The Poet's Studio is a peaceful retreat in the heart of Tucson. The studio shares the private, walled 1/3 acre lot, courtyard and pool with two other structures: a second, working studio and the original mud-adobe home built in the 1940s.
The studio is crafted in the classic Santa Fe style, built of sun-dried adobe with a corner beehive fireplace. You will have private views out both windows, with a mountain view to the north and a view overlooking the pool to the east. The unheated "Plunge Pool" is just swimmable (4-1/2 feet deep) and reaches temperatures in the 80s during the summer.
The studio boasts a 3/4 bath with a walk-in spa shower and a modern, well-appointed kitchenette. Additional amenities include air conditioning and heating, high speed wireless internet, iHome radio for your iPhone, wireless capable flat screen TV (use your NetFlix account!) with Direct-TV., professional induction hotplate, Kuerig coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, Cuisinart gas BBQ and solar panels.
The space is well-equipped. Upon your arrival, you will find coffee, Tucson Tamale Company green corn tamales, granola bars, fruit and chocolate to get you started. I also provide drinking water from Aqua Vita (distilled, magnetically treated) given the tap water is chlorinated and quite mineral-rich. Soaps, dishes, pots and pans, pool towels, robes, hair dryer, iron, even bikes you can borrow. I have tried to think of everything, but if you find you are missing something, I have an entire house full of stuff next door - just ask!
The property is a surprising oasis right in the middle of Tucson. Located in the Poets Corner neighborhood, a convenient midtown area close to everything -- just off the 3rd street bike path, 2.5 miles east of the University of Arizona and 4.5 miles east of downtown Tucson.
We are within 2 miles of great restaurants (Zaynas, Feast, Kazoku, Lodge on the Desert, Old Pueblo Grille), groceries (Whole Foods and Sprouts), cinemas (El Con and Loft) shopping (Target, El Con Mall, CVS),and parks (Alvernon neighborhood park, Reid Park, Reid Park Zoo (like a mini San Diego Zoo!), Randolph Tennis and Golf Center) and the Tucson Botanical Gardens. You will love the serenity, the classic charm, and the convenience.
During your stay, you will access the studio through a private side yard. A covered car port is dedicated for your vehicle.

I just had a fantastic experience staying at Cynthia's place. The studio is very centrally located. Cynthia and her husband are terrific hosts, very warm, welcoming, and attentive. The studio is beautiful, with a very serene atmosphere, both inside and outdoors. The place is equipped with anything you may need for a very comfortable stay, a Keurig for great morning coffee, blender, microwave, and even though I didn[t use any of it, a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom is very spacious, super clean, and the towels were great. Bed is very comfortable. Even the WiFi signal was very stable and strong. I only wish I could have stayed longer, to just chill and enjoy the vibe. I can't recommend the place enough. I will certainly return next time I travel to Tucson.
Our first Airbnb experience, Cindy’s Poet’s Studio was nothing short of exceptional. The studio was clean, comfortable and perfectly appointed. The property, peaceful and private. A special place, to be sure.
What a great place...private, secluded, and perfect for two.
My husband and I spent this winter at Poet's Studio. It is a peaceful, beautiful spot, only minutes away from downtown Tucson. Cindy and Brett were wonderful
hosts and a terrific resource re. what's going on in Tucson, whether it be good restaurants or things to do. We can't recommend Poet's Studio highly enough!
I loved the poet studio, although it is centrally located in Tucson I hardly hear any noise; the neighborhood is quiet, and you can get to places in town pretty much within twenty minutes in any direction; Cynthia has a great website that tells you all the best places to eat, shop for groceries, places to see and have fun, it proved to be the most useful resource for getting my needs met around town. If this is your first time to Tucson like me, you will feel at home at Cynthia's poet studio!
My husband and I stayed two nights in Cynthia's little artist studio. We absolutely loved it. Cynthia was very warm and friendly to us even though we interrupted her during Thanksgiving dinner! The studio itself was super clean and so pretty. Cynthia provided filtered, distilled water which was a fantastic touch in the desert! She also provided complimentary coffee each day and tamales for our first breakfast in Tucson.
I highly recommend this studio!
We had a wonderful experience at the Poet's Studio. The Studio is incredibly warm, inviting, and quiet, and Cynthia's hospitality was wonderful. I would highly recommend the Poet's Studio to anyone looking for an alternative to a hotel. We hope to stay there again!
Though Cindy's casita is practically in the middle of Tucson, you would never know it; tucked into a corner of a peaceful courtyard, it is the perfect place to unwind after a day's spent exploring nearby attractions. Private, quiet and beautifully decorated, it feels like an extension of the host's home, far removed from the hotel experience.
As an added bonus. Cindy thoughtfully left tamales, coffee, tea and breakfast snacks for the morning...much appreciated after arriving late from the airport to an unknown city.
When I return to Tucson, I hope to be able to stay in this sweet casita again!
I absolutely adored this place! I had the great pleasure to stay here for four nights. During my stay, we had the presidential elections and Cynthia was so kind to invite me in to share this historical event with her family and friends. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The studio is outfitted thoughtfully and tastefully. It is situated in the back yard, accessed through the side yard of her home. Olive trees, a grand eucalyptus, bird feeders, the pool, potted citrus trees--so peaceful. I slept like a baby! I'm very grateful to have been Cynthia's guest.
We are pleased to say that our experience at the Poet's Studio was very good. It is a large, comfortable space. The open walk in shower with two shower heads was an unexpected bonus. We didn't realize until our departure that there are shelves behind the mirror in the bathroom with toiletries in case you are short on any. The kitchenette is small but well equipped and more efficient than we thought possible in a compact space. The filtered water, tea and coffee as well as quality fresh fruit and treats were a nice added detail. Very good value for your money here. Cynthia is a delight to deal with; from the booking process to meeting her and introducing you to the Studio. She had lots of information on Tucson and the surrounding region. Thank you for a great memory of our time in Tucson.
