Our Silicon Valley homage to artist David Hockney, who embraced technology as a medium for artistic expression and anticipated its radical impact on how images are perceived. In the 1980s the Xerox photocopier and Quantel Paintbox were his muses. Now the iPad is his canvas and the subject of a major exhibition at the Royal Academy: “The iPad is like an endless piece of paper that perfectly fitted the feeling I had that painting should be big.” Now that’s a pairing that Leonardo Da Vinci would have approved of, too.

The perfect spot for visiting professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, engineers, scholars, students, conference attendees and Stanford parents- anyone who enjoys a private room with plenty of space to stretch out and work, beautiful neighborhood walks, easy car-free access to Stanford Campus, convenient travel to surrounding areas in Mountain View, Menlo Park, Sunnyvale, Redwood City and Santa Clara, as well as San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz and Oakland/Berkeley.

  • It was amazing to meet such a kind host. Leigh and his husband were so nice! The most impressive aspect was that they invited me into their real life. They were willing to share their life and thoughts frankly and become friend with me.
I think the best aspect of Airbnb is that you can make a good friend who lives the place you stay and can introduce valuable things you can't learn alone.
If anyone consider to travel near Stanford or Palo Alto, I highly recommend to stay here and enjoy the time with the hosts.

  • Leigh was a great host, and her house is run very professionally. This was a great find in Palo Alto and I'd definitely stay with them again

    March 2014
  • Leigh and EJ were great hosts, and the location was great for getting to University Ave. Everything was awesome and it made my stay very enjoyable.

    February 2014
  • Both EJ & Leigh are amazing to have as a host. I spent 3 weeks with them and have learned a whole lot more about Palo Alto and Stanford from them. If you want an ultimate Silicon Valley/Stanford experience... You can't go wrong with these guys..

I took the Hockney room and absolutely love it. It was spacious, the bed was great and I love being able to work from home without any disturb. As I stayed for a lot longer than most other guest, I notice that both EJ & Leigh are so good at hosting travellers that they should never give this up.

They are very insightful and well connected in the tech and Stanford community. The best part is they are always keen to share and include their guest when it comes to activities that might interest them. Thanks to them, a few other guest and myself were invited to Robert Scoble's private party at Half Moon Bay. They also sent me a list of talks/events at Stanford which I love & got the most value out of the whole experience.

Not only that they are great host, EJ & Leigh's guest tends to be like minded individuals... Outgoing, Sociable, fun, seasoned travellers and professionals/ students with either tech or medical background. I've made a few friends through this experience and would very much like to see them visiting NZ.

Leigh always gives her guest a great guide on where to go & what to see locally.

Very safe area, I've been walking home from the train station after midnight after a long day visiting SF but never concern me much of doing so.

  • Great stay and really friendly hosts.
Such a shame I was there for only a few days. Would have loved to extend our conversations. A great place to stay and share ideas, especially if you are working in a tech startup, I highly recommend you have a chat wit your hosts.

  • My son and I were touring Stanford and used Leigh and EJ's home in Palo Alto as our home base. Their home is conveniently located to public transportation yet nestled into the quiet neighborhood of Palo Alto. Upon arrival, they immediately gave us a warm welcome and continued to be extremely helpful with everything from restaurant to 'touring ' suggestions. I would highly recommend them to anybody planning a stay in Palo Alto.

    November 2013
  • Very convenient location close to Stanford campus, downtown Palo Alto and the Caltrain station – you can easily walk or bike to everything. Though I often walked to the Caltrain, parking right outside was easy and always available. The neighborhood is the very nicest in the area, with many tech celebrities living here – a lot of locals and tourists walk the neighborhood for the lovely houses and gardens. The room is big with a very comfortable bed and desk chair and big walk-in closet, and the house is very nice, clean and spacious with views into a huge garden backyard. The hosts, Leigh and EJ, are super warm and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home, are very well connected in industry and Stanford and have so many interesting friends. They kindly introduced me to friends of theirs at GOOG,(website hidden)and LI which led to very helpful meetings. Absolutely wonderful stay.

  • The room is well-decorated, comfortable and clean. Great house, good location within short walking to all major avenues and Stanford campus, beautiful neighborhood where many tech founders from leading tech companies live, and beautiful backyard. The host is really nice and helpful. One of my best experiences!!

Even a walk-in wardrobe for you to put your luggages etc. Oh! The Location is within 10 mins walk from California Ave Caltrain!
