived in it for 2 years. Since then, I have been renting it out to friends, family, & visitors so that they too can experience life in a tiny house. I love small, efficient living and am happy to be able to share my tiny house with others. I also teach tiny house design & building workshops for the Tumbleweed Tiny House company.
