In the spring, summer and fall months, start your mornings with a leisurely breakfast, watching the sunrise from the deck or stone patio overlooking a beautiful meadow, wetland and beaver pond. Watch for the beaver or ducks and geese that sail in from time to time. Witness the wildlife that frequent our wetland area: fox, deer, moose, and a wide array of birds.

This house sits just a 5 minute walk from the Washington Forest; there is terrific mountain biking and quiet country walking close by. Walk with the kids to a local dairy farm, horse farm or swimming hole. Visit the local massage therapist and have a soak in her outdoor hot tub (by appointment). Horse people.....the Vershire Riding School, premiere riding, is a 1/2 hour walk through the woods. A 10 minute car ride will get you to trail rides as well as organic blueberry and apple picking in season. For the gallery goer, there are excellent artists and crafts-persons hidden in these hills. There is even a sculptor on our very own property!

In the winter you can begin your day with a cross country ski right from your door; take advantage of the VAST skimobile trail or break trail and explore the logging trails which wind for miles throughout our area. Not a skier? Snowshoe through wetlands watching for animal tracks, or sled on hills on and around the property. The Washington Forest, with its exciting number of interconnected pristine logging trails, is just a short ski away. For the alpine skier we are centrally located to major ski resorts in the region: Pico/Killington, Stowe, Ascutney, Sugarbush, Mad River Valley, Burke, Dartmouth Skiway, Suicide Six and more.

You are renting a beautiful 4 bedroom duplex home (caretakers are in an adjoining home) with 1 ½ baths (deep soaking tub), living room and kitchen. This is a completely furnished house with everything available for the entertainment of the whole family; just bring your clothes, skis and groceries. The kitchen is supplied with condiments, spices and herbs and the basic cooking necessities in addition to complete kitchenware. For an at-cost, honor system usage fee, you can relax about remembering the olive oil, cumin and flour.

Enjoy one of the more beautiful country scenes from the 16 feet of window wall overlooking gorgeous wetlands and woods. Rock next to the cozy fire view of the Hearthstone soapstone stove. Wrap yourself in the down comforters and cotton sheets available to you in each room, as well as the cotton towels. All these amenities add up to a truly comfy, comforting experience in Vermont. Your rental includes wood, laundry facilities, as well as phone and WiFi. It is great for a single family, two families, a small reunion and groups.

  • Bonnie and Louie have an amazing house in a great location! We spent 5 nights instead of 4 on the New Year, just because we cuoldn't leave that charming place with all the beautiful views from the windows. Area has a lot of slopes around the house, so we spent a great time skiing, snowboarding and riding snow sleds. Bonnie and Louie are great hosts and were helping us with everything we needed. I would highly recommend a vacation at Bonnie's house!!!

  • My family had a wonderful time at Bonnie's cosy and charming place. We could enjoy the real rural Vermont, walk in the snowy woods, visit Stowe and Woodstock and relax in front of the fire place. Bonnie and her family are very kind and helpful. The house is spacious and charming. I highly recommend a vacation at Bonnie's house

  • We had a lovely stay at Bonnie's home. It's a really nice setup since the guest quarters are totally separate yet accessible to their adjacent residence. Bonnie gave us a warm welcome and provided us with all the needed information about the home and surrounding area. The place is very clean, warm and cozy, as were the beds! The campfire was a great addition. The only thing to note is that this place really is in the middle of nowhere (which is in part what we wanted), so expect to drive an hour or so to get to certain 'attractions' aka Ben & Jerry's. I would definitely go back!

  • We had a great time at Bonnie's. She, her husband and her son are very nice hosts, they take time to speak with whenever you need. I had tons of questions before coming and she answered quickly (and patiently !) to everyone of them. The house is gorgeous, everything you need (laundry included), and very spacious. The pictures don't give it justice. We were 10 and we still had space. During the days, we did some sleding (with the sleds provided), went to several farms that Bonnie indicated to us, nicely calling before to check if visits were possible. On evenings we would cook, and play with the board games we found there. The kids loved it, played in every rooms, loved the piano, etc. My only regret, not been able to find the button to make the hot tub works (my mistake, forgot to ask Bonnie !). The perfect gateway either your a group of friends or family(ies). The real Vermont indeed, but the very nice one !

  • We spent a lovely three day weekend up in this home away from home. We were two families with five kids ages 3-7. The place is beautiful, even more so than we had imagined based on the photos. We loved the snowy scenery, the serenity and the immediate access to nature. The house itself is beautifully arranged and we felt like it was the perfect vacation.
We cooked, listened to music, read by the fire, and enjoyed being together.
The kids enjoyed sledding, playing in the different rooms of the house, and just hanging around the wooden stove.
Bonnie and Louie were wonderful hosts and took care of all our needs yet kept a perfect balance with letting our group enjoy its intimacy.
No doubt we will be back! Thank you so much.

  • We truly did have a Real Vermont Experience during our New Year’s weekend in Chelsea! The house was both cozy and spacious; the wood stove kept it way warmer than our home in California. The common area had plenty of seating for our group of four, and the kitchen met our needs easily. There are tons of beds in the upstairs bedrooms. We made do with a king and a queen. Both were comfy, and the rooms provided plenty of privacy. The house could definitely hold a larger group. The bathroom is arranged so that the bath, toilet and sinks were divided by doors for privacy. We loved the soaking tub after our outdoor adventures. The proximity to the caretaker home was different than our typical vacation rental experience, but it provided more privacy than a B & B. We rather liked the set up, and really appreciated learning about the area and the care that Bonnie took in giving us a guided tour of the immediate area.

If you want a local’s tour please sign up for Bonnie’s guided cross-country skiing tour. We were treated to the most serene and quiet experience as we maneuvered our way through the snowy Vermont woods, and were treated to hot chocolate at the end of our trip. Bonnie was a great instructor for our group of novices, and it seems pretty clear she can take a group of seasoned skiers on quite an adventure. Bonnie went above and beyond arranging for all our other outdoor adventure needs, providing snow shoes and sleds for lots of outdoor playing. She made sure the wood stove was maintained and even lent us hats!

I think what we loved most was getting out of the city. The house is in such a beautiful location, several miles down a country road. It’s beautiful, quiet and unspoiled country. I’d definitely recommend it.

I love my home and where I live. It took me years to appreciate the solitude of my location and to release the need for undo excitement and stimulation. My meditation practice sustains me which includes a daily 4 mile walk on a route where I get to stop and visit with a neighbor and have a morning cup of tea or sometimes a hearty breakfast. It feels like a real life rather than just racing through my days. When I was a kid the musical "Stop the World I Want to Get Off" really reasonated with me. I could not live without my four children and Krishna; three of my adult children, who live in Hawaii, introduced me to Bhakti Yoga five years ago and life has never been the same. I am grateful every day for this understanding. I just watched a Beatles documentary on George and feel a lovely connection to him via our common love. I am also smitten with SRK (you Bollywood folks will know who I am talking about) and his movies because they are simple and sweet and touch on important themes of family, prejudice, harmful traditions, faith and caring. I am a vegetarian and non-drinker headed towards veganism....but I cannot seem to let go of the dairy just yet. I have eaten macrobiotically and gone raw for six months and am always playing with improving my health and eating choices. I do not believe I am an overt proselytizer for my beliefs although I am imagining friends giggling as they read this. :) A significant personality revealing motto: "A place for everything and everything in its place" husband, the crazy messy artist, might wish my motto was otherwise although he benefits when he can find his wallet!!!! I am excited about having folks come to our place. I like to create experiences for others and help them have wholesome good fun; my parties are usually charades and silly interactive games. For our Airbnb guests I am enjoying thinking about the various local activities that I can find; in addition to sports, nature and leisure, we have a lot of interesting, quirky artists around and I plan to contact them to see if they would enjoy appointments with my guests to see their work privately. I look forward to hosting you and your family and friends. Let me know what your hopes and dreams are for your visit to Vermont and let's see what we can make happen!
