Description:

In the spring, summer and fall months, start your mornings with a leisurely breakfast, watching the sunrise from the deck or stone patio overlooking a beautiful meadow, wetland and beaver pond. Watch for the beaver or ducks and geese that sail in from time to time. Witness the wildlife that frequent our wetland area: fox, deer, moose, and a wide array of birds.

This house sits just a 5 minute walk from the Washington Forest; there is terrific mountain biking and quiet country walking close by. Walk with the kids to a local dairy farm, horse farm or swimming hole. Visit the local massage therapist and have a soak in her outdoor hot tub (by appointment). Horse people.....the Vershire Riding School, premiere riding, is a 1/2 hour walk through the woods. A 10 minute car ride will get you to trail rides as well as organic blueberry and apple picking in season. For the gallery goer, there are excellent artists and crafts-persons hidden in these hills. There is even a sculptor on our very own property!

In the winter you can begin your day with a cross country ski right from your door; take advantage of the VAST skimobile trail or break trail and explore the logging trails which wind for miles throughout our area. Not a skier? Snowshoe through wetlands watching for animal tracks, or sled on hills on and around the property. The Washington Forest, with its exciting number of interconnected pristine logging trails, is just a short ski away. For the alpine skier we are centrally located to major ski resorts in the region: Pico/Killington, Stowe, Ascutney, Sugarbush, Mad River Valley, Burke, Dartmouth Skiway, Suicide Six and more.

You are renting a beautiful 4 bedroom duplex home (caretakers are in an adjoining home) with 1 ½ baths (deep soaking tub), living room and kitchen. This is a completely furnished house with everything available for the entertainment of the whole family; just bring your clothes, skis and groceries. The kitchen is supplied with condiments, spices and herbs and the basic cooking necessities in addition to complete kitchenware. For an at-cost, honor system usage fee, you can relax about remembering the olive oil, cumin and flour.

Enjoy one of the more beautiful country scenes from the 16 feet of window wall overlooking gorgeous wetlands and woods. Rock next to the cozy fire view of the Hearthstone soapstone stove. Wrap yourself in the down comforters and cotton sheets available to you in each room, as well as the cotton towels. All these amenities add up to a truly comfy, comforting experience in Vermont. Your rental includes wood, laundry facilities, as well as phone and WiFi. It is great for a single family, two families, a small reunion and groups.

This was my second time staying at Bonnie's house. The first time I stayed here I was with my girlfriend and some friends. This second time, my girlfriend is now my wife, and we decided we want to make this trip an annual tradition! Both times my wife and I stayed here, we came in October when the leaves were jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I love this house, the surrounding property, and Vermont in general. The photos on this website don't do the house justice!

Excellent place for leaf-peeping and immersing yourself in the beauty of the Vermont countryside. Great for families or romantic getaways.

Bonnie and her husband were incredibly accommodating and patient with us. The pictures do not do the property justice, it really is a magical place. The space is very cozy, and but at the same time had plenty of natural light during the day. The wood stove is very charming and kept us quite warm throughout the entire stay. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We were a group of 10 adults and we found that even with that many people, we were able to find our own space and not feel crammed. There were plenty of beds and space for air mattresses and even though there was only one and a half bathroom, we never had issues with bathroom use. There is a sauna available, although we did not use it, but we did use the Jacuzzi which was a nice amenity to have. The Jacuzzi is outside so at night it is amazing to sit and relax under the stars. There was also a fire pit available, but it was buried in snow, although we could have used it had we been motivated to dig it up. We also took advantage of some of the snow mobile trails that surround the property and had a fun time sledding down hills. There were plenty of games and movies to entertain us when we just wanted to relax inside. We spent a good fours hours playing a very intense Jenga tournament and had a blast just relaxing. The only down side was there is a No Alcohol policy, which as adults is a real bummer, even though we understood the reason why. The house is divided by a foyer that you would share with the host but we rarely saw them. However, keep in mind that it is their home and they may be in the property during your stay, although they were very respectful and we had plenty of privacy. Other than that, we all had such a great time and felt incredibly recharged after a fun and relaxing weekend. We are even hoping to come back in the summer!

Bonnie was welcoming and accommodating while we stayed at her cozy home in remote Vermont.

While in Chelsea for a wedding, we opted to stay here and it worked out perfectly. With few options to goose from in the area, this worked out as one of the best of the guests given its close proximity to all the activities we attended. The private nature of the the home and hosts was ideal. They were both responsive and attentive but not overwhelming. The scenery and location is one of great beauty. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we would most definitely consider staying here again!

We stayed at Bonnie's place for a long weekend while we attended a family wedding. It was so nice to come back to a home each night after our long days. Having a common area was important so we could spend time together. We played some board games one night and I think everyone found their own comfy spot to relax and read. My 2 year old son loved exploring her beautiful garden and yard. Bonnie is super nice and accommodating. It was raining for the wedding and she gave us umbrellas to take with us and even offered my mom some rain boots to go over her shoes.

It was an excellent experience and Bonnie was a fantastic host. The one thing I will say is it's not an easy trip to get to the house.

Response from Bonnie:
I agree Jon! That's why I call it the REAL Vermont experience! Hard-pack gravel/dirt roads are the reality for Vermonters.....imagine "mud season" for us, it's quite the adventure. Glad the trip was worth it for you and your family. Our location is a real vacation from all that is "city" or "suburbs".

I love my home and where I live. It took me years to appreciate the solitude of my location and to release the need for undo excitement and stimulation. My meditation practice sustains me which includes a daily 4 mile walk on a route where I get to stop and visit with a neighbor and have a morning cup of tea or sometimes a hearty breakfast. It feels like a real life rather than just racing through my days. When I was a kid the musical "Stop the World I Want to Get Off" really resonated with me.

I could not live without my four children and Krishna; three of my adult children, who live in Hawaii, introduced me to Bhakti Yoga eight years ago and life has never been the same. I am grateful every day for this understanding. I just watched a Beatles documentary on George and feel a lovely connection to him via our common love. I am also smitten with SRK (you Bollywood folks will know who I am talking about) and his movies because they are simple and sweet and touch on important themes of family, prejudice, harmful traditions, faith and caring.

I am a vegetarian and non-drinker headed towards vegan-ism....but I cannot seem to let go of the dairy just yet. I have tried a macrobiotic lifestyle for a time to heal melanoma and gone raw for six months and am always playing with improving my health and eating choices. I do not believe I am an overt proselytizer for my beliefs although I am imagining friends giggling as they read this. :)

A significant personality revealing motto: "A place for everything and everything in its husband, the crazy messy artist, might wish my motto was otherwise although he benefits when he can find his wallet!!!!

I am excited about having folks come to our place. I like to create experiences for others and help them have wholesome good fun; my parties are usually charades and silly interactive games. For our Airbnb guests I am enjoying thinking about the various local activities that I can find; in addition to sports, nature and leisure, we have a lot of interesting, quirky artists around and I plan to contact them to see if they would enjoy appointments with my guests to see their work privately.

I look forward to hosting you and your family and friends. Let me know what your hopes and dreams are for your visit to Vermont and let's see what we can make happen!
