Leonardo da Vinci was perhaps one of the most curious people who ever lived. Wanting to know how everything worked, he ceaselessly observed, noted, experimented, dreamed, sketched and modeled. An engineer, inventor, musician, juggler, fencer, cook, painter and sculptor, he worked and played at the intersection of many domains, a skill we would all benefit from today.

Our Da Vinci room includes framed prints of Leonardo Da Vinci’s folio sketches of his flying machine Ornitottero Prono, and bicycle, as well as scale models of his creations to inspire you (though note most scholars now attribute the bicycle drawing to Gian Giacomo Caprotti, a pupil of da Vinci). A contemporary medieval wine harvest tapestry, which also hangs in the Cluny Museum in Paris, is a reminder of La Dolce Vita, the sweet life, and of Leonardo’s beliefs that the sensazione, man’s senses, were the gateway to the soul, and that it was important to balance mind with body, as well as art with science.

The perfect spot for visiting professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, engineers, scholars, students, conference attendees and Stanford parents- anyone who enjoys a private room with plenty of space to stretch out and work, beautiful neighborhood walks, easy car-free access to Stanford Campus, convenient travel to surrounding areas in Mountain View, Menlo Park, Sunnyvale, Redwood City and Santa Clara, as well as San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz and Oakland/Berkeley.

  • Leigh and EJ were fantastic hosts. Upon arrival, we were given plenty of information about the area and things to do/places to eat. The location is very central, convenient, and close to public transportation. The room was very clean and comfortable, and Leigh made herself available to any questions that we had. I would definitely come back and stay here again and recommend this place to friends. Thank you Leigh and EJ for hosting us :)

  • Staying at Leigh and EJ's place was a really great first airbnb's experience. They are really easy going people and always helpful. The place is excellent, quiet, confy, safe, and near everywhere, walking from university ave to the place, was a really nice experience. Next time I'll visit San Jose or Palo Alto, I'll for sure stay with them again. Thank you for your recommendations and directions to visit awesome places. You should not hesitate when thinking to stay with them.

  • Leigh and her husband were really helpful on my arrival even though I had to arrive the house at 11 PM. The house is located in a beautiful neighbourhood and close to Stanford campus. My room was exactly what it was looked like from the listing. Everything you need for a shower or a sweet sleep was perfectly prepared for your convenience. Although I have been out on the campus in most of times, I enjoyed every conversation with Leigh and her husband when it was possible. They have kindly provided advise on things to do in Palo alto and even invited me to hiking in the weekend. I am always excited about meeting new people and sharing new ideas. I wish I could have more time to spend with them in this lovely area. I think I will definitely come and live here again on next trip to Stanford. Highly recommend for people coming to Stanford for business or study and would like to get to know people from a local community that is enriched with entrepreneurial spirit.

  • This was my first airbnb experience...Leigh is extremely welcoming, I felt right at home. I am a student and I needed a quite place to come home to and study. This was the perfect place. The bed was so comfy, my room had a tv, and tons of closet space. Leigh sent me things to do around town, made sure I was happy. She had breakfast food which was great. I highly recommend Leighs home. Will return if possible! Thank you for an amazing stay!

  • Great home with all the comforts and amenities. Leigh made sure I had everything I needed and was very accommodating. The room I stayed in was impeccable, clean, and noise free. The house is in a great neighborhood and a perfect location for anything in the Silicon Valley area. I would fully recommend staying here over any hotel in Palo Alto and I will be coming back soon myself.

  • It was my first time in the Bay Area and I can tell that does first two weeks wouldn’t have been as great without the incredible hospitality of Leigh and her Husband. They offered so much more than a Room! Leigh and her Husband always had good tips for me; there is so much to do in the area! Talks, concerts, restaurants, sport activities etc. They have also helped find a place as I was staying in Palo Alto for the next 6 months. Also their location is just perfect! Everything is close to their place; California Avenue, University Avenue, Stanford Campus… I was very lucky to find such a great place! And to be with such great and warm people!
