My friend and I bunked up here for four nights and it was great. A bit of a long ride into Manhattan, but located right next to the metro and great for visiting or exploring Brooklyn and Queens. Ian and Jose were incredibly nice and quite helpful, but most of the time we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Great place, we'd stay again for sure!
Ian was very nice. They keep the room very clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was great to have my own room in a convenient location for such a good price. I would stay there again. There are a couple of things potential renters should know, however: 1) there is a cat in the apartment. I am allergic, but I was okay, thankfully; 2) on the friday night I was there, there was Mexican banda music and Dominican bachata blasting through the neighborhood until around 2:30 am. For me, for the comfort and the price, I could tolerate it, lol.
Andrew was a great guest! He did fail to read the listing prior to booking. We have stated that we own a cat and that there is noise sometimes from the bar thats a building over. It is important to read everything from the listing to make sure the place you are staying is the right place for you. :)
Me and my boyfriend have nothing but great things to say about our stay with Jose and Ian in New York. The room/apartement was clean and well prepaired and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would defenitely recommend this as a place to stay!
We had a wonderful time staying with Ian and José. They were súper nice and offered help whenever we had a question or needed anything. Trully excellent polite hosts!
The most amazing hosts I've ever encountered. The room was nicely decorated, Ian was so welcoming and the location was amazing. Not to mention their cat was also friendly.
We had a lovely time staying with Ian and Jose. They are very relaxed and easy to be around. Very helpful too! The location is good, very close to two subway lines and shops around if you need them. We had a fun time and they have a cute cat too!
I had an amazing experience staying with Ian and Jose for over 3 weeks as I transitioned to NYC from Utah! Ian and Jose are very down to earth and friendly. They were helpful with my many questions about the city and they did a great job providing a warm and comfortable environment, including the occasional fresh baked banana bread, and many other nice gestures! They were even nice enough to invite me to have Thanksgiving with them knowing that I was new in town and had no family to be with. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of space in the bedroom. As Ian and Jose have mentioned there is some noise (music) some nights and you will want to wear the provided ear-plugs on those nights if you are a light sleeper. If you are only staying for a few days you might not even hear the music depending on the time of the week. The home was beautiful and charming. The cat (Niko) was awesome to have around. The neighborhood felt safe and I quickly found all my favorite places to eat and shop for food. The subway was close by and getting into Manhattan was easy. Some of the subway lines are occasionally closed down on the weekends for repair but they seem to have a good shuttle bus system in place when that happens.
Overall, I highly recommend this as a great place to stay!
Ian and Jose were awesome from the beginning! They were super quick to respond to my inquiry and were understanding that it was a little last minute. They were welcoming and were there to greet me at the apartment. The apartment is large, beautifully decorated, clean, and welcoming! They have a well behaved and lovely cat! I only stayed one night but would highly recommend this space and I would stay again in the future! The apartment was not that far from the subway--maybe a 7 minute walk and it's a short ride into NYC.. Safe and cultured neighborhood.
Jose and Ian's place was perfect for us! Very cozy, clean, and quiet. We were greeted by Jose who was very welcoming and friendly, and gave really helpful advice. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet Ian until the last day we were there because of how occupied we were with the city. We had a pretty busy schedule while we were there, and we were able to come and go as we pleased, which was perfect. I definitely recommend staying with these handsome guys, whether you're just there to use the bed, or you're looking for a friendly host. Thanks again guys, our first NYC experience was amazing!
