The Poet's Studio is a peaceful retreat in the heart of Tucson. The studio shares the private, walled 1/3 acre lot, courtyard and pool with two other structures: a second, working studio and the original mud-adobe home built in the 1940s.
The studio is crafted in the classic Santa Fe style, built of sun-dried adobe with a corner beehive fireplace. You will have private views out both windows, with a mountain view to the north and a view overlooking the pool to the east. The unheated "Plunge Pool" is just swimmable (4-1/2 feet deep) and reaches temperatures in the 80s during the summer.
The studio boasts a 3/4 bath with a walk-in spa shower and a modern, well-appointed kitchenette. Additional amenities include air conditioning and heating, high speed wireless internet, iHome radio for your iPhone, wireless capable flat screen TV (use your NetFlix account!) with Direct-TV., professional induction hotplate, Kuerig coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, Cuisinart gas BBQ and solar panels.
The space is well-equipped. Upon your arrival, you will find coffee, Tucson Tamale Company green corn tamales, granola bars, fruit and chocolate to get you started. I also provide drinking water from Aqua Vita (distilled, magnetically treated) given the tap water is chlorinated and quite mineral-rich. Soaps, dishes, pots and pans, pool towels, robes, hair dryer, iron, even bikes you can borrow. I have tried to think of everything, but if you find you are missing something, I have an entire house full of stuff next door - just ask!
The property is a surprising oasis right in the middle of Tucson. Located in the Poets Corner neighborhood, a convenient midtown area close to everything -- just off the 3rd street bike path, 2.5 miles east of the University of Arizona and 4.5 miles east of downtown Tucson.
We are within 2 miles of great restaurants (Zaynas, Feast, Kazoku, Lodge on the Desert, Old Pueblo Grille), groceries (Whole Foods and Sprouts), cinemas (El Con and Loft) shopping (Target, El Con Mall, CVS),and parks (Alvernon neighborhood park, Reid Park, Reid Park Zoo (like a mini San Diego Zoo!), Randolph Tennis and Golf Center) and the Tucson Botanical Gardens. You will love the serenity, the classic charm, and the convenience.
During your stay, you will access the studio through a private side yard. A covered car port is dedicated for your vehicle.

I was impressed with Cynthia's customer skills from the start. Once we booked, she followed up closely and made sure that we could check in ASAP. We checked in 2 hrs prior to regular time and all was as expected. This is a great southwestern style studio in a very quiet neighborhood. The website does a nice job at depicting the space. We'll stay here again if we were back in the area.
Hostess was great at suggesting dining establishments which, concurrently, were right on par with Yelp too :-) We were here during mansoon season and woke up to the smell of a summer rain storm. That was a neat bonus!
Neighborhood is quiet, lots of bird life around the many feeders by the pool. Great walk in shower with massive shower head. Very well appointed, for those who choose to cook and stay in. Note that the bed is a double and we felt that was a bit tight for a couple, otherwise all was 5 stars.
The Tucson Poet's Studio is utterly charming. It looked exactly like the photos, but somehow it was even more serene and beautiful than we imagined. Cindy was a gracious host, the Poet's studio was perfectly appointed with lots of thoughtful touches and the courtyard and pool were delightful - particularly in the evening when the temperature dipped and the many strings of globe lights came on. We adore this place - if I find my self in Tucson again, I hope to return.
Thanks so much Cindy and Brett for a wonderful stay in your studio! From your beautiful cozy decor to the cute kitchenette to your warm welcome, we loved every minute of our stay. Waking up in the morning to watch all the birds on the feeders by the pool was so comfy and relaxing. Cindy and Brett and their well-behaved dog were very accessible and friendly, offering a great hike option for us on Mt Lemmon to avoid the brutal heat.
This was a spotless clean, extremely comfortable and luxerious accomodation looking quite new. It was located in a safe, quiet and pleasant neighbourhood. The provided breakfast (Tamales!) and everything else was great (bed, bathroom, beautiful patio), Cynthia was very friendly and welcoming.
Really great place to stay!
Totally as expected and more. Little attentions by Cynthia and Brett were quite appriciated. The backyard and the pool very nice (and refreshing).
Lot of space to store our travel lugguage and stuff.
The kitchen was convenient and well organised.
Whenever we go back to Tucson this is our place again.
Thanx to Cynthia and Brett for a great stay!

Cynthia was a wonderful host and the studio was perfect for our needs. The courtyard was ideal for us to share some time with our friends. I would definately stay there again when we return to Tucson. Our first Airbnb experience was a complete and total success. I have already shared this experience with many friends and family members. I plan to use Airbnb as often as possible in our future travels.
The Poet's Studio was the perfect place to stay for our recent trip to Tucson! My husband and I could not be happier with our choice of lodging for the recent UofA graduation. In addition to the beautiful studio apartment and outdoor courtyard (including a pool!), which was a sanctuary in itself, the location was conveniently located off of Speedway (but tucked away from the busy roads) and extremely private. Also, I must mention that it was a true pleasure to be guests here, as our hosts Cindy, Brett, and dog Sammie were very friendly and accommodating!
I would highly recommend Poet's Studio to anyone planning a visit to Tucson, AZ.
We had a wonderful time at the Tucson Poet's Studio. The "casita" was even nicer than the photos with a beautiful bathroom and kitchenette. There's even a nice outdoor space with strung lights that's perfect for breakfast or to read about Tucson activities. We didn't met Cynthia, but Brett was kind and even got the bikes ready for us. We would certainly stay there again.
The Poet's Studio was a wonderful place to stay in Tucson. The studio is exactly as described and has a very relaxing feel. We were in town visiting family and enjoyed coming back in the evening and sitting at the table by the pool for a bit before bed. Cindy was very friendly and the studio is very clean. The amenities and all the extra treats made you feel at home.
What a wonderful place to spend our vacation! There is nothing negative I can say about Tucson Poet's Studio or the hosts, Cindy and Brett. They were such a lovely couple. They were helpful if you needed them but not intrusive at all. They thought of everything. They left tamales in the freezer that were great. The place was spotless and very comfortable. My favorite was the shower. The courtyard was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. My husband and I loved it there so much we wanted to stay. I would recommend this place to anyone without any hesitation. We will definitely stay there again if we ever return to Tucson.
