A lovely spot to wind down and enjoy the beautiful scenery with peace and tranquility around you. Swim, fish or take a walk or explore an unspoilt part of NZ. Perfect spot for a couple or small family.
Absolute Waterfront Bach (which is what we call our holiday homes ) located just 95 minutes North of Auckland, on the North Eastern Kaipara Habour.
Your accommodation is compact and cosy, and consists of everything you will need to make yourself feel at home.
Featuring a king size bed and a futon bed in the lounge area, the bach also consists of a living / dining / kitchen area, along with a bathroom. It is one and a half hours drive north of Auckland.
Fully equipped with cooking facilities, the bach comes complete with pots, pans, crockery etc and has a gas barbecue for your use.
Basic cooking provisions provided.
You will also be able to sit back and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets from the deck.
There is no public transport to Pahi - it is set on a peninsular surrounded by water and is 7 kms from the nearest village and bus.
There is a small store in the camp grounds for basic supplies which you can walk to around the beach in a few minutes.
Walk around the headland via the beach to wharf, dairy, playground and campground. This is a great place to fish but if that is not for you you can purchase flounder and oysters off the local fisherman.
The Village Cafe is located 7kms away where you will be able to find good coffee and home baking. There are also local farmers' markets every fortnight and several restaurants/cafes within a 10km radius.
Nearby are also Piroa waterfalls, Matakohe Kauri Museum and 40 minutes to Waipu Caves which are undeveloped, completely natural and even have glow worms.
3G internet access good.
Small pets OK by arrangement.
Kayak and canoe available for your use.
This is a very quiet, peaceful part of New Zealand. If you like the bright lights and partying it is not for you! But if you enjoy lovely sunsets, beautiful scenery and tranquility you will love it!
Peggy's bach on Pahi beach was in a gorgeous setting; a small private cove with only six little baches which made it very quiet and private without feeling isolated.
The bach overlooks the water and is almost on the beach so its location is superb.
The bach itself is well equipped with just about every home convenience - even a coffee machine (!) and is beautifully clean and homely.
There's a huge range of really good DVDs to watch too, when you've had enough of the sun and surf.
Peggy was great to communicate with - she got back to us quickly with any questions we had.
'C'Vue' was just the ticket for us and we hope to return one day if Peggy allows us :-)
We had such a lovely stay at Peggy's! The waterfront view is absolutely incredible. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling north of Auckland. Thanks so much Peggy!!

Hello, My name is Peggy. I am a retired woman who has travelled extensively and have used Airbnb very successfully on two separate trips to Europe.
The flatette is underneath my home and was originally created as an independent space for my daughter while she was at university. The townhouse listing is my home which I rent when I am travelling. I enjoy meeting people and have had some delightful guests stay over the last 2 years.
