Light filled apartment with hard wood floors, queen bed, twin bed, full kitchen and bath. Access to bountiful garden for lounging, grilling and sipping. 10 block walk to the Chain of Lakes and 3 blocks from multiple restaurants, breweries and shops.
Make yourself at home in the kitchen with a provided cup of french pressed coffee as you overlook the quiet, tree lined street below. You can also relax after an adventurous day walking the lakes, paddling canoes, or exploring the award winning bike trails. You will have access to a gas grill for picnic style meals in the lush backyard. At night relax with a movie or enjoy one of the local books from the book shelf. We have information and brochures available on many of the sites and sounds and opportunities in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Ample safe parking on the street. Note that there is one semi-steep flight of stairs to get to the second floor entrance. We do not consider this apartment handicap accessible.
You will have access to a private full kitchen, equipped for your cooking needs. This includes basic spices, olive oil, coffe, tea. You can also use the backyard for grilling or relaxing. You are welcome to explore the space, cupboards and drawers to find what you might want.
Interaction with guests
We will be on the first floor for any guest comments or questions! We will provide you with phone numbers of resource people for questions if we are not present.
The Lyndale neighborhood has been awarded nationally for it's remarkable community building programs which have involved youth, and the new immigrant population in improving the quality of life in the neighborhood. There is a neighborhood YMCA a short walk from our home. There are parks close by with playground equipment, grassy fields, wading pools and music and movies. We are a very close knit community, and you will likely get friendly greetings as you come and go.
Our house is only about 6 blocks from the freeway entrance and 1 block from the bus line to downtown Minneapolis. We have brochures for you to check out things. Hour Cars are available. We are approximately a 20 minute drive from the airport and 10 minutes from the Lake Street Light Rail Station.
Other things to note
The house was built in 1901 and has a ton of character. We have come together as a family to update and improve the second floor for you! Please note the new, ingenius copper shower rod and unique decorations. Everything has a story, just ask!
