We were made very welcome by Marge and very much appreciated the basket of goodies on the first day as well as the equipment provided for the beach which saved us from having to purchase or rent it.
A home away from home! It is stocked with everything, only need your clothes and personals. Marge is an excellent host, very friendly
and attentive. Located a short drive to grocery, coffee, food and beaches (Kailua; Lanikai). The pictured lanai (patio) is a charming, covered, sitting & eating area. Two separate bedrooms with closets & storage space. The kitchen/family room is very cozy & inviting. Exactly the place to stay. The cottage atmosphere is perfect.
Our stay at Marge’s was really great. It is a lovely apartment just like in the pictures. It is equipped with everything you might need – from cooking stuff over a bunch of Oahu guide books to snorkel equipment, beach chairs and body boards. In addition the free and easy access to a washing machine and a dryer were very helpful. The place is very clean and you will feel at home as soon as you open the door – as soon as you see the welcome package and all the small things you will love the place. We had a great contact to Marge who almost instantly replied on our emails. She is very helpful and welcoming and we would definitely stay at her place another time. Mahalo for everything, Marge!
We really enjoyed staying at the place. The house was clean with a very nice outside area. The host had stored some nice provisions which were very much appreciated. Everything needed was cared for. Several books about Hawaii, tour guides and other material was available and was a great help. Many beach utensils were available for use. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The host made sure that we had what we needed upon arrival but did not in any way disturb our privacy. We highly recommend the accommodation.
This is a beautiful place! All is like in the pic. U find everything u Need- from beachstuff to some fruits and Drinks for free. Also its very close to Hololulu, but better ,Cause beautiful beaches are close and its silent. Thanks for the wonderful days in your apartment!
Marge is so great! We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage is equipped with everything we could need for cooking and for the beach. Marge was very helpful with suggestions and had created a great binder full of information and recommendations which came in handy. We highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!
Great little place to stay, excellent value! Looks exactly like the pictures. The place itself is clean and big enough for two people. Having two separate bedrooms was great for me and my friend who have different sleeping styles. The beds were comfy and the ceiling fans and tile floor were plenty to keep the space cool. The bathroom is tiny but efficient and we were pleased to find aloe vera gel (hello sunburn) and makeup remover (not used to wearing waterproof mascara) in the cabinet. The towels were big and fluffy and smelled good to boot.
All of the amenities were so great!! We didn't have to rent snorkel masks, buy sunscreen, shampoo/conditioner or buy reef shoes (which I used several times). The welcome basket of coffee and wine was awesome! The best was the washer/dryer. Used them twice and was so happy to have them! The neighborhood is residential and quiet and we got a good nights sleep. You can hear the neighbors but they didn't stay up late or make excessive noise.
Kailua/Lanakai is an amazing town with the most gorgeous beach I have ever seen (Kailua Beach). The town is great for eating, coffee shops, some shopping, SUP, the farmers market and of course, the beach. All very close by- 5 minute drive. LOVELY place!!
The drive up (the East side) to the North Shore is beautiful and we actually enjoyed driving to fantastic places like The Polynesian Cultural Center and zip-lining at ClimbWorks. Wish we had stayed a little longer, 6 full days was not enough!
We met Marge the first day we were there and she gave us some tips on where to go and what to check out. Other than that she checked in by email and let us enjoy our vacation without the feel of a nosy landlord or overbearing mom.
My sister and I live in the main house and love to travel and meet new people. We value the beauty and uniqueness of Hawaii and will do everything to make your stay the best vacation you can imagine. We love to walk the beaches here, and hiking. We can direct you to restaurants, activities and deals. This is a quiet neighborhood, and you will have maximum privacy. Enjoy island style relaxation!
