ABOUT THE HOCKNEY PRIVATE ROOM
Our Silicon Valley homage to artist David Hockney, who embraced technology as a medium for artistic expression and anticipated its radical impact on how images are perceived. In the 1980s the Xerox photocopier and Quantel Paintbox were his muses. Now the iPad is his canvas and the subject of a major exhibition at the Royal Academy: “The iPad is like an endless piece of paper that perfectly fitted the feeling I had that painting should be big.” Now that’s a pairing that Leonardo Da Vinci would have approved of, too.
The perfect spot for visiting professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, engineers, scholars, students, conference attendees and Stanford parents- anyone who enjoys a private room with plenty of space to stretch out and work, beautiful neighborhood walks, easy car-free access to Stanford Campus, convenient travel to surrounding areas in Mountain View, Menlo Park, Sunnyvale, Redwood City and Santa Clara, as well as San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz and Oakland/Berkeley.

My stay in this house is just perfect. Leigh and EJ are there when you need some assistance, but they will not bother you when you need to concentrate on your work in the room. The room is clean and spacious. Living room, kitchen, bathroom, … they are all clean and neat. Leigh just cleans up everything. This is a very very safe and quiet residential area. It is close to Stanford University. I walked to the Hoover Institution everyday -- It takes 30 minutes to get there on foot -- It is a pleasant walk. Leigh and EJ gave a map and showed me how to get there on foot. This house is also close to a Cal train station -- it takes 12-13 minutes to get there on foot with my luggage. Leigh and EJ are wonderful people. Oh, they provide you with towels, shampoo, soap, and toilet papers. In order to write a balanced review, I have tried to find something that I can complain about, but I cannot find any -- it is just a perfect place. I would definitely recommend this place for my family, relatives, friends, my colleagues, and my students.
Leigh and EJ were fantastic hosts from the very first day inviting me to a hike on the very same day of my arrival!!. The place is wonderful, in a very central location close to Stanford campus and they keep it very clean and comfortable. The room is very spacious with everything you need. A very wonderful breakfast was provided with fresh Californian oranges as a plus!! Leigh and EJ made me feel like at home and they were extremely helpful with information about places to visit all around the area. They were very knowledge about the area and they would love spending time to chat with me about it. Definitely I do recommend this place to stay and I would stay there myself again.
Leigh is a very kind of a host!!She and her husband introduce me about the nearby restaurant and Stanford University.
I really enjoyed my stay. The room was quiet and classy. I think I will stay here next Journey~!
Leigh's house is big, coasy, quiet and very clean. The neighbourhood is perfect for those who like to feel a little bit of the lifestyle of the place they are visiting. We had a great time and it was the perfect location for us during our stay in Palo Alto. Walking distance to every place we needed to go. It's our first option in a next trip to Palo Alto.
Very convenient location and nice and clearn room. They also have a smart High Definition TV and Netflix.
The couple themselves are very nice and seem to know what is happening in the Valley quiet well.
I had a fantastic stay with Leigh and her husband during my internship. The room has everything I wanted (netflix, big walk-in closet, large and comfortable bed, desk and very comfortable desk chair...) and the neighborhood is very safe with a lot of beautiful gardens and houses. The location is super convenient for reaching Palo Alto’s downtown avenues, Stanford, the Caltrain, shopping centers and supermarkets. Leigh and her husband are very accommodating and generously helped me with work advice and planning my weekend trips. I definitely felt at home in their house and learnt so much from chatting with them. Staying with them was awesome!
Leigh was a charming hostress. The home well located in Palo Alto. The room clean & comfortable, spacious & practical, well & tastefully decorated. Big closet too to put luggage & clothes, etc. Bathroom just outside down hall. Kitchen & dining area, breakfast area well stocked wit delicious & healthy foods. Altogether delightful stay with Leigh.
